"It was..."The purple-skinned tiefling says and draws the raven-haired beauty in for a good night kiss. "...and thank you for tonight." He says and gives her an affectionate hug before watching her step inside her dorms, then cheerfully walking back to Dresar hall with his purple tail swaying happily behind him. He lays awake for some time, listening to Knap snoring, mostly thinking about Aurora, but also about his floor mates and Q, who he had to admit handled himself surprisingly well this evening. He didn't know how Mei would handle her two courters though, perhaps she enjoyed the attention now but at some point someone would likely be disappointed, or at least that is how things ended up in all the novels he had recently read on the subject.
(OOC - Feel free to follow up with posts from post gala, but I was going to move things along.)
The next morning comes, with the Showband performance later and the final performance of the play coming too. The play is early in the afternoon, while the concert takes place early in the evening. There's a little bit of time between play and band performance, but not a lot.
Meisleeps in a bit later than she had been lately. But then again, it had been a busy night. Once awake, she again feels refreshed and alert - her more recent 'normal' self.
Guardokhas just a bit of time before heading to the theater. The others - even the performers - have plenty of time before the band concert.
After returning the dress, Mei spends most of her time before the performance catching up on her studies, though a bit more prone to daydreaming today after the events of the previous night.
Whenever it's time for the bard to go, she'll ask if Mae if she'd like her to go meet Larine and accompany her to the auditorium(?). Either way, she'll see her off, wishing her luck with a big hug and "see you later." When it's time to leave for the performance itself, she'll head over with whoever is going.
Malvyn would take a slow morning for once, chatting a bit with Knap and complimenting him on his tending to the floor's plants. He would then get dressed and magically clean the borrowed tuxedo and then return it to the theatre before having a brunch at the Firejolt cafe, checking in on Mina Lee and the news from the Strixhaven Star while there. He would spend the day reading some books in the Biblioplex before making it to the band performance in good time, hoping to run into his floor mates there, and if possible he would bring black dahlia's for Aurora.
Maeleve isn't doing much that day, other than resting and catching up on any school work she needs to. She'll mostly stay inside her room except for meals, unless someone fetches her for some reason. Otherwise she'll leave for the evening show maybe an hour or two before it is scheduled to start. It's fine with Maeleve if Mei wants to find Larine and accompany her but she isn't insistent on it, though perhaps if she bumped into Larine at some point she'd see if Larine was planning on going or if she was selling tickets again.
Guardok follows his usual morning routine, getting up early to train, eating a hearty breakfast and then leaving for the performance in good time. He is excited for their final performance of the play, confident that it will be the best of the run.
Larine would have told Mae that she was taking tickets at the Show Band performance that evening. So, she would be there, just working beforehand. But she definitely indicates to Maethat she would say hello to her afterward.
Guardokis up with his usual routine but only has a little bit of time before he has to head to the theater to get ready. He gears up once again to prepare for the show, seeing Rubina arriving just as he does. "Hello! Good to see you again. Ready for one more show?" As they step inside, Quentillius is already there and greets the two as well.
Malvynis able to get a bit of reading in. Finding the flowers for Aurora is a bit more difficult than he'd thought, but he does eventually manage to find what he is looking for.
Meirealizes as the time for the Show Band performance arrives that she is the only one still around. However, just about that time Cadoras shows up. "Hey! Wondering if you needed someone to walk with you over to the auditorium? I could probably find someone if you do." He grins as he says it.
Relieved he found the flowers he hoped for, the purple-skinned tiefling makes his way over to the auditorium, checking in with Larine at the door where you could leave flowers to be given to a performer at the end of the concert. Having dealt with that he would look around for familiar faces to find some company before finding some good seats where acoustics would give the best listening experience.
A look of surprise quickly melts away into a smile. There's something about the curve of this smile, and how it reflects in her eyes, that's different than her others, only seen when the young elf is around. "Hm... If you could find someone with green hair and a penchant for onions, I'd be very appreciative," she quips back, easily falling into step with him. "I didn't know you were going! Have you ever seen a show band performance before? I'm not entirely sure how it's different than a normal band performance? Though Mae's uniform did look quite flashy."
Mei walks with Cadoras to the auditorium, pausing to chat with Larine at the ticket booth before they enter to find seats. She glances around for any sign of her floormates, then settles in to enjoy the show and cheer on her friend.
"Hey Rubi. The grand finale! I am good to go", he says cheerfully. Perhaps after it is over he might feel a little sad, but for now it is all positive from for the little genasi. He gives Quentillius a salute by way of greeting once inside.
Once again he is the first to get into costume, even though it is likely too early. He had taken his outfit from the previous night back before that of course.
"Good to hear," Rubina replies to Guardok as he heads off to get in costume. Quentillius returns his salute and briefly says, "Good day," to the pair. He is then off himself to prepare. A short time later the genasi is fully in costume and now just as to wait for the curtain time. Rubina had not yet dressed herself and was just waiting backstage. She seems relaxed and in no rush. Upon seeing Guardokshe comments, "You're already dressed! I guess I should get going myself. Hard to believe we're already to the final performance." She smiles though and say, "I'll be right back," as she heads to get dressed.
It takes Rubina a bit longer than it had Guardokto get ready. Although not necessarily because her costume was any more intricate. It just seemed that she had taken her time. "Well now, this is more like it." She glances around, "Still no Quentillius?" Evidently that man was taking his time even more so than she had.
"You know Q. He is likely arranging each strand of hair individually", Guardok replies with a chuckle.
He moves to try and look out towards the seating from the side of the stage, perhaps having to peek from behind the curtain, "Do you think it will be a full house? It feels like most people must have already been".
Looking back towards her, he remembers that she has the show band straight after.
"Have you brought your show band outfit and gear? How much time will you have after the this to get across there?"
Rubina chuckles. "Yes, he probably is doing that." As Guardokis taking a quick look at the seating he doesn't see too many people. "It's probably not going to be the biggest audience. But I'd like to think people have been hearing about it and will come. It's a bit early for the seats to be filled right now though." When Guardok asks about the show band she nods. "Aurora is going to have my instrument so I don't have to worry about it. But I'll just change into my uniform here. I should have at least 45 minutes, probably closer to an hour. Certainly enough time to get there."
Time passes and eventually Quentillius does show up. He's now in costume and it's getting closer and closer to show time. "I see you both are ready. It is just about time to go on."
(OOC - If you want to make one last skill check for the show, go ahead. And of course, wrap up any other RP there!)
"Ok, let's do this. You'll all be great, I'm certain", Guardok says as he takes his position in the wings for the start of the play. And then it is all business, as he hopes to make this last performance the best of the run. He possibly tries a little too hard.
Cadoras laughs. "Sounds like you're looking for someone that matches my description! And you're in luck, I'm available!" He goes on, speaking to Mei, "Of course I'm going. I mean, doesn't everybody go to these things?" The pair are soon heading out of Dresar Hall and on their way to the auditorium. When they arrive, it is not hard to spot Larine taking tickets. None of the other floormates appear to have arrived yet. Larine points you towards a section off to one side a bit, but fairly close to the front.
It's not long after that Malvynarrives and Larine helps him to see where Mei and Cadoras are sitting. And she takes the flowers, promising to take care of them for him.
"Hey there you two, thanks again for yesterday and hope you had a good time together when you finally could relax some." The purple-skinned tieflling says with a warm smile as he takes a seat beside Mei, glancing curiously over at the two of them. "I hope Rubina will be okay, I'm hardly a performer myself but rushing from one stage to another seems like a challenge even for someone like her."He says thoughtfully as he looks around for familiar faces.
Guardokmakes it through the final performance of the play. He still does a fine job but is still not quite as sharp as his other performances. Quentillius too seems to struggle a little bit, and in fact misspeaks one of his lines. Though always the professional, he does recover from the mistake quite deftly. Rubina though is still exceptional in her role. Perhaps not the very best of her performances, but it is again quite good.
Soon the play comes to end. The crowd was actually fairly full, all watching attentively. The energy was not quite as strong as others, but they all seemed very appreciative of the show.
Backstage, Rubina says, "Well, time for me to get moving along to the band concert. Got to change!" She swiftly heads to his dressing room, as does Quentillius, though he without a word. It doesn't take her too long and she is decked out in her uniform for the Show Band.
"I had a wonderful time last night," Cadoras says with a smile, then gives a side-long glance to see how Meiresponds. "I hardly know Rubina, but from what I've seen I do not doubt she will take the challenge of play and concert in stride."
As Malvynlooks about, he does notice that Drazhomir is seated a few rows back but on the opposite side of where you are at. There are a few others present that you recognize but don't know as well - Javenish from the Bow's End Tavern, Greta from the Iron Lifters, and Zanther. They are scattered about the auditorium.
"Good luck. Not that you'll need luck, you'll be amazing I am sure", Guardok says to Rubina after having changed back into their usual clothes. Well, he into his usual clothes at least.
He is a little disappointed that the final performance of the play wasn't their best, but was happy that the audience seemed to enjoy it all the same. Quentillius not saying anything before heading off to change was a sign that he wasn't happy with his personal performance either. He briefly debates waiting for Quentillius before heading out to catch the show band, but decides to let him have a little space.
"Actually, mind if I wander across with you?", he asks Rubina.
Before they leave, he checks one last time to see if Quentillius is ready, and planning to attend the show band.
"Not at all," Rubina tells Guardokwith a smile. She keeps a fairly good pace as they cross the central campus to where the auditorium is located. It hardly takes 15 minutes, and you can see by the clock that there is still a little bit of time before the show starts. Rubina heads for the stage door, pausing just a moment to wave to Guardok. "Enjoy the show!" she says before slipping out of sight.
Guardokmakes his way inside, running into Larine taking tickets. "Your floormates are over that way. Should still be a seat over there," she tells him, pointing in the general direction.
Mei's own side-long glance intersects Cadoras' and she jumps as though caught. Clearing her throat, she answers, "W-Wonderful! Yes! It really was a b-beautiful event. And having you all there made it very special." She leans lightly into Malvyn to offer a little press of thanks.
"And if anyone can juggle both, it's Rubina. I don't think I've ever meant anyone quite as capable as she is!" Looking out towards the performance area, she enthuses, "I'm looking forward to seeing Mae and Aurora perform too. So different from seeing them play at the tavern."
"Oh, Guardok's made it too!" At sight of the earth genasi, Mei stands up on her chair and waves lest he miss them, haphazard as ever.
"It was..." The purple-skinned tiefling says and draws the raven-haired beauty in for a good night kiss. "...and thank you for tonight." He says and gives her an affectionate hug before watching her step inside her dorms, then cheerfully walking back to Dresar hall with his purple tail swaying happily behind him.
