"How do you know Lady Stormrider...? "My companions and I were able to assist her awhile back when she ran into some difficulties while traveling. We happened to be in the right place at the right time and were able to deliver Tyr's justice, as we are tasked to do. I was thinking of paying her a visit, though now that I say that out loud it might be a bit presumptuous." He adds pondering.
My goal with the man at arms, from a player aspect, is just to have someone who is in charge of the defenders of the Bastion. Technically not needed to specifically appoint someone since they are all considered equal, I was just trying to add some RP'ing aspect and have it be a follower of Tyr.
When everyone gathers for dinner....
"I wasn't able to find any leads on Henilen, though I wasn't surprised someone like him would be unknown to them. Also no good information on white dragons in the north.
I was thinking of paying Lady Stormrider a visit, see how she is doing. Is anyone else interested in visiting with her? Assuming she has the time and inclination to respond to a request."
After a day of errands in Waterdeep, you gather in the main room of The Dusken Glade Inn. You have selected a very comfortable inn in the North Ward. Starker’s parents arrive and join all of for dinner this night. They are lovely. Jurdan, his father, is a cobbler. Noalla, his mother, works in the household of the Brightbow family. “So, all of you are friends of Starker,” his mother asks. You cannot help but sense of some surprise in her question.
They seem surprised he has friends. I bet he was a fascinating child- probably corrected the bedtime stories for inaccuracies and organized the spices in the pantry. They need to see who he has become
Trolkarl nods and offers a slight bow to Jurdan and Noalla
Master Jurdan. Mistress Noalla. I am Trolkarl of House Ravenshield- but more importantly, at least at this table, I am also one of your son's companions in arms, one of many who owe him their life, and also... friend.
It is a true honor to sit at a table with the souls responsible for shaping one of the finest minds I have had the privilege to know. Your son, Starker, has stood with me in the most dire hours. Your son is exceptional. Not just in intellect or arcane ability. Although all recognize, he has those in abundance. But also in courage, loyalty, and an alarming capacity for improvisation.
He gently places down the scroll with the royal seal of the Duke of Daerlun before Jurdan
Starker also carries a letter from the court of Cormyr, naming him as a hero of my home realm. The people of my lands are free of oppression thanks to your son.
Now I must share, during one particularly delicate mission, it fell to Starker to infiltrate and gain information for us. He explained he wanted to adopt the guise of a researcher interested in genealogy of nobility and heraldry. It sounded particularly dangerous, and honestly, I wasn't at all convinced it would work. But somehow it did- and I have learned not to doubt him.
smiling at the monkey ...or Cyrus.
turning back to Starker's parents I consider your son one of the bravest souls I know. And yes- he is... peculiar. But in the best possible way. All at this table are blessed to call him a friend!

"Well met Madame Noalla, Master Jurdan. It is a pleasure to meet you both!""I am Kragen Gravelbeard, of the Galena Mountain Dwarves of Clan Delhalls, Cleric of Tyr." motions to Starker with a grand flourish "My compatriots are much more adept at articulating his GRAND achievements.", "Mage Starker has become a trusted COLLEAGUE, a thoughtful and wise decision maker, leads with a True MORALE compass and places others needs before his own.", "He is a True vestige of the Man you raised him to be, i thank you for that!" Bows ceremoniously to them both.
"Purchasing mundane items will not be a problem in Waterdeep. Purchasing magic items, especially crafting them, outside of potions and scrolls is not where I would like us to go. Magic items are rare. So, there really is not a big market for such things. With special connections in a big city you may be able to find exorbitantly priced items. Even pooling all of your treasure now would only yield enough to purchase a minor magic item. The experience on the Rock of Bral was an exception to the rule. That is a unique location and you had the favor of the highest power."
This is why we need to make contact with Henilen and or see if Lady Stormrider might have a lead for us since hopefully she still views us favorably after saving her from a lobotomy.
The other magic items and Mithral Chainmail is not available to purchase from any of the armorers or merchants you talk with. Seems you might need a connection of some kind to purchase this.
Herbalism Kits and Spell Components can be found for listed prices without difficulty.

Dinner with Jurdan and Noalla is very entertaining. They are very kind people who clearly do their professions well. Jurdan's shoe shop is well respected and busy. He has several apprentices working with him. Though he describes it only as "doing the best I can," it clearly is something much more than that. Starker knows from his youth the skill his mother brings to managing the Brightbow estate. Lady Brightbow is somewhat forgetful and loose with details. Noalla fills in to make sure the day to day functions without a hitch and the events are planned impeccably. Lord Brightbow recognizes this and treats her very kindly.
The Dusken Inn's common room is busy this night. The tables are full and several bards perform on the stage set up there. Al of them are quite good and hail from the bard college on the slope of Mount Waterdeep. It is another welcome night of close family and celebration on the return home of Jurdan and Noalla’s son.
Xymox rises smoothly as Starker’s parents approach, his cloak shifting like smoke in lamplight. He offers a deep, elegant bow—one hand at his chest, the other sweeping with theatrical flourish. His smile is warm but unmistakably Drow: composed, velvet-edged, and touched with mischief.
Xymox: “Master Jurdan. Mistress Noalla. A pleasure long overdue.”
He straightens, violet eyes gleaming as he regards them both.
“I am Xymox Xel’Mizzrym—bard, traveler, sometime-saboteur of dinner conversation—and most proudly, a companion of your son, whom I count among the brightest constellations in the strange and ever-shifting sky of my life above.”
He gestures slightly toward Starker, then lifts his goblet and speaks with practiced grace:
“Your son and I met not so long ago—though ‘met’ might be too tame a word. One doesn’t meet Starker. One is struck by him, like a well-aimed spell or a page of footnotes hurled with academic fury.”
A brief chuckle as he sets the goblet down.
“He is brilliant, unpredictable, maddeningly correct, and terribly brave. He has stood his ground when all others fell back, cast spells in defiance of doom, and once debated the philosophical nature of fire while on fire. I’m still not sure if he won that argument, but the hallway’s still scorched.”
His voice softens slightly, sincerity threading through the theatrics.
“You raised a marvel. A man of arcane genius and moral weight, with a mind that is both blade and beacon. And in the mire of this world, such a light is rare.”
He bows again, more gently this time.
“Thank you—for shaping him. And for sharing him with us. We are better for it. Even if he does occasionally turn breakfast into a lecture.”
He glances at Cyrus with a wink.
“And he travels with the only monkey I’ve met who has a favorite wine.”
Starker to The Company at breakfast:”Thanks to each of you for your gracious words and for being so kind to my parents. I owe each of you a debt of gratitude.
“I have learned a new spell I intend to practice in the yard of The Academy after breakfast. I think you might find it interesting. With this ornate lockbox I will be able to cast Summon Construct. For the duration of my ability to concentrate or an hour, whichever is less, we will have a doughty ally in combat, a creature constructed, like the lockbox, of iron and a special combination of silicon, germanium, and arsenic. Each time, the name of the construct will be Sgòthmothan. As I anticipate Sgòthmothan will be in ‘the thick of things’ during combat, perhaps Sir Chadwick and Hoid would be most interested to join me as I learn Sgòthmothan‘s abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, but all are welcome.”
Xymox's list of things to do in Waterdeep during any down time:
Regarding Alumnal:
1) Visit local Inns and taverns, listening for any rumors or sightings of Alumnal. (Or anything that may pertain to the Underdark.)
2) Seek out members of any Bard guilds or informants in circles where they may hang out.
Bardic pursuits and resources:
1) Visit any bardic colleges. Attempt to establish contacts or simply any news of the day that might be of interest to the Company.
2) Any opportunity to perform or entertain to make some money on the side, or earn free room and board. (at reputable locations, of course.)
3) Any errands or missions put fourth by Company members that need to be done.
The name Alamnal Deepwalker rings true in no ears. The connected mouths can offer no information.
There is a famous bardic college, New Ollahm, located in the Castle Ward on the slope of Mount Waterdeep. The Dusken Glade is a tavern frequented by bards of the college who give regular performances. It is a college of the Lore tradition.
Performing in inns, taverns and busking are all openly available. Denabria and Zavalinda welcome your performances at the Dusken Glade as well.

"We have our differences at times, but battle forges a bind closer than friends.
He's even going to be my neighbor." Chadwick finishes with a grin as he gives Starker a friendly squeeze on his shoulder.

Kragen cocks his head and thinks, "The things i say are always wise, why would they be questioned?".
Then smiles at the notion that Kragen has moved from Acquittance to Colleague in the Mage's personal hierarchy.
"Well met Madame Noalla, Master Jurdan. It is a pleasure to meet you both!" "I am Kragen Gravelbeard, of the Galena Mountain Dwarves of Clan Delhalls, Cleric of Tyr." motions to Starker with a grand flourish "My compatriots are much more adept at articulating his GRAND achievements.", "Mage Starker has become a trusted COLLEAGUE, a thoughtful and wise decision maker, leads with a True MORALE compass and places others needs before his own.", "He is a True vestige of the Man you raised him to be, i thank you for that!" Bows ceremoniously to them both.
When there is a break in the action in Waterdeep, Kragen would like to visit the following shops looking for non-mundane items.
Weirdbottle Concoctions
Balthorr's Rare & Wondrous Treasures
Thentavva's Boots
Phalantar's Philtres & Components
Aurora's Realms Shop
Here is the items i would like to source

Keoghtom's ointment
Boots of Winterland
Mithral Chainmail

For perhaps the first time in his life, Starker is speechless.
