The harengon blinks at Robin. "Um, I'm not sure actually. I think I do remember coming here once before, a long time ago." He looks around at the attractions nearby. "Yes, it seems quite familiar." Looking back at Robin, "But I don't remember losing anything in particular. Why do you say that? Have you lost something?"
He turns his head to follow Brenviel's pointed finger, then looks down and checks the leather pouch hanging on the belt that is cinching in his loose-fitting dusky orange tunic. Looking back up at Brenviel, he says, "I don't seem to be missing anything. I didn't see which way the hopper hopped either. But then, I'm terrible with directions at the best of times. You didn't happen to see which way I was going, did you?"
"Hopper? nevermind, come with us, friend, we will surely find your way along the ride...." Marwan notes, before leaning into his companions for a whisper "I believe that there is indeed a Kenku watching us, it seemed to me that it used some sort of magic to make itself look like a dwarf. Perhaps that halfling couple is related, anyone else see anything?"

“I saw a toad…thing. It was staring at this poor lost Harengon in a way that seemed…unsettling. It hopped away behind that tree over there. I think we should follow it to see where it went. Maybe the ‘other side’ is off that way as well??”
(How much of this does Robin see? Is the Kenku/Dwarf wearing the butterfly wings? Does the halfling not punching his ticket gain her notice of looking for targets of the thieves? What about the toady?)...
" It doesn't make sense that the toad would steal from someone clearly wearing the fake wings", Robin says to the discussion of the toad. "At least something intangible like a sense of direction. Were the Kenku and hobbits wearing the fake wings?"
"Couldn't really tell from the angle I was at, though, that is the second mention of a toad thing I've heard today, and last time we asked about it, we got important clues from the carousel, I think there is prudence to the idea that the frog-thing may have a way to the other side, Perhaps we could lay a trap, we may have already lost it, after all, i can provide some bait with illusion magic, theoretically." Marwan notes, recalling their encounter at the carousel.

"Wait Marwen? WHAT clues from the carousel? How about I fly up and see if I can see anything from the air. Meanwhile, is anyone skilled at following tracks from where the toad was last seen?"
After hearing a response, Robin flies up and looks for toad people. Perception 12 on cha sheet.
If she doesn't see a toad person, does her aerial view help her see kenku (or dwarves with kenku shadows or such) in the crowd? Another per roll?
She lands and reports to the group, UNLESS she sees the toad. In THAT case, she'll yell "TOAD! (points) Follow me!" and give chase.
OOC: Brenviel would also like to walk across the path and do an investigate / nature / perception check of some kind, if possible, to see if they can pick up the toad’s trail. They won’t move to follow without agreement from the group, though.

”Oh, thank you, that’s very kind of you. My name is Cadence, by the way. Cadence of the Wind. It’s not my birth name, but it’s the one my adopted family gave me. I’ll happily come along with you until I find my way. Maybe I can help. What are you all looking for?”
Xivros was distracted by the figurine of Tasha and missed some of what was being talked about until everyone started shouting to follow a toad person and asked about tracking. "Trackin is less about following footprints and more about anticipation. Especially in a place like this. You watch the crowd, you think about where somethin' or someone would go. An animal looks for food, water, and some'll look for a place to hide."
"Oh, various things, lost displacer beasts, things we ourselves lost, I hope to return everything that's been lost, but, we aren't close enough to be worrying about that, it is nice to meet you cadence." Marwan then turns to address Robin "Apologies, you weren't there, we went to the carousel and asked about a toad person, the lady had us write the names of the unicorns onto them, and the unicorns in return told us who stole our stuff, and where they live, in a general sense, as I recall there was a swamp, a forest, and a mountain...I wrote it all down." he shows Robin a note covered in unreadable chicken scratch, not very helpful.

"Oh, that's a coincidence!" Says Cadence. "That everyone's lost something I mean. These toad people sound very suspicious. If they have something to do with it then we'd better hop to it and track them down. I don't know anything about marshes or forests though. Or mountains for that matter. Kind of you to let me tag along though." He places one paw inside the othet in front of his chest and bows slightly towards Marwan.
unfortunately, Marwan's chicken scratch remains indecipherable by non-magical means, it seems obvious to Robin that Marwan has lost his ability to write, though, simply from that. "it is no problem, my friend, anyone who has lost something is free to join if they are willing" Marwan adds, towards cadence, he tries to mimic the bow to be polite

You can make investigation and perception rolls to see if you are able to spot more, specifically trying to identify the kenku. The toad has simply disappeared.

Seeing Robin fly back down with no luck, Marwan also begins to look around, he doesn't spot anything (rolled a 3, for perception in the game log) and has lost the kenku in the crowd. perhaps they will be able to lure out the frog later with Marwan's plan, though, they will have to discuss that somewhere that the frog can't see, though, it is equally possible that the frog won't be interested in their plan, better to be safe than sorry.

Xivros watches the others try to find the scattered suspects, but without his tracking skills needed, he's not sure what to contribute. "Ah'll just be over here when y'all find somethin."
Brenviel walks over to join Xivros, while still keeping one eye on the crowd , scanning for signs of the Kenku [see investigation check above, rolled a 23].
“So, Sir Xivros… Is it Xivros, or do you prefer Xiv?
What’s that you were saying back at the caravans about sneaking in here as a child? I didn’t realize you had done so as well, I thought I was the only one and I’ve been too ashamed to mention it…”

You all see the halfling. The rest only see what was mentioned.
You run around the tree, but the toad has disappeared.
Yes, the Kenku did have fairy wings on.

Robin has no luck flying up to look for the toad.
She rolls 21 Perception (cha sheet) to look for the Kenku (or dwarf that looks like a disguised kenku) before she lands.
