If the other pile of coins marked on the map as ‘pit trap’ is still not taken care of, Starker will redo the Jievs/prestidigitation thing to to get yhe coins and see it it, too, is actually a trap. (Map shows one as cleared, one still in initial configuration).
if it has been taken care of then Starker will continue to dig around where the bag was found after detecting magic as discussed above.
Starker: “perhaps we should set a limit to our time here such that we can get to the tower with plenty of sunshine left to cover our retreat.”
A quick check at the end of the cave tunnel shows it to be early afternoon at this point.
You continue to dig and Hoid encounters something solid. Clearing away the sand you find a small chest. It rattles with loose coins as you free it from the sand. There is a latch, but no lock.
“Let’s focus around the area where that sack was unearthed and keep digging. That does not seem sufficient for the blue man to make comments about the dragon’s greed.”
Kragen will continue to assist, for a short period. While doing so, "We should keep a good understanding of the light conditions on the surface if we are to investigate the tower."
"I suggest we be quick about the search and move on to the potential captives and or cleansing this place of evil.", "My main intent is to stop the evil that has manifest here and taking innocent lives from the surrounding area."
Continues to dig/search in earnest with furrowed brow.
Starker says, “Potion is probably a Potion of Water Breathing. Any of you strong swimmers who might be willing to take it and see what’s at the bottom of that pool over there or where it might lead if it is a watery passageway?”
Kragen is right. We are at a disadvantage when the darkness comes. Perhaps we should first investigate the tower and check if any fresh bodies at the bottom of the cliff can be identified. Whatever the evil thing those orcs were feeding up above needs to be stopped.
Exploring the pool after those priorities seems like a very good idea. I wasn't sure if the dragon came from out of the pool or from the passage; in either case, checking it seems like a worthy fishing expedition. When the time comes- Gneuman has stated that he is fast and a good swimmer. I think he can make it.
Kragen to Hoid and then the rest of the group. "I will assist you in bringing the chest to the surface."
louder for the others to hear. "If we are to search the Tower for villagers, we need to make for the surface, determine our approach strategy and move forward to leave us time to exit prior to dark.", "Tyr is powerful, however i am not sure that he is able to protect us all from the undead."
Starker gathers up Cyrus Magnus, MMM, and heads up stairs. He’s held onto the Minor Illusion scroll unless anyone objected. On the second step down from the top he sprinkles a line of sand across the step in the hopes that anyone coming down will disturb it and leave sign of their passage for us to find when/if we come back to renew our quest for the balance of the hoard. He calls out “Be mindful of the line of sand on the second step down from the top. It may serve as warning should someone sneak down here while we attend to the tower.”
You all make your way up to the surface. It is early afternoon. The sky is clear with a few cotton clouds. It is a lovely day.
A high tower sits in the courtyard. It is constructed of tightly fitting stone blocks and well made. There is an open top with battlements. You can see gutters running down the tower to direct water from the roof away from the tower at the base through buried drains. There is a large double door solidly made of oak with iron bands. You can see small windows on the upper levels that have solid stone shutters blocking them. The tower appears unaffected by the time that has led to the collapse of the keep walls and the manor house.
Two thick posts are set in the ground about 20’ from the tower door. They appear to have been placed recently given the bare dirt around their bases. There are ropes with what appear to be leather restraints on the ends hanging from each post.
Chadwick searches the double door at the base of the tower. They are strong appearing door made of oak with reinforcing iron bands. There is a large handle on each of the doors made of iron. No locks or other mechanisms can be seen. There are no traps he can see.
(( The orcs were searched in the previous fight ))

Open the small chest.
Starker says, “Potion is probably a Potion of Water Breathing. Any of you strong swimmers who might be willing to take it and see what’s at the bottom of that pool over there or where it might lead if it is a watery passageway?”
Hoid opens the small chest without trouble. Inside, he finds:
Loose coins 1,955cp, 640sp, 20gp
Bone scroll case: 2 scrolls (Wizard-Minor Illusion, Cleric-Faerie Fire)
Gold signet ring 25g (Found Signet Ring on Items list using your character sheet)
This still seems like insufficient loot for the dragon the be greedy. Do we continue to dig?

The dragon came from the cave passage to the cliff face.

Moves toward the exit of the cavern.
"I agree it's time to move on towards the tower. Most likely still treasure around here, but I doubt anyone will be come digging around here soon."
"I'm going to grab some tools, we might have to open that tower door the hard way."
Chadwick grabs a blanket from the bunk area for a make shift bag and throws in two of; picks, axes, hammers, and 4 spikes. Then heads up with Kragen.
Kragen and Chadwick head up the stairs to the surface.
Others plans?
Gneuman will accompany them.
Moving up the stairs toward the tower

Good thinking!

Chadwick will check out the doors for any traps. Once anyone else who wishes to do has, he'll check if the doors are locked.
Perception:10
Have we looted the orcs?
Chadwick searches the double door at the base of the tower. They are strong appearing door made of oak with reinforcing iron bands. There is a large handle on each of the doors made of iron. No locks or other mechanisms can be seen. There are no traps he can see.

I’ll take ownership of the Cleric scroll barring any objections.
