The man perks up when Starker discusses interacting with the face. “Only evil comes from there,” he says. Then he descends back to seeming raving, “Another must say it……. Cannot be me…….must say the words…,”
"How long have you been in the tomb?," she repeats. This time more calmly and directed at Kragen.
(( Her question has not yet been answered by anyone, so expectations from her about that information are excessive....))
Kragen calmly responds. "We do not have an accurate means however our guess is we have been over 3 hours in our quest to find and vanquish the Wizard.", "What do you know about length of time on this plane?", "What are the consequnces of being here too long??"
<for the record, that wasn’t a good dwarf/bad wizard ploy. Starker was really going to use her as a guinea triefling in front of the face. He makes use of what tools are available, and sees her as a tool. If she has no info, she can be a lab rat.>

"Three hours?," she repeats. "I am assuming you had to get by those octopus headed things on the surface as well? Well, more are coming. A LOT more. It takes them about 3 hours to get the alarm and then get here." She looks to all of you, "I am begging you. Get me out of these chains. I know the sigils to activate to use the summoning circle in the lab." She looks at Starker, "He blocked access to Conjuration magic here. You know that, right? I can bypass that blockade with the correct sequence of sigils. That is how he does it. Get me out of these chains and I will show you how to use the circle."
Looking from the tiefling to Starker and back to the tiefling - shakes head
Whatever the consequences of being on this plane too long, he can not come back. We must be sure the lich never comes back. And we can't do that if we are dead ourselves.
We don't want any more of the squid heads here; we don't want anyone to die or anyone to be stuck here forever.
But if these things are coming- why do we want to activate a summoning circle? What does that do? And how do we get you out of the chains?
"The circle can be used to leave as well as summon. Your mage can use Teleport or Plane Shift can he not? I will open the door and he can move us through it, somewhere else," she answers Trolkarl.
Starker walks around the corner at the mention of him by the tiefling woman, "Sadly, no. I am not able to cast either of those spells. But, I may have learned something." He walks over to her and speaks, "As above, unbound; As below, reclaimed." After speaking these words the runes along the manacles holding her flare softly and she is released from their bondage. She staggers a bit and catches herself from falling.
"You have freed me," she says to Starker almost sounding like a question. "I am indebted to all of you. But, we must leave. You have the phylactery I assume?," she looks about expectantly. It is clear she is worn ragged (several level of exhaustion) but is clearly anxious to get the F out of here. She looks about for an answer to her last question, "His essence is bound to the phylactery, the staff and the ring. All three must be destroyed to end him."
The man stands, weakly. He is clearly drained physically (several levels of exhaustion) from his captivity. His eyes seems to gain better focus now that he is released from the manacles. He looks to Chadwick, "You are a follower of Tyr, Justice Bringer?" He bows and introduces himself, "Brother Kellen Dureth, former paladin of Lathander, Sun Bringer." He chokes up a bit when saying 'former'. It seems there is a story behind the judgement he has passed upon himself.
Standing up as straight as he can he gets a puzzled look on his face, "Is that abomination (the skeleton) carrying my sword?"

Xymox inclines his head, hands folded behind his back.
“Ah. Yes. Technically yours. Temporarily borrowed. By the skeleton. Who, I assure you, has no emotional attachment to it whatsoever.”
Xymox taps the skeleton lightly with his bow.
“Jack. That’s enough.”
The skeleton turns, pauses, then steps forward. With a faint clack, it kneels and offers the sword hilt-first, holding it carefully in both skeletal hands.
"Well done Mage Starker" Smiles and pats Cyrus on the head, hands him a copper.
"Tiefling, i'll use that as you have not provided your name, if we are to find a means of getting out of here, we will need more information, not these cryptic answers. Understandable that you have a strong desire to leave a place that exposed you to unspeakable horrors, may Tyr bless you and bring you Justice."
"We have acquired numerous artifacts in our search for this cur, however we are not sure if we have the items you mention. Please provide a detailed description of his Phylactery?"
Pauses to hear a description
"As for the Magic Circle, what is it's purpose and how would it provide means out of this place?" looks around. "If we had access to those spells, we would not need a Magic Circle to facilitate the casting?"
Brother Dureth accepts his sword and buckles the belt and scabbard to his waist.
"I am Serethia, of Neverwinter. Sorceress and adventurer. I have told you nothing cryptic. Only what I know," she answers Kragen. "The phylactery I have not seen. It must be hidden in a well protected location. You have not come across anything that would resemble something suitable for that use?"
"The magic circle can be activated to bypass the block on Conjuration and allow us transport out of here. Even if you cast Plane Shift you could not escape without overcoming that blockade," she explains.
Serethia looks at the puzzle box offered by Starker. "That could be a container," she says. "I am no expert on achieving lichdom. My research says that the phylactery is likely to be covered in glyphs, sigils and runes of power to contain the souls needed to feed the lich in unlike. I don't see anything like that on this thing."
"Brother Dureth, I wish we were meeting under better circumstances. You have been kept from Lathander's light for too long in this foul place. We will see you safely returned.
You say former, yet Lathander is known for renewal and rebirth. Let's take this first step back to the path together."
Chadwick's eyes shine with fervor as if his will alone could restore him to grace.
Kellen lays a hand upon Chadwick's chest and bows his head, "If only what is done could be undone so easily." He withdraws his hand and stands up straighter. His condition is clearly diminished though. He needs a bath and a good night's sleep. Or three. Of both.
Kragen postures a short bow to Serethia. "I wish our greetings would have been under better conditions, Serethia of Neverwinter. By Tyr's blessing, we were able to break your bonds before the vile Wizard was able to break your spirit."
"I defer to our resident Mage, however i am not sure we have acquired the means to leave this place of our own abilities. Likely something we should have thought of prior, however here we are, to your good fortune."
"Let us confer together and determine the best means out of this place. We may need time for more investigation to identify a path, unless you know of one we can procure?"

Starker:”Not long, considering., why do you ask.”
Starker turns to the face and says, “As above, so below.”
He then tries”As above, unbound; As below, reclaimed.”
Starker stops the 'bad gendarme' routine and intones the words previously said by the man, "As above, unbound; As below, reclaimed."
The runes along the manacles subtly glow and the chains release their captive. He falls to the ground with a gasp and a sigh of relief.

Starkeer:”this spheroid seems to me potentially promising as either container for the phylactery or a key tona lock behind which the soul jar lies.”
<shows her all of the loot he has been collecting during this adventure.>
”we came here using a magic circle above in the open activated by a tuning fork.”
