If Jurgan had not refused the gold earlier perhaps Syzygy may have let the slipping Kobold fall. But Zyzygy still felt as though he owes Jurgan so he reaches out to catch him.

The little kobold is heavier than he looks. Jurgen crashes awkwardly into Syzygy, and they both tumble to the base of the shaft, prone. Jurgen takes3 bludgeoning damage and Syzygy takes 4 bludgeoning damage. The wolves jump back in alarm, although they remain mostly passive, even as they beg for food and give Tessa suspicious looks.
Sir Roderick, at the top of the shaft, is only dimly aware of what's happening below him. He still can't see who is in the dark room, although he hears three distinct voices. The roar of falling water to the north makes the conversation all but inaudible, even if he understood the language. He can see at least one of the crates along the south wall is marked with the stylized image of a lion.
(Anyone who wants to climb the chimney and join Sir Roderick must make a DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check. On a successful check, you move at half speed up the shaft, as desired. On a check result of 6–9, you struggle with the climb and take 10 minutes to ascend the shaft. On a result of 5 or less, you get a short way up the shaft before falling, taking bludgeoning damage before landing at the base of the shaft with the prone condition. The same goes for descending the shaft – for instance, if Roderick decides to climb back down.)
Still unable to see much, Sir Roderick climbs all the way up into the dark chamber. He hopes the nearby stalagmite keeps him out of view. (Sir Roderick: Make a Stealth check with Advantage because of the water noise.)
An old, blackened iron hook sits forgotten behind him, deeply embedded in the wall above the fissure. It might have once been a hook for a hoist or a chamber pot, but now it makes a conveniently strong spot to tie off his rope.
Anyone may now climb the natural chimney without rolling.

The wolves growl at Tessa as she enters the den cave. The jerky keeps them just sufficiently occupied to keep them from snacking on her, instead.

Sir Roderick manages to climb 30 feet up the natural rock fissure. It is very dark, but he can see a fire-illuminated space above. (Anyone who follows him should also make a DC10 Strength (Athletics) check.)

Jurgen will follow Sir Roderick up.

Jurgen finds the climb particularly difficult on his delicate kobold physique. He struggles with the ascent. (He can push through and persevere, but it'll take a full 10 minutes for Jurgen to ascend the shaft.)
Tossing his jerky toll to the wolves, Zyzygy shuffles with his back pressed to the wall "good doggy".
"Wait for me" he hisses under his breath.
Athletics: 12 + 1 = 13
Despite his fraility, Syzygy was accostemed to crawling in and out of holes. He notices Jurgen have trouble making the climb. What an odd Kobold he thinks to himself. "Let me help you there."
(Jurgen makes a second DC10 Strength (Athletics) check: 1)
Syzygy attempts to help Jurgen find his footing, but manages to trip him up instead. Jurgen begins to slip and fall...
If Jurgan had not refused the gold earlier perhaps Syzygy may have let the slipping Kobold fall. But Zyzygy still felt as though he owes Jurgan so he reaches out to catch him.
Athletics: 9 + 1= 10
The little kobold is heavier than he looks. Jurgen crashes awkwardly into Syzygy, and they both tumble to the base of the shaft, prone. Jurgen will cast Cure Wounds on Syzygy for 6 healing
D&D since 1984
Jurgen asks Sir Roderick to drop a rope down as that should help us climb up.
D&D since 1984
It didn't add the +5 so that's a total of 10 points of healing
D&D since 1984
Sir Roderick climbs up into the chamber above and lowers a rope down.....assuming he isn't instantly killed by hidden goblins....
Still unable to see much, Sir Roderick climbs all the way up into the dark chamber. He hopes the nearby stalagmite keeps him out of view. (Sir Roderick: Make a Stealth check with Advantage because of the water noise.)
