Several days pass in Shalecliff. The rebuilding of the town is progressing well. The walls and gatehouses are mostly restored with freshly cut timbers. The rubble inside the town has been cleared. New construction is in progress to rebuild the buildings lost. Bronk enjoys catching up with you in his free time. He is now leading a patrol of men who operate mostly at night to secure the area around Shalecliff or scout out areas of interest that are further away. The men with him seem to respect him as well.
In the evening of the third night, the group of you are chatting with Hanny and Arnak outside of Jotrun's. A curious sight is seen in the sky. It looks like a trail of smoke coming out of the heavens. You watch it seemingly fall to the ground off to the north-east of town in the mountains. As it gets closer to the ground you can see that there is "something" falling from the sky giving off the trail of smoke. You get the sense that it is spinning or tumbling as it falls. It is too far off to get any detail other that this. After descending below the horizon you see a flash of light like far off lighting. The plume of smoke rising into the sky as high as you can see slowly starts drifting apart in the winds.
Gneuman looks at Ajax, "Did you see that?!" "Let's find the others and investigate."
Starker has Gohumbee Dammite saddle up Raspy (Starker’s horse animal is Raspy) grabs his backpack and saddlebags and mounts up, saying, “The area we’ll need to search grows as the square of our delay! (Given some reasonable assumptions and shaving the uncertainties with Occam’s Razor.) Math says we need to get going!”
Kragen to the group as we prepare to investigate. "I have a return sending from Cleggor, thank Tyr. It sounds like all is fine and they continue to dig for the mine. He will return to Shalecliff in a few weeks to provision and meet."
Kragen reverently accepts care of the Helm of Thunder, replaces his current helm and secures it to his backpack. Places the Helm on his head.
"Lets be at it." Kragen grabs the reins from Gohumbee and mounts "Donkey".
Galban joins you as you prepare your various mounts to depart. "I would head east to the Windy Valley and then north there up into the mountains. That should get you close to where whatever that was landed. There are many small valleys and dales in that area of the mountains. Most are steep sided so follow the streams into them," he offers as guidance. "Oh, watch out for trolls. Those mountains are full of them."
Hastily, you gather supplies. Gohumbee is running about town as fast as his stubby legs will carry him. The mounts are saddled up and you are ready for travel. Jotrun brings out a bag filled with bread, cheeses and cold sausages for the journey. He says the ale will be here for your return.
The Windy Valley is several hours ride east. The waning light of day is gone when you arrive to the mouth of the valley. The night is fully dark and Selûne is a crescent offering little light. You can press on into the night or make camp.
Starker suggests we ride through the darkeness, trusting in the sense and sensibility of our various people and animals to give warning should we come across something bumping in the night.
Chadwick will use the driftglobe to cast light. With that can the party see well enough to continue traveling safely? If not Chadwick will vote for making camp.
Hoid is ready to go.
"Sounds like an adventure, I'm in!" Says Chadwick
Kragen will be ready to investigate, once the sendings are complete.
Gneuman looks at Ajax, "Did you see that?!" "Let's find the others and investigate."
Here is a 17 word message:
This is Kragen Gravelbeard. Evildoers interested in your mine. Can you meet me somewhere safe to talk?
Ajax looks up from the flowers he was smelling, "See what?"
It was late afternoon when you saw the thing in the sky.
/plans?

"Who is Math?" -Chadwick probably-
Him and Freya are ready to head out whenever the group is. You can tell he's been itching to skewer something with his new lance.
(8 posts later, Hoid remains ready, although he is getting hungry.)

Hearing the mention of trolls.
Gohumbee please get a small stockpile of oil flasks, torches, and flint in case we need to deal with these trolls.
You can add those as you like to your characters

I am good with continuing on until we come to the Windy Valley.
You have arrived at the Windy Valley. So two votes to camp? and one to press on?
Voting press on
