Off in the distance near the floating ship you suddenly see light flare, revealing an orc with a crossbow and an orc with a spear. The crossbow has a glowing bolt loaded into it and the orc fires it in your direction. It lands in the ground, illuminating a 20' radius with bright light and a 40' radius with dim light. Once the bolt is fired, the two orcs are concealed by the darkness. It is difficult to see beyond the circle of illumination due to the darkness.
As this is happening there is a rustling in the tree line to your right. Where the blue arrow is shows where you hear what sounds to be something BIG moving through the trees.
The orcs have grown quiet and are no longer shouting and calling out to one another.
Kragen moves up towards the light, using the verge as cover. Touch starker dying a quiet prayer to Tyr
Guidance- Once before the spell ends, the target can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to one ability check of its choice. It can roll the die before or after making the ability check. The spell then ends.
then peers towards the direction of Chadwick in anticipation!
Hoid will hold his action for either the 2 headed freak to enter the clearing or the booted feet to enter the light. If either occurs this turn, he will shoot two arrows at the first target, with preference to the booted feet if the targets arrive simultaneously. Both should be at short range.
A crossbow bolt flies at Gneuman from the slopes of the gorge to the right. Advantage due to being unseen, Disadvantage due to range, cancels. Half-Cover so +2 AC. To Hit =17 for 3 piercing damage.
Orc 5 comes running from the tree line on the left and uses Dodge action. He is just out of Hoid's Darkvision range, but Gneuman, Kragen and Trolkarl can see him clearly.
The illuminated crossbow bolt winks out, leaving the area dark again. A glowing spear appears floating in the air behind Chadwick and attacks him. To Hit = 16, missing.
Orcs 1 & 6 close on the right side of the stream and uses Dodge action. Hoid fires two arrows at Orc 1, Disadvantage due to Dodging. To Hit = 7, 23 and 22, 9. Both miss.
Crashing through the branches of the trees, an ettin bursts forth to attack Chadwick. Chadwick uses Reaction to attack with Lance when 10' away. To Hit = 20 for 6 piercing damage.
The ettin attacks Chadwick at Advantage due to the Spiritual Weapon with great axe, to hit = 23, 27 for 21 slashing damage. And, attacks with great club, to hit = 11, 25 for 17 bludgeoning damage.
Starker sees his opportunity and unleashes a Fireball with the red dot area of effect on the map. A brilliant flash of hellfire illuminates the valley briefly causing 29 fire damage to those who fail DC15 DEX save in the area of effect. Orcs 1 & 6 save at Advantage due to Dodge and being able to see Starker = 8, 15 and 20, 11. Both save and take 14 fire damage. Orc 4 behind them saves = 11, taking 29 fire damage and is burned to a crisp. The ettin saves = 13 and eats the brunt of the blast for 29 fire damage. Its heads both shriek in pain. One concentrates on Chadwick. The other, locks on to Starker. Seeing this, Starker takes a few steps back.
There are two more orcs closing on the right side of the stream. One armed with a spear, the other with a great axe. Two other orcs are approaching along the left side of the stream behind the one close to Gneuman. All of the orcs are armed with battle-axes.
Vegetation in the area of the Fireball is now burning. Moving through that area with the trees will cause fire damage. There is a clear path beside the stream.

Chadwick to act.
Odd, moved them again.
Are you leading Freya, or, riding Freya?
I am assuming riding since dismounting takes half of a move action.
Riding. Given the new info Chadwick will use Divine Sense and see if he can pick anything up. He has his lance and shield equipped.
Trolkarl yells ahead.
Chadwick, 2 two-headed giant moving your way!
Divine Sense is an Action. You have used both with movement through difficult terrain.
You can sense that there is "something" ahead of you. If you had to guess, it is big.
Kragen to act.
Since Kragen hasn't acted yet can I take a free action?
It just occurred to me that the driftglobe still has the light spell active, so creeping through the woods probably isn't fooling anyone.
I was not considering the Light spell being active. This would have gone VERY differently in that setting.
I mean what light spell :p

Starker now has benefit of Guidance.
Trolkarl to act.
Moving forward near Starker and Kragen.
Taking dodge action.
Gneuman to act
Gneuman holds position. /dodging. Looking for Ajax...
You can hear the sound of booted feet running on gravelly ground from the darkness beyond the light provided by the illuminated crossbow bolt.
Hoid to act.

(starker will hold for appearance of the cephalicly gifted one, ready to FB if aoe is clear of good guys or MM as an L2 if not)
