Yartol over TheCompanyNet, ***...I hope he can't read my mind about how weird he smells. Gryndreneur will smell us coming a mile away if that dwarf doesn't bathe...***
A brief pause follows the establishment of TheCompanyNet. One wall of the room then begins to change. It starts to swirl, the wood paneling seemingly melting and swirling around a central point in the wall. A purple/black point of energy appears in the center of the developing vortex. This expands, bright purple energy crackles around the edges with a central ebon black core. Purplish lightning crackles around the edges as magical energy builds. The vortex seems to stabilize with the sparks and bolts of magical energy swirl about the central core that seems to be filled with nothingness.
Starker, aloud:”I will wait a moment or two. If nothing comes through, I will attempt to enter it. I an curious.”
walks over to vortex. If nothing happens in two minutes, gathers up Cyrus and attemots to walk through the vortex, providing narration over TheCompanyNet. .
The Company steps through the portal finding Starker speaking with three dwarves and a 7' tall armored construct with glowing green points of light peering from within the great helm on its head.
TheCompanyNet:Connection reestablished.
You are standing in the center of a circular chamber about 100 feet diameter. The ceiling is a faceted dome of decorative iron framework and glass panes. Through the glass you see a silvery 'sky' with points of blazing light seen in the distance, scattered like stars. The room has a stone floor, paved in seamless fitting basalt blocks. The circular wall encompassing the room is about 10' high around the perimeter of the room. It is stone as well and expertly crafted. Four doors are present, evenly spaced at 90 degree points. Before you stands a wizened dwarf in a wizardly looking robe. He holds a staff of unknown wood capped with mitril. His beard is long and braided with many gems and baubles of silver, gold and platinum set with gems. Several rings are on his fingers and a large gold necklace supports a medallion of some kind. Standing next to him is a construct of a 7' tall biped. It has half-plate armor, a great helm and gauntlets. Two pin-points of green light shine from within the helm where eyes would be. Two other robed dwarves flank the wizened dwarf. You readily notice that both have a Talisman of Xagyg woven into their beards. Each has his own staff, rings and has many baubles woven into their impressive beards as well. All stare at you with the endurance of a mountain behind their eyes.
You seem to have arrived through the portal mid-conversation.
Dwarf to the far left is frowning. More so that resting-frowny-face that most dwarves excel at wearing, "Mmmph..."
The far right dwarf breaks his own RFF enough to appear to be cracking a small smile, "You were close, Baldruin. One through, without the staff, some kind of spell preparation in place, and plans to relay safety once through. All but it being the paladin. So close." The last sentence said with clear sarcasm. "I will enjoy spending your platinum on my next visit to Bral," he adds.

Xymox will cast the super communication spell.
Yartol accepts the spell.
Starker again takes out the hematite gemstone engraved with the dwarven rune X. It gives of a faint bluish light. He sits down.
To his relief, Starker’s talisman has a faint blue glow.
Starker, over TheCompanyNet, “I have only interacted with Xagyg twice and those times briefly. Does anyone know what we should expect?

Starker, over TheCompanyNet: ’Is this an adit or an exit, ingress or egress?”
Xymox: "No idea. I was going to ask you, my good mage."

Xymox to the others: "I think that we should follow him...before he gets us in trouble." The bard raises and eyebrow and heads towards the portal.
Yartol nods and moves with Xymox, to the portal.

The three of you approach the portal. You can feel the magical energy raise the hair on the back of your neck.
Kragen follows the others.
(No one has stepped into the portal. Only approached.)
