The faerie dragon flits about, just outside of Gneuman's reach. "I am Ajaxacolimfarnuvius," he replies with his chest puffed up and a satisfied grin on his draconian face.
The faerie dragon flits about, just outside of Gneuman's reach. "I am Ajaxacolimfarnuvius," he replies with his chest puffed up and a satisfied grin on his draconian face.
"Ajax! Ajax, Ajax," he intones as he flits about. "That will do nicely."
Focused on your discussion with the faerie dragon you did not notice that the sun has gone down and the sky is full of stars. They seem in sharp contrast to the night sky, more so than usual. Selûne is high in the sky at half-moon and the Tears are twinkling brightly. Trolkarl, Kragen and Cyrus are on their backs staring up into the night sky. It is difficult to see if they are blinking at all.
Rest comes to all of you through the night. Trolkarl and Cyrus look worse for the wear and have splitting headaches. The monkey is not shy about his complaints. Kragen feels a bit off, but is better than the other two.
Ajax leads you further down the road to There for the morning. The road leads through a large grove of an orchard tended by an old crone. She offers one of her apples to Chadwick as you pass by on the road. He catches Ajax in the corner of his eye shaking his head NO out of the crone's vision. She is unhappy at his refusal, but goes back to tending her trees. The road continues along through fields of shiny flowers off in the distance. As you travel by they begin to reflect the light of the sun towards you. It becomes uncomfortably hot, especially in heavy armor that gets to be very hot to touch. Ajax flies low to avoid this as best he can. Happily, a tall grove of bamboo gives respite from the sunflowers. A cool stream yields refreshment. The road becomes busier as you see others traveling. An owlbear wearing a gold embroidered green vest walks by and asks if you have any halfling pipeleaf. He is a connoisseur and enjoys a sample whenever he can find some. The land around you becomes rocky and barren as you head towards a cliff. Walking up to the edge you see a forest of trees growing sideways out of the cliff face until you turn around. YOU are on the cliff face and quickly scramble "up" onto the level ground of the forest.
A short walk from the cliff and you arrive at the village. A small, well crafted sign sits in a small garden of flowers that reads THERE. It is no more than a half-dozen small houses, a well tended grove and garden and a circle of standing stones all sitting by a placid lake of water with a silvery smooth surface. It seems like any other small village you would see on Faerûn except for the inhabitants. A collection of anthropomorphic animals (rabbit, hedgehog, cat, fox and a pig) are all enjoying a keg of brandy at a table. Other fey of many varieties are flitting about and dancing to the rhythm of a band of brownies. The most "normal" thing you see are two wood elves playing a game of shent under a tree. Many tents and pavilions are set up around the village. There is a spirit of great merriment and joy all around. A sign on the road leading out of the village has two arrows labeled HITHER, YON.
A tiny sprite flies up to Kragen's face. It is holding a thimble sized mug that looks to be oversized for his small body. He hovers for a second, takes a mighty gulp of mead and flies off.
Chadwick wanders around taking in the sights. He tries to find someone selling ale or mead and offers to buy a mugful (using the stein he was gifted by the dwarves). Once libations are secured he will continue to wander about and chat with the critters to the best of his ability. If any pick up groups of musicians form he'll try and join in. If asked, he will share some jaunty tavern songs.
He's not looking for any specific information, but keeps his ears open for anything that sounds quest/adventure worthy.
Chadwick happily mingles amongst the fey. He finds a satyr who shares his mead with at the price of the story of the mug. The satyr is clearly disappointed at the lack of maidens.
Ajax leads Starker straight to a small tent with a small black lacquer table out front. The wood elf baker smiles and sells you a basket of sweet and savory pies. He shows you which to give Ajax and which everyone but Gneuman can eat safely. Ajax greedily eats three of the tarts then finds a sunny roof to nap upon.

May I have one of the cheaper jewels from our small but growing hoard to pay Ajax? I would be happy to pay for it with some of the coins I have, as I did not consult with everyone before agreeing to his ‘fee’.
Kragen accepts a mug of odd ale, apprehensively frowns into the green liquid provided.
finding the fact the group is in a completely different realm where things appear to be <upside down> from a normal perspective. Engages the locals, using his persuasion skills, in gathering additional information which might assist with the Faerie and there desire to return home.

Gneuman will do something similar, but also looking for those that may also be visitors from our native plane. He wants to know how and why they are here.

To the best of my knowledge, all loose gems have been allocated. Hoid has a 20g moss agate (which I believe is the smallest gem we have found).
Starker to Hoid: “I told Ajax I would get him tarts and a small gem. I have given him tarts. May I buy the moss agate from you so I can keep my word?”
if the answer is ‘yes’, do so.
if not, go around Faire and see if there are any gem sellers.
Either way, mingle and see what I can learn about this plane and the opportunities it holds for the party.
Persuassion check for mingling = 3 (2+1). Starker is probably going around and being obnoxiously sesquipedalian. Hopefully not getting run out of town.
Kragen finds a purveyor of ale in one of the tents. There are a few hobgoblins drinking there already as well as a satyr. Meadow Ale is on tap and is quite green in color. Flavor is a bit grassy, but drinkable. He enjoys his beverage and the satyr asks if he can join him. He tells tales of dances in the moonlight, debauchery and the joys of several fine maidens. There will be a gathering tonight at the standing stones, "You should join us, stout one. It is the culmination of the Faire."
Gneuman is readily accepted wherever he goes at the Faire. He is offered many different kinds of beverages and opts for a Dew Wine from a group of pixies. It is delicious and floral and tastes like the first rays of sunshine landing upon an iris blossom. The pixies are talkers. He learns of the Final Gathering to be held tonight in honor of the Old One the Faire is held to venerate. There is talk of the new dragon in the area and how she is upsetting the balance of things, "Balefoliumnax is her name. She is young and full of vinegar. Give her another 100 years she will quiet down," one of the leprechauns says.
Starker walks about the tents and pavilions. It seems oddly empty for this being a Faire. He is bemused with his own observations until he feels something ZIP by him that startles him a bit. There is another ZANG and a third WHEEE before a small 1' tall fey comes to a sudden stop and appears before him. It is angry and chattering so fast he cannot understand the words. The overall sound of those words is not happy. Then the wee fella pulls out a dagger and starts waving it around, pointing at something. Looking in the direction of the pointing you see Ajax atop a sagging short tent, snoring with a pot belly. The wee fey then runs VERY QUICKLY over to the tent and chatters at Ajax to no avail. He then runs back to Starker and makes threatening gestures with his dagger. Cyrus is unamused by the whole situation. He remains very sedate today, curled up in the hood of Starker's robe.
”We should go find out before they run out of tarts!,” he exclaims.
Gneuman grins and chases after the dragon. "Hey, what is your name? What should we call you, my friend?"
The faerie dragon flits about, just outside of Gneuman's reach. "I am Ajaxacolimfarnuvius," he replies with his chest puffed up and a satisfied grin on his draconian face.
"Errr....may I call you Ajax, for short?"
"Ajax! Ajax, Ajax," he intones as he flits about. "That will do nicely."

"Let's quickly eat and ready ourselves to head out." "Ajax can lead the way."

Starker sees if he can retrieve Ajax and drape him over one shoulder.
Ajax is retrieved from the tent. The angry little fey tells Starker off one last time and gives him the Fey Finger.
