Mei, nearly still now save for a tiny shuffle forward, nods, though her eyes do flick to Malvyn at mention of Aurora. "Of... course! I can't wait!" She hopes Mae will be able to enjoy playing in the showband, where she isn't forced to be the center of attention but can share the burden of the spotlight with others. "What instrument will you... focus on? Is there... singing in showband? Or, ah... I guess that's more... choir?"
"That's right, we'll definitely be there to watch", Guardok says in agreement with Mal.
"It sounds like Rubina is going to be busy, I am meeting her in the morning to practice as well", he then pipes in. "Which is why I will be heading straight to sleep when we get back, can't be yawning through my lines", he says chuckling.
“Oh.” Mei stops entirely as she watches the others walk ahead. Her brows furrows at the ground, grip loosening on Knap’s legs. Everyone has… other plans? Having hoped they’d all hang out or play games together in the lounge, Knap’s passing comment about the group separating after this year weighs even more heavily on her mind.
Her hands release his fuzzy legs entirely to worry at the ends of her braids, lost in foggy thoughts.
Knap lands on his rump with squeal of delight. “Can we cheer and whistle, sing along, chant your name, Mae Mae Mae?” Knap sing-songs on the ground. “He stands up and assumes the ridee position in expectation of Mei taking her turn. “I gotta say something special about the Bardic arts. The power to soothe, or, to break a heart.”
"Knap!" Mei chirps, spinning to check he's okay and making herself dizzy in the process. When he offers a ride in return, and waxes lyrically on, she sighs with relief. After a moment's consideration, she climbs on Knap's back, hooking her ankles around his middle and snaking her arms about his neck to hang on, having no idea what sort of ride she was in for with the whimsical satyr.
A feeling of nostalgia cuts through the fog of cocktails. She did this with her brothers when she was small too. When she was still allowed to roughhouse with them. They'd run through the groves, her bouncing on their back and seeming as strong as her father. She never felt quite as safe as she did when close to them. But then her Dreaming showed itself and she was largely separated from her siblings lest she be injured during play. Besides, there were 'more important things to do than play' after that.
Hit by a pang of homesickness, her arms tighten around Knap's neck ever so slightly.
"I thought we planned to hang out in the lounge a while now?"Malvyn says, looking over at Guardok with a slightly confused look. "Surely you can stay up a while longer as we get back? The night is still young and you can't be rehearsing lines that early on a saturday right?"
"Oh, a choir? I don't know..." Mae begins to look visibly confused by everyone. "Um, yes, I suppose you could. I don't know if they go for that sort of thing...I mean you're welcome to come to performances..." She stops and her eyes dart back and forth between the others. "Are you two okay?"She looks at Mei and Knap.
Feeling a little foolish over their antics and not wishing to embarrass anyone, Mei nods and tries to clear her mind, realizing it's probably not much fun to be sober around tipsy people.
"I'm okay! Just being, um... silly, I guess," she blushes as she begins to slide off Knap's back.
Remembering Maeleve mentioned she was meeting Aurora and Rubina later, Mei asks, "You're meeting with the others tonight then, Mae? And if you need to get some sleep, Guardok, that's okay! Sleep is important!" she chuckles, knowing how that sounds coming from her. "Maybe we could go somewhere else so we don't wake you up?" Her eyes glide from aasimar to genasi to tiefling and finally to satyr. "You mentioned somewhere with a view of Strixhaven, didn't you, Knap?"
After various antics and many discussions that don't go much of anywhere, the group of floormates (or most at least), finally arrive back on the 4th floor of Dresar Hall.
There is light coming from the study room, but the rest of the floor seems fairly quiet.
Having relented on heading straight to bed after seeing how disappointed some of the others were at his plan, Guardok is intrigued to see the study room light on when they make it back to Dresar floor.
”Wow, I didn’t think there could be anyone more keen to study than you Mal”, he jokes, as he heads over to take a peek.
Mae shook her head once, "Not tonight, but sometime soon I will meet with them." She still felt a bit confused but walked back to the hall in quiet contemplation, humming softly now and then. Seeing the light on in the study room she couldn't remember if it was on all the time or not and went over to investigate in case there was visitor. If not, she'd find a place to sit and set herself down gently suddenly feeling a bit tired.
As Guardok and Mae make it over to the study room, they see that Lesviel is there reading a book. She quickly notices them and gives them a brief wave. "Good evening. Oh, Guardok! I was hoping I would run into you. It seems our itinerant floormate has appeared."
(And of course anyone else who might have wanted over to the study room is welcome to have also been there.)
"It's okay to be a bit silly though right, certainly a night like this."Malvyn says to the purple-haired diviner as he walks up by her side as the group continues on to Dresar Hall.
As the floor mates reach the 4th flor via the levitation disk, standing fairly tight together, Malvyn too notices the light from the study room and quickly follows Guardok and Mae over there, giving the genasi a grin over his teasing joke. "Haven't you heard, I practically live in the Biblioplex now with all the shelving. It turns out being so interested in the books I shelf that I often stop and start reading them does not make me a very efficient help." He says quietly just before they look into the study room.
"Good evening Lesviel." Malvyn says cheerfully with more confidence since they first met. "We were thinking of hanging out a while in the lounge before turning in for the night. Would you like to join us?"He says with a polite smile, while casting a curious glance over at what the blonde Elf is reading. "And we should ask Piero too of course." He says, turning to Guardok.
Lesviel nods. "Yes, he came over just a short while ago," she tells Guardok. "Evidently Professor Sharpbeak caught up with him and the young lady he was with. I'm pretty sure he's still here in the room." She then turns to Malvyn after his question. "I suppose I could join your for a little bit. What's on the agenda. Did you all just get back from somewhere?"
"I expect he might not be too happy if he has been forced to stay here", Guardok muses. "I'll go and check on him, but wouldn't be surprised if he wants to be left alone".
He leaves the others to answer Lesviel and makes his way back to his room.
He opens the door quietly, just in case Piero is sleeping, first looking for any light as he does so. If there is some light, he will say, "Hey Piero, how are you doing?".
"Ah yes, the roomate," Piero says as Guardokenters. He is sitting on the bed, looking through a few papers. He stops though, and looks up at the earth genassi, staying quiet.
"That's me, but I prefer Guardok", Guardok replies congenially. "I am surprised to see you here in truth, but glad to finally get to meet you. Fancy hanging in the lounge for a bit?".
Although he acts friendly, he does try and decipher his room mates mood from his tone.

"Oh, we just had dinner at the taverna. No agenda as such I think but I'm sure we are all open to suggestions. Anything we should do as newly arrived first-year students?" The purple-skinned Tiefling says curiously, stepping slightly closer to the blonde Elf to be able to spot what she is reading.
While Mae and Malvyn head into the study room to speak with Lesviel, and as Guardok heads off back to his room, Mei slips off into her own to retrieve a few things.
