Chadwick yells back "Xymox found a magical trap! Does someone want to dispell it? Otherwise I'm going to stand back and chuck the mace at it until it goes off or gets smashed open, which might take awhile."
Watching Chadwick and Xymox fiddle with the chest, says to Xymox as he passes by “Well done, Bard!”
then walks over to Chadwick and places his hand on his shoulder “Sir Chadwick, maybe you should put the Mace away and let Tyr intervene and assist with this nefarious magical effect.”
Kragen asks Xymox a few clarifying questions about what he found such as location of the effect he detected, what senses led him to the discovery and other key details. All the while he is examining the chest, carefully while Xymox provides his feedback.

Starker:”I am sorry that I do not know this manifestation of abjuration. We may need to solve the riddle. At the moment I see no clear path. We do have a pulsing ruby and saphire and a soul coin and the dread iron flasks. I like the notion of putting a coin in a slot. It feels right, somehow …. Thoughts?”
Kragen turns to the group “The magical effect embued on that chest, which is tied to the altar, is a of powerful effect. Take caution when opening it.”
Kragen moves to investigate the altar, attempting to avoid triggering the effect.
Kragen and Starker inspect the altar area. The slots are much larger than the bone coins. Each slot is a foot long and three inches high. Only darkness is seen within. Even by Trolkarl. More accurately, nothingness. Not even light.
Kragen looks about and sees that the columns have engravings upon them.
Right – Carvings of gagged people or mouthless beings
Left – Scenes of death watches, figures clutching trinkets to their chest, open tomes
Trolkarl sees Chadwick moving further north and not a windup with his mace- and nods to Yartol

The right column with gagged and mouthless people would be silent... And the left maybe has some association with memory
I also recall in the first level of the tomb in our world, Starker needed to touch a box and shared a "truth forsaking" memory to open the door to the passage up, Then on the second level, I think there were a couple of locations that required silence to pass... with freezing and an animated big iron chain and plumb

Seeing Xymox expertly assist Chadwick with the chest, Kragen stands and marvels at the high ceilings with Trolkarl.
"Stand back!"
Chadwick double checks the floor for any obvious glyphs and assuming none will try and open the lid using his halberd.
Xymox determines that there is a trap on the chest. It seems a magical effect is present that is somehow connected to the altar.
Chadwick’s halberd is not the key this chest needs. It remains closed.
Xymox: "I believe my part in this process is done." He bows deeply and exits toward the hallway.
Chadwick yells back "Xymox found a magical trap! Does someone want to dispell it? Otherwise I'm going to stand back and chuck the mace at it until it goes off or gets smashed open, which might take awhile."
“Perhaps throwing a mace at the chest with a wizardly trap on it is ‘not’ a good idea?,” Yartol asks looking to Kragen and Trolkarl for support.

The magic of the chest resists Kragen’s attempt to end it with Dispel Magic, WIS ability check = 7.
((This tells you the spell effect in place is at greater than 3rd level.))
