After depositing your gear at the Hallowed Tree Inn, Jotrun's is the next stop. A warm meal and good ale is just what you need after a long ride. Gohumbee joins you after getting the mounts settled at the livery. Cyrus is upon Starker's shoulder as is Ajax on Gneuman's, albeit invisible. You find some seats as you walk in and see the Arnak and Hanny are at their usual table. A flashback brings a bit of apprehension as you scan the crowd, but Sapos the Odious is nowhere to be found. Hanny gives you a wave and Arnak nods as he puffs on his ornate pipe.
Plates of sausages, cabbage and cooked apples are brought to the table along with ales. A small bowl of grapes and sliced apples is set by Starker for Cyrus to enjoy.
The night is enjoyable. Iolo is not there. Asking about him yields no information. He left a while ago and has not been back. Arnak and Hanny join you for a bit. Hanny assures Starker that he has just the pearl he needs at his shop and to stop by tomorrow if he would like.
Kragen and Chadwick are greeted by Bessia the next day. The repairs to the temple have started. Repair of the walls and people's houses have taken priority. She is greatly appreciative of their continued support and donations.
Gneuman is able to find Healing Potions available as needed for 50g each. He finds that the current gnomish population in Shalecliff is now 3. There is no organized faith for Gaerdahl Ironfist here in town. Arnak and Hanny are not very religious so that avenue is not fruitful.
Chadwick meets with the smiths and a Lucerne Hammer of silvered iron can be made. It will take a week and require 120gp to fashion.
The Stonejaw brothers have not been seen for the past two weeks. No one knows when to expect them back in town.
Starker invites anyone who is a good story teller to get Arnak up to speed on what happened during our adventures. He says to Arnak, “And, perhaps, afterwards I can tell you of an exciting experiment I have started. I would value your insights.”
Starker looks surprised: “I guess Iarno wasn’t very good at cursing object? His diary’s penultimate entry read ‘Invoked the wrath of ancient spirits to curse a ring. I will leave it where Tarkan will surely find it searching my rooms in my upcoming absence.’ Perhaps the curse works by a means other than magic? Or maybe this isn’t the ring mentioned? Curious. What think you, Friend Cleric? This might be more on your side of the street?”
Kragen will consult with the group on a sending for both Cleggor and Magnar Stonejaw in an attempt to contact them. Consulting with the group here are the 25 words we can build upon, feel free to provide input.
Insert (Cleggor/Magnar), Kragen Gravelbeard. in Danger. Are you well? Drow and Orc seeking you and mine. Need to talk, can we meet, will come. (23 words)
Once the group finalizes the message. Kragen head to Hanney's shop and purchase the components (2 copper wires). Once procured, will commence with casting a sending to Cleggor and Magnar with the same message.
Several days pass in Shalecliff. The rebuilding of the town is progressing well. The walls and gatehouses are mostly restored with freshly cut timbers. The rubble inside the town has been cleared. New construction is in progress to rebuild the buildings lost. Bronk enjoys catching up with you in his free time. He is now leading a patrol of men who operate mostly at night to secure the area around Shalecliff or scout out areas of interest that are further away. The men with him seem to respect him as well.
In the evening of the third night, the group of you are chatting with Hanny and Arnak outside of Jotrun's. A curious sight is seen in the sky. It looks like a trail of smoke coming out of the heavens. You watch it seemingly fall to the ground off to the north-east of town in the mountains. As it gets closer to the ground you can see that there is "something" falling from the sky giving off the trail of smoke. You get the sense that it is spinning or tumbling as it falls. It is too far off to get any detail other that this. After descending below the horizon you see a flash of light like far off lighting. The plume of smoke rising into the sky as high as you can see slowly starts drifting apart in the winds.
Starker looks up from his notes, putting away the string he has been using to measure Cyrus’ skull and says, “That’s not something you see every day. Let’s see what we can learn!” He puts on his gloves, feeds Cyrus a slice of dried mango marked with a ‘2’, removes the gloves, and stands up, ready to go.

Starker is able to purchase a Pearl 100g with Kragen's coin. (Gold subtracted and Pearl added to character sheets.)
Starker invites anyone who is a good story teller to get Arnak up to speed on what happened during our adventures. He says to Arnak, “And, perhaps, afterwards I can tell you of an exciting experiment I have started. I would value your insights.”
[Starker thanks Kragen, uses pearl to cast Identify on the helmet we found in the box by the sword in the vault.]
It is a Helm of Thunder
Starker to party: “Anything else that needs Identifying?”
Gneuman will also purchase a large variety of sweets for Ajax. (He can pick out his favorites.)
Craddock’s key needs to be identified.
Starker Identifies Craddock the Craven’s Key as well as Iarlo’s (cursed?) Signet Ring.
Is this in a book?
You can find the Helm of Thunder listed in inventory.
The key is a Mystery Key
Iarno Albrek's ring is not magical.
Ajax is happy to have sweets on the menu again.
Chadwick usually uses his BA for an extra attack or spells, so he'll pass on the helm.
Starker looks surprised: “I guess Iarno wasn’t very good at cursing object? His diary’s penultimate entry read ‘Invoked the wrath of ancient spirits to curse a ring. Perhaps the curse has already triggered, or maybe his diary exaggerated?
I had already removed the monies for the Tythe to the church and 100gp for Pearl. Added the 100gp back to inventory.
Kragen would have interest in the Helm however would defer if this would provide our Melee types more advantages in combat??

Cyrus accepts the unexpected mango with delight. Munching away at it on Starker's shoulder.
Arnak and Hanny look at each other with puzzled looks and a "Hm..." from Arnak.
