Wham! A flash of light streaks across the room from Jurgen toward one of the dripping wet goons, knocking her clear off her feet and onto the floor, stone dead.
Jurgen drops the bonfire and charges, but can only close the distance. (Dash)
Bryony charges after Jurgen, leaping atop the barrels and onto the last, wounded goon. She skewers him with both blades, killing him on the spot.
Quinn moves to follow the first set of bootprints he saw upon entering this room. He follows the boots heading towards the stairs on the opposite of the room. He looks back at the cistern and ponders why someone would have intentionally walked through the cistern and headed this way.
He turns back to the group and speaking in hushed tones says "Someone...search that cistern. These wet tracks mean someone must've walked through it before heading this way. Perhaps something was stashed."
Quinn stands with his axe at the ready at the top of the stairs.

Quinn and Kimberley follow the wet bootprints up the short flight of stairs to the first landing, and then up the second flight to a door – about where the bootprints dry up. (Make a Survival check to try to follow it any further.)
Bryony heeds Quinn's instruction and decides to check the cistern first. She'll get up on the edge and peer down into the water, checking to see if anything was stashed or hidden anywhere either in the water or perhaps underneath the edge.
Jurgen finds that all three Redbrands wear belt pouches holding treasure. The first holds 16 sp and 7 gp; the second holds 12 sp and 5 gp; and the third holds 20 cp, 11 ep, and two small red gemstones.
Bryony examines the cistern, feeling around the edge and peering into its depths. The rectangular reservoir is clean and filled with cold, fresh water. It is 10 feet deep with a rim 2 feet higher than the surrounding floor (so that the bottom of the cistern is 8 feet below the floor). Drainpipes from above appear designed to fill the cistern with water. A three-foot length of submerged rope is attached to a ring affixed to the south wall of the cistern, about two feet below water’s surface, but its other end floats free, unattached to anything.
Kimberley sees not one but two sets of recent, wet prints that exit through the door at the top of the stairs on the east wall – one set of humanoid bootprints and one set of tiny three-clawed birdlike feet. They are rapidly drying up.
Kimberley opens the door – another set of stone stairs leads east, up into the daylight. The bottom of the stairs against the door is choked with shallow layers of old leaves and dirt. The midday sky is visible above you, and the air smells fresh, warm, and earthy here. There are no signs of anyone here.
But there is no next room. Just a stairway leading up into the open air. (Do you wish to ascend it?) The tracks of the wet feet you followed are immediately lost in the dirty steps, exposed to the elements. There are a variety of faint shoe prints on and around the steps, but it's a jumbled mess of new and old, of humanoid feet going up and down these steps.
Bryony follows the others up the stairs and out into the daylight. She squints her eyes at the harsh glare. They've been underground for a while now, and she had grown accustomed to the dim light below.
"Hate to say it but I think we lost him unless someone is really good at tracking."
