We seek lawful entry and brief sanctuary after hostile engagement beyond these walls.
If you require oaths, ... briefly considers Starker's collections.... hmmm... inspection, or customs duties to expedite this process, we will comply within reason and with honor.
Kragen steps forward. "Kragen Gravelbeard, of the Galena Mountains, Clan Delhalls, humble Cleric of Tyr. My compatriots have indicated our genuine intent and desire to lawfully enter this jurisdication. We have a recent acquaintance Serethia of Neverwinter we intend to consult and procure transport to Waterdeep." Nods that he has communicated diplomatically and steps back.
The compartment slides closed and the door opens. Beyond is a large foyer. A central desk has a human man in robes sitting behind it. Many people of many species roam among shelves of books and scrolls. This is a library. A nice one. Floors are marble and the furniture is luxurious.
Starker <he thinks inaudibly under his breath>: “harrumph. It is a simple scientific demonstration of the use of folding reality, not a poetry exhibition. Let’s hope his need for an extra syllable for proper scansion doesn’t send us back into the maws of the mukdaks or Menlor’s tempestuous embrace.”
steps through.
/ooc. This made me laugh more than I probably should have.
"Well that certainly saved us a lot of time. I could get used to that."
Chadwick walks over to the human man.
"Excuse me sir. How do we get out of here? "
Once directions are achieved.
"My friends the time in that gods awful place has left me a strong need to visit Tyr's temple. I need to unload both my spirit and these (jiggles pilfered saddle bags). While it may be tempting for us to all wander off and to accomplish errands I think it's best we stick together.
Xymox's recounting of our exploits while rousing, has potentially reached the ears of folks that would be interested in what we found. And we do tend to stand out in a crowd.
Is there anything anyone needs to accomplish before we try and secure passage?"
"It would do my soul well to seek Tyrs radiant counsel. The wizard was wrapped up in a web od deciet i cannot unwind. Tyrs divine perspective may help.us identify the puppet master and thier master skeem. I fear we only k iw part of the story."
"Should we also call on our Tiefling friend Serethia and see how she fares?"
"Let us be about it."
Kragen approaches the central desk with Chadwick
"Sir, would you mind providing directions to the Temple of Tyr? We seek his radiant sanctuary."
"Prior to leaving Illandials warrens, i spent time communicating with our Company interests in the deep wave mine. Recovery progressed, we should meet with Cleggor at our earlier convience in Shalecliff. No issues reported, we probably need to secure means of arranging remittance of our share."
"Additionally, have word from Xygag. We are to meet him at the raging lion in the north ward. Order a plate of boiling eels and pitchers of mt waterdeep kolsch." Cocks his head oddly at the instructions.
Starker:”I am in Tyr’s debt for the many times Father Kragen and Sir Chadwick have channeled his power to save me. I will *leave this library* and go to his temple with you.”
The librarian directs you towards the front doors on the other side of the foyer. You exit to the bright day, the sun momentarily dazzling you. The city of Neverwinter is a busy place. You are north of the river near the wharf. It looks to be a nice area of town with guild halls, estate homes and businesses located on the street. The smell of the ocean greets you was well. Tyr's temple is located on the southern side of the harbor. Making your way there is easily accomplished across one of the several bridges spanning the river. Boats and ships are busy loading on the harbor. You guess that it is close to a high tide at this point.
The temple is grand. A citadel within the city. Kragen and Chadwick are able to get you through the main doors and into the worship area. Beyond are barracks and a training yard for practice of the martial arts. An acolyte greets you in the chapel, "Greetings Brothers." He addresses Chadwick and Kragen initially. "Justice be With You. How can I assist you?," he asks.

Greetings Brother, by Tyr's good grace, you are a welcome sight for these weary travelers. I am Kragen Gravelbeard, humble servant of the Justice Bringer, Dwarven Clan Delhalls in the Vaasa Mountains. Bows politley to the acolyte
Might i ask for the Temple's hospitality for me and my companions? A humble place to refresh ourselves and a quiet place for Chadwick and i to refresh our spirits with Tyr's radiance as well. Please accept this silver on behalf of Brother Chadwick and I, to advance the Justice Bringers fine work here. hands the acolyte 5, 10 lb bars of silver (250gp worth).
Might we also request an audience with the high priest? We have recently encountered and dispatched a Wizarrd whom was seeking Lichdom and had foul intent. We wish to confer and gsin guidance/insight if there are more to this story than we have discovered.
The Acolyte smiles, "Of course Brothers. Hospitality is open to you and your guests." The last part said with a sideways glance at Xymox. "Oh my!," he then exclaims as the silver trade bars are brought forth. Two others come to his aid and help him with the unexpected load.
A priest comes to join you after an opportunity to get your travels washed off of you and a meal. "I am Jornan, of the order. The acolyte who assisted you earlier spoke of your need for guidance, as well as your generosity. How can I assist you Brothers," he asks Kragen and Chadwick. The phrasing "of the order" signifies that he is a priest.
"Brother Jornan, thank you for the attending us." Kragen reached into his backpack, pulls out the Journal of illandial. Offers it to Jornan. "Has the Temple heard of a wizard named Illiandil whom was seeking immortality through lichdom?", "We recently infiltrated his lair in the north and were able to find him in the abyss. We were able to vanquish his mortal form and find the vessel maintaining his soul. With the help of the Lord of Axiom and a Titan, Tyr destroyed his phylactery."
"However ghere is evidence he was not avting alone. Would the temple have additional information which moght help us identify the other actors?"
"Additionally, we hsve an artifact of this wizards that i would sdk the temple to research." Kragen pulls the staff og the void from his backpack, unwraps the cloth covering it.
Starker (triumphantly, almost giddy):”Yes! We must study the Staff of the Void, not destroy it!!!!
“I would be happy to help with the investigation of the staff. We have been asked to bring it to Xagyg. I have particularly been warned against attempting to attune to it. I can’t imagine why.
<holding up a collection of cords and wires>”I have here the Quipu of Illiandal. I am making progress, albeit slow progress, in untangling the meaning knotted within it. If you know of anyone who might accelerate my progress I would be grateful.”
The priest seems taken aback by the intensity of the information given. “I can ask among my colleagues. The name Illiandil is vaguely familiar. But, I do not know anything specific,” he replies. He looks at the staff and the star filled orb at its cap, “ Um, what exactly are you hoping for with that? One of the wizard guilds is likely a better place to enquire.”

Apologize for my brevity, Brother Jornan. nods his head in appreciation. We have been gone long serving the Justice Bringers judgement to this Wizard and are in need of haste, thus the manner in which i portray the past few months. Your discretion in this manner is appreciated. There is more afoot around what this wizard aspired to achieve, which effects more than just our world here on Faerun. Please let me know if the Temple may be of assistance. We intend to secure passage to Waterdeep soon, as we have business there.
Kragen addresses the group. Should we send someone to the docks to inquire into passage to Waterdeep? How about the Wizards guild to see if we could procure another means of transport?

Xymox to the Company under his breath: "We are being observed. There is a scrying sensor above us."

A small courtly bow

“Welcome to Neverwinter and The Three Towers. The toll of 5 gold per traveler can be placed in the compartment of the door,” the voice replies.
Kragen waddles over, rummages into his overfull backpack and places a Silver Trade Bar into the compartment. "Will this suffice, Trademaster?"
The compartment slides closed and the door opens. Beyond is a large foyer. A central desk has a human man in robes sitting behind it. Many people of many species roam among shelves of books and scrolls. This is a library. A nice one. Floors are marble and the furniture is luxurious.

Never had a doubt about old Gumby getting the workforce together for them.
Sounds like an interesting menu at the Raging Lion. After our experiences in Monsterdrank my palate has become a bit less adventurous.
