Starker sees Kragen and Chadwick conferring and looks in the direction they are looking at, and whispers to Erbert: “Study time might be ending. The Twins of Tyr seem to have a chase in view.”
Erbert looks up at Starker, lost in his thoughts, then quickly comes round. “Oh, yes? What are they getting into? My my, so much to digest. This fellow that we are dealing with is a naughty, naughty boy. And quite powerful. Really interesting reading…”. he stands and gathers himself, wandering over to see what is occuring.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Starker and Erbert look up from their review of Illiandil's Journal and the Quipu of Xathuul in time to see two of the kaorti creatures emerge from the ruins. Both are walking towards you. One heads towards Kragen and Chadwick. The other towards the wizards. Each is encased in a suit of armor made from the same resin substance you saw in Illiandil's Abyss Tomb. Their prehensile tentacle 'figers' writhe about at the ends of their arms. Neither responds to Chadwick's addressing them.
The guards are alerted and ready their crossbows waiting for orders.
Erbert tells his guards, “Fill them full of bolts if they get close enough!” He backs up 15-20 feet or so and casts Mordenkainen’s Faithful Hound, and looks at the ground right beside him saying “Stay with me boy, good boy, you protect your daddy. If anyone comes close, you bark to let me know, and bite their ass! Maybe we’ll play some invisible catch later. Be on guard, bad guys comin’ protect your daddy!” He talks in mushy mushy talk like he sees a dog that he is very fond of.

Trolkarl moves up, interposing himself between the Kaorti and the bookworms. Darkbane is in hand. Xymox readies his crossbows and finds cover. Erbert casts a spell….and starts speaking to an imaginary dog (?). Starker’s spell strikes its first target, Lightning plays across the surface of its armor. The creature stiffens and is clearly harmed by the spell. The orb then flies towards the second one, narrowly missing the mark.
Kragen emerges from behind the defilade, points The Judge at Kaorti 2. "face Tyr's judgement, vile creature."
a dolorious bell tolls loudily.
Toll the Dead 7+2=9 necrotic damage. Wis Save 16
BA
Kragen then holds The Judge upright and prays to Tyr. "The spirit of this Hammer will serve Tyr's justice." A spectral hammer appears next to Kaorti 2 and then swings at the creature.
Spiritual Weapon 1+8=9 to hit (apparently you have manipulated D&D beyond to align with your wishes!!) Dam 2+4 = 6
Erbert is trying to gauge the strength of these Kaorti, considering launching a burning fireball, but instead launches a bolt of fire at the northern one, then moves behind the tower, seeking cover. His invisible hound stays nearby to help.
Fire bolt : 13 to hit, for 17 points of fire damage.
