Chadwick moves to cover the Lady Stormrider with his cloak and checks on her condition. If she's responsive "Lady Stormrider, we were sent by Lady Ventrix to rescue you. We will get you out of here as soon as we can."

"The thralls are not our enemy, they were victims of the mind flayer too. They should be spared and see if the effects can be reversed. Kill any cultists, they chose this evil."
If anyone was carrying a shield Chadwick will swap it for the offhand scimitar. While it doesn't look as cool, he never seems to have a spare bonus action. He'll also recover his daggers and hand axe. If he can swap a spear for the Cutlass he'll do that too.
"Let's do a quick search of the bodies and the bedroom off this cave. Then let's hold up in the room with the ballista for a breather (short rest). Once we have recovered a bit we can explore the other two areas that we haven't checked yet."
He'll then assist Stormrider to the cultist room while keeping a lookout for some clean (or at least not too bloody) clothes for her. Then reset the ballista and begin a short rest kind of hoping someone attacks so he can use it.
Chadwick searches about the room and finds scimitars, javelins and daggers for weapons. No shields.
Lady Stormrider is dazed but awake. She is groggy, but follows commands. "Please, help me get out of here...," she says weakly.
THE CHAMBER TO THE SOUTH
A short passage leads to another chamber. There is a large woven carpet on the floor. A woven mat sits upon this in the corner. There is a fire ring with stones set around it. A large table with a chair sits to the left side. A wooden chest with iron bands and a lock sits beside the table. Papers are laid out on the table as well as two scrolls. There are three sconces in the room holding lit candles. These provide dim illumination in the room.
BEHIND THE BARS
The passage here is blocked by a set of bars with a door set in them. A lock is built into the door. The chamber beyond has three bedrolls on the floor. There is a chamber pot on the ground to the right. A skeleton is restrained on the wall in iron manacles. It appears to have been there for a long time. The stench here is powerful of death and filth.
THE CHAMBER TO THE NORTH
The short passage opens up into a large, squarish chamber. On the far right wall is an iron ring set into the wall with a chain and iron collar. It is empty. There are what look like blood stains on the wall. To the left is a large woven rug with a bed, desk and bookcase. A large chest is on the opposite wall. On the desk you see a simple brass censer and a small wooden box. Leaning against the wall beside the bookcase is a glaive.
The passage opens up into a large space here. The ceiling rises up to 40’ above you with a few stalactites seen. The room is illuminated by a soft glow of light at the apex of the ceiling. Around the room are work benches with a variety of apparatus sets upon them. There is a large desk with delicate tools set about and papers. Two large tables are in the center of the room with more of the alchemical apparatus sets around them. On the tables you see two people. Both are in five point leather restraints. One is an elf who is the subject of a vivisection. He remains alive, but appears unconscious. The apparatus beside his table is connected to him with tubes running into his arteries and veins. His head has been shaved. The second is a human woman with long blonde hair. She is covered only with two cloths to maintain modesty. You can see that she has an athletic physique.
Searching Duren, you find: Dagger, Dart x 3, Basic Poison vial, Potion: Healing, Key
Searching the mind flayer, you find: Breastplate Armor, Silver ring set with coral, Pouch: 4 x Amethyst 100g, 5 x Hematite 50g, Keys
If anyone not participating in the short rest could grab the glaive for Chadwick, that would be great. Otherwise he'll grab it after the completion of the short rest.
If Arin is up to talking, Chadwick will chat with her and try and put her at ease. Additionally some specific questions.
"Lady Stormrider when they brought you in was it by the main entrance of the fight club, or was there some kind of secret entrance? While we can always fight our way out, a stealthy retreat would be preferable."
"How was it you were abducted? If you were betrayed, we would like to try to avoid them until we can get you to safety."
