"Only one clue left..."Malvyn says to Mellori and the others. "...Alumni commission works when they retire, seeking promising mages to inspire. I suppose we're going to the only place we didn't visit yet, just north of the gardens." The purple-skinned tiefling finshes, with a quick smile of acknowledgement to Mei. "I hope it will become clear what is expected of us once we get there." He adds, starting to head that way.
After Mei had followed the Awakened Shrub to the north end of the Book Garden, you could all see a room in the northwest corner of the Biblioplex. From here it's not clear what it is, but it does seem a likely choice for the final clue. If the shrubs are to be trusted - they certainly seemed honest enough!
(Knap still hasn't patted any leaves as far as I recall, but we can move along and get him caught up when able.)
Knap, after joyously taking in everyone's brush with the wild, follows the Awakened Shrub to the north end. "It's been a pleasure and thank you for your thoughtful time." Knap hugs and pets the shrub.
When Knappats the leaves of the Awakened Shrub, once again the branches part to reveal yet another Cuddly Strixhaven Mascot. This one is in the shape of an Inkling Mascot (Silverquill).
Guardok heads to the north of the book garden with the others, his Art Elemental Mascot held firmly in one hand.
"So what happens when you finish a treasure hunt?", he asks the others. "Maybe we can continue the hunt and go look for Piero, although we don't really have a good clue", he suggests.
Mae brings up the rear of the group as they head to the gallery, her hand resting back inside her bag, lightly stroking her new cuddly toy as she walks along. "Last one then, what did this one say again?" After getting a response she'll do her due diligence and take a look around the room.
"I don't think Lesviel gave as any clear instructions about what we are supposed to do once we're finished but I suppose we could head back to the information desk and ask."Malvyn says to Guardok and the rest of his floories as they leave the Book Garden.
"Alumni commission works when they retire, seeking promising mages to inspire was the last clue. I think we've concluded we should go right over there..." He answers the Aasimar, inclining his horned head to the north of the Book Garden. "...and I expect we will understand what we're supposed to do once we get there." He adds with a hopefully friendly smile as he starts walking there.
As you all approach the room, you see a plaque shindig the entryway reading 'Student and Alumni Art Gallery'. Inside, the room features white walls and columns that stretch from floor to ceiling. Displayed on or within these are art pieces representative of various media. At the far northwest corner of the space is a small room behind a closed door.
Just inside the entryway is an Elf dressed all in green. He certainly like slot like the person you passed earlier belong to assemble props and costumes in the study area. "A good day to you all," he says with a deep bow and a slight smile on his face. "I am Cadoras and welcome you on behalf of the Distinguished Society of Fine Artists. We gather to share ideas and discuss new projects and techniques in the fine arts. And of course create and share our own works. If be happy to tell you more if interested. But please, enjoy the gallery."
For any that wander through the gallery, you see one particular portrait of several older alumni wearing Prismari College robes.
Guardok is drawn to the painting of the Prismari alumni as they are wearing the robes of the college he is hoping to become a part of.
"Hey, these folk are older, I bet they are retired", he says as he looks up at the painting and waits for the floor to shift to give him a better look. Whether it does or doesn't, he starts to investigate the painting, running a hand over the frame where he can reach and possibly pulling it out slightly to look up behind it.
The purple-skinned tiefling wasn't particularly interested in arts either. It almost pained him being confronted with how narrow his interests really were when there was so much to indulge in at Strixhaven, the plethora of different clubs was a testament to that. Malvyn gives the green-clad elf a measuring glance, would he too use his confident charming ways to impress or was he genuinely here to inform first-years about his distinguished society. "Thank you Cadoras, the interest and understanding of fine arts is a gift I have yet to recieve. I think however we might have passed friends of yours, in costumes, but they were not at the amphitheatre?" The tiefling curiously says with a polite smile.
“Hi Cadoras, Knap here, nice to meet you.” Knap immediately begins to explore the room from portrait to portrait mimicking each respective subject’s pose. The thinking man, blue steal, janky couture. He turns back toward Cadoras and strikes his own heroic pose. “You know, if you’re ever looking for models I happen to be looking for a job..” Syzygy bats his lashes and his shoulder length hair bellows from beneath his top hat as if someone were fanning him offstage. “But like Malvyn, I’m yet to understand the finer details of the brush.”
Mei, relieved that there was, in fact, a gallery here, pauses at the entryway to add the location to her map. The awakened shrubs continue to dance through her mind and the need to chronicle the experience momentarily distracts from the scavenger hunt. She flips to a fresh page and sketches a quick vignette of Knap hugging the shrub and Guardok and Malvyn both barefoot in the grass.
The floor doesn't make any reaction to Guardok as he examines the painting - it is already displayed so he can see it well. Fortunately, it takes little effort for him to notice the prominently displayed plaque that reads: “At Strixhaven we were all inspired.” Below the plaque is a small lever.
Cadoras replies to Malvyn first. "Yea, I'm a member of the Live-Action Roleplaying Guild as well. I was out there helping Rosie set some things up. We've got an event later, a game we call Beholders versus Behirs. We'll be out on the lawn, so you can come and see if interested."
"It's a shame you aren't familiar with the fine arts. Strixhsven has quite a few really fantastic artists. It includes painting and sculpting in all kinds of mediums - clay, stone, wood, glass..." He shakes his head. "Well, a lot of things. It's amazing too when you look at how magic can aid in the actual artistic process."
He stops, looking at both Malvyn and Knap with a grin. "Obviously I find it really interesting. And there is such great beauty in all the pieces being created. But good to meet you both. Umm..." Cadoras glances to Knap as he goes. "I guess I'll keep you in mind as a model?"
When Guardok pulls the lever, a box pops out of the wall containing several Strixhaven Pennants. It seems there are 7 in all - 3 Lorehold, 3 Prismari, and 1 Silverquill.
Mae followed the group into the room and casually listened in on the conversation with Cadoras, all while admiring the various art pieces and waiting to see if anything looked like it might be the final clue. She half smiled at the thought of Knap being a model. Someone had once wanted to paint her while she was performing, but it had turned into a madhouse of people wanting more portraits of her and so she shut them all out and had the first painting destroyed. She appreciated that some people found her attractive, she supposed, but she disliked the idea of taking her visage home with them. She sighed to herself for a moment and shook her head out of her wandering thoughts and back to the task at hand. "Find something there, Guardok?"She stepped a bit closer.
"I certainly have Mae, it's a box", Guardok says turning around to face Mae and holding up the closed box with the mechanism for opening it facing his fellow resident of Dresar Hall.
"Care to open it and see what's inside?", he asks.
Guardok shrugs and turns the box around, gently opening it and removing the top pendant.
"It's a little flag", he says and waves it above his head. "Looks like this is for Lorehold". He puts the box on the floor and starts drawing out other little flags. "There are seven by the looks, some Lorehold, some Primsari and even a Silverquill".
"Who wants one?", he asks happily handing out pennants to anyone who takes an interest.
