Kragen turns and spots the Manticore, holding his holy symbol toward the beast. “Tyrs wrath upon this evil beast!” A flash of light streaks from the “scales of justice” towards the Manticore.
Guiding Bolt 1st lvl
to hit 12+4=16
damage = 11
then Shepards Donkey west towards the bush, while securing his pack pack to the pommel.
Kragen's Guiding Bolt strikes the manticore, searing it with radiant damage. It howls in pain and is now outlined in a dim glow of radiant energy making it easier to see. ((The next attack before the end of Kragen's next turn is at Advantage))
Orc 5 engages and attacks Gneuman with its battle axe landing a vicious blow, To Hit = 15, damage = 10 slashing.
Gneuman lashes out at the orc to no avail. It dodges his blows or its armor absorbs them.
The manticore climbs up to 20' high and flies over the group of you roaring loudly. It fires three tail spikes at Trolkarl, To Hit = 12, 20, 13, 1 hit for 8 piercing damage.
Trolkarl horse save = 18
Raspy's save = 2
Starker Animal Handling check = 4.
Starker's horse is spooked by the manticore. Despite his best efforts, it is now running away from the fight.
All below is contingent on the manticore is still flying and not dropping from the radiant damage above- else I will need to replot with intent to support Genuman
Bonus action: Condemn hex on manticore with disadvantage on WIS
Bonus Action
A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven’t already taken a bonus action this turn. You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.
Action:Eldritch Blast cantrip with guilding bolt advantage and bless
The manticore howls in pain as Trolkarl erupts in radiant energy that flashes back and engulfs the manticore. It flies on past Trolkarl after loosing its tail spines clearly badly injured. Trolkarl follows up with another Eldritch Blast inflicting lethal harm to the beast. It falls to the ground with a loud THUD!!
Orc 1 turns and flees.
Belgger uses an action surge to attack the orc in front of him twice, To Hit = 7, 17. One hit with his battle axe for 10 slashing damage, killing the orc. He then closes on the orcs facing Gneuman.
Starker tries to calm Raspy, maybe even get him headed north. If succesful and still within 60’ of Orc5, Mind Sliver at him. (The target must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw or take 1d6 psychic damage and subtract 1d4 from the next saving throw it makes before the end of your next turn.)
Hoid will shoot orc 1. 13 to hit. If the orc has its back turned and that provides advantage, second to hit roll is 5. 13 should hit, so will use superiority die for trip attack. 10 damage (5+2, 3 from trip). Orc must make STR save (DC14) or be prone.
Action surge for second attack against orc 8. First hit roll 14, second 10. Trip attack again. 9 damage (2+2+5). Same save as above.
Starker gets Raspy under control as his action. He moves a bit further N on the map. Hoid unleashes a volley of arrows, tripping two of the orcs. The remaining orcs continue to flee. At the end of it all 1 or 2 of the orcs manage to escape, you kill the rest.
(( I remember when manticores were a solid challenge to 5th lvl characters…. ))
Searching the orcs, you find them to be doing pretty badly at being an orc. Their weapons are poorly made by orcish standards, they are wearing worn hides, they have no treasure of any kind and they appear to be malnourished.
Chadwick walks up to Bela and pets her and soothes her. "Your such a good and smart girl. It was kind of scary huh, but you did great." He leads her back to the group
Was Orc four one to escape, if not was Chadwick able to switch Hunters Mark to another one?
If yes - "I was able to mark one, so for the next hour(ish) it makes it easier to track. Do we want to pursue, or carry on? They don't seem like a huge threat with the manticore gone, but I worry about them attacking less guarded travelers so my vote is to pursue. I doubt they are going to take up farming."
If no - "sorry all, I wasn't able to mark one of the fleeing orcs before they got away (mutters curse in unknown language). We could still try and track."
"Gneuman, would you like some healing, or anyone else?"
Seeing that Starker is in need of care, moves to dress his wounds. Saying a pray to Tyr "Tyr restores those who serve justice and protect the innocent".
Healing Word for 8 Hpts restored.
Moves to Trolkarl and examines his wounds. "Are you in need of restoration Master Trolkarl?" Seeing they are not mortal. "Fine work felling that foul beast, your capabilities continue to amaze this humble cleric!"
Starker to Chadwick: “It seems to me our pledge for now is to get Belgger home safely. I understand your desire to go after the orcs but they are now stripped of both the manticore and the daring it instilled.
”I am disappointed that my ‘summoning’ the ‘invisible dragon’ did so little to perturb the orcs and that it merely caused the manticore to veer off a little. It seems your more direct approach was better than my wizardly subtleties!”

Gneuman to act.
Gneuman turns to attack Orc 6 with staff: 5+5=10 miss with staff.
Follow up unarmed strike: 7+5=12 (probably miss)
Gneuman lashes out at the orc to no avail. It dodges his blows or its armor absorbs them.

Orc 7 uses Disengage and runs.
Orcs 2, 3, and 4 turn and run.
Chadwick to act.
Chadwick yells "Great shooting Trolkarl, you blasted him good!"
Seeing the orcs fleeing he chases after them (dash) to close within striking distance, and also to put himself between them and Bela.
"Fight me you cowards!" Trying once again to taunt an opponent into what he views as an actual fight.
Bonus action - Shift Hunter's Mark to orc 4
Chadwick chases the orcs, running full speed away from the rest of you.
Seeing the orcs in front of her and no further combat with a flying manticore behind, Bela stops and stands still.
Orc 8 uses Disengage and runs.
Starker to act. Raspy is heading out, SE on the map.
Then Hoid and Kragen.
Damage = 2 if he doesn’t save.
-2 to next saving throw before end if my next turn.
The hardwork was done by Kragen illuminating the beast, made my bit easy. Teamwork!

If any orcs make the poor life choices of getting with 10' I'll use my reaction for an AoO.

If DM wants us to continue on then we do that ;)
Starker: “I would be grateful if something could be done about this wound.” (Down 7 of 20hps.)
Starker: “Thank you, Kragen.”
wanders over to the manticore which is pining for the fjords and grabs a handful of tail spikes if noone objects.
“Friends, shall we push on for another hour or two or make camp here?”
Starker to Chadwick: “It seems to me our pledge for now is to get Belgger home safely. I understand your desire to go after the orcs but they are now stripped of both the manticore and the daring it instilled.
