In view of some carts in front of horses, I’m going to commandeer Kragen to jump back in time before our arrival to Ravenshield Manor. During the ride back, Kragen will send the following message to Cleggor:
Kragen here. Need details and urgency of your situation. We are four week’s journey to you using mundane travel. Can investigate magical travel if necessary.
(Not sure if Kragen still has the necessary spell? Didn’t see it on his sheet.)
Hoid to the Inquisitor, “We have news, but not as good as it should have been. I had hoped to have Alamnal’s head for display on a pike but the coward threw his minions on our blades so that he could flee to the under dark by way of a secret passage into the cellar of the Ravenshield lodge. We gave chase for an hour or two until we came to a pit that was beyond our skills to cross with assurance of safety. Alamnal’s whereabouts are unknown to us but he has sworn vengeance against Trolkarl while he watched his minions die
Alamnal sacrificed about a dozen orcs, five of his kindred drow, two mimics and a demon. All but the demon seemed to have taken up residence in the Ravenshield lodge, and there was evidence that some of those that waylaid us during our initial travels with Garrent also resided there. Garrent has acquired documents showing Alamnal’s guilt and was also witness to damning statements. Alamnal should not show himself here anytime in the near future. The Company will likely hunt him down when we are better prepared for spelunking and have taken care of other pressing matters recently brought to our attention.”
The Inquisitor listens to Hoid's recounting of the past several days. He looks to Garrent when he is brought up to which Garrent nods in agreement with what Hoid has described. "It is unfortunate you were not able to apprehend this felon so that he may face justice. His kind do not look upon failure well, though. He may find himself paying a price to another master instead," the Inquisitor answers. "It seems to me that Garrent must return to the Duke to complete his mission. I will travel with him with a few Dragons. The rest will stay here until the Duke decides how to react to the news he is to receive." He shakes his head, "It is a sad day in Cormyr when noble houses are rocked by such scandal. But our Duke is wise, more than most. I am confident he will find a way to resolve this with the best possible outcome." He turns to the rest of you and asks, "Does anyone else wish to add to this account?"
Alamnal mentioned taking me as a prisoner to Indarkken to enslave me or something similar. Does that name hold any significance? Perhaps it refers to a location within the Underdark?
Despite the unfortunate scandal that has befallen our land, we must also acknowledge a tremendous blessing: our guests! I humbly request that my companions’ actions be made abundantly clear to the Duke. While the Hartstones and Ravenshields have united for the sake of our people, these men have repeatedly risked their lives for the benefit of Cormyr. Garrent can provide specific accounts of their numerous deeds in support of our cause. These details should also be communicated to the crown: the individuals standing alongside us today deserve recognition as heroes.
Once your discussion with the Inquisitor is finished you are all free to rest up and clean up from your travels. The plan is to depart for Daerlun in the morning. It should take two days to arrive there.
(( Let me know if you want to do anything prior to departure. ))
The next morning arrives and The Company congregates in the courtyard. You are joined by the Inquisitor, Garrent and 2 other Purple Dragons. All have mounts to ride. Without much ceremony you depart. Gaius is there to see you off, “May Tymora bless you, Trolkarl. I hope that we will remain friends and work together to the benefit of the people of our lands.”
It is an uneventful trip to Daerlun. The Dragons are quiet and do not engage in idle conversation much. Garrent remains at the side of the Inquisitor. He is not avoiding your company, but you also assume he must maintain an impartiality given his role as Observer. The towering walls of Daerlun rise on the horizon at the end of the second day. The Inquisitor asks as you arrive at the gates, “Where will you be staying? Once the Duke is informed by Garrent of what has transpired I would imagine that he will want to send for you. I believe you were at the Hungry Hippocampus on your last stay in Daerlun?”
The Inquisitor answers Trolkarl during your ride to Daerlun, "Indarkken is a Drow outpost in the Underdark. We believe it is located somewhere in this area of eastern Cormyr. But, we do not know for certain. Having Alamnal mention it is confirming of its existence." He pauses and continues, "Or of their desire for US to believe that it exists. Nothing is easy when speaking of the Drow."
Starker will seek a ceramicist or a potter to have a covered bowl incorporating the fell necromancer’s ashes made for Cyrus’ mango slices. The decorations will include lanterns, ghastly spirits, and a dancing monkey. The evoked catharsis will be more of fear than pity if the artisan is gifted.
Starker is able to find a ceramicist, "I am not a potter, thank you very much," to make his desired dish to contain mango slices. He and Starker bond for a moment after the verbal exchange.
While we wait to hear from the Duke, Kragen heads to the local magic guild and attempts to find a wizard with the capability to create item (magic).
while at the guild, he inquires about the time, cost and investment in creating items with certain characteristics. These characteristics are benefits the God Tyr provides to his followers.
in addition, he inquires about expedited travel options and cost to Shalecliff.
The Hungry Hippocampus has room for you and your mounts. They welcome you back and ask about how you are doing. Is there anything that they can assist you with while you are in town?
A representative from the Duke’s court seeks you out the next day and requests that you remain in town while the Duke considers how to proceed. They are unable to tell you how long to expect that to be.
Kragen and Chadwick are able to ask at the Temple of Tyr about having a friendly spellcaster provide service of a Teleport or Teleportation Circle spell. They are helpful and have some possible connections for you. However, these things are usually quite expensive. They say expect to be charged 2,000gp for this. And, you will need to the sigil sequence of the receiving teleportation circle.
Starker secures the services of a master Ceramicist, Yondar. He is able to fashion a suitable dish incorporating the ashes of the necromancer Falonir. No questions are asked. Starker’s Candy Dish is available under inventory.
On the third day, a messenger arrives from the Ducal palace. You are requested to attend that afternoon. The house livery is expecting your arrival and shows you to a receiving hall. Gaius is present as is Garrent and The Inquisitor. Several Purple Dragons stand at attention in the rear of the room.
The Duke enters and takes his seat, “The Houses of Ravenshield and Hartstone have both had personal influence in the history of my family. Not much of it good,” he states looking at Trolkarl and Gaius. “Our grandfathers all seem to have been drawn into a ploy of the Drow here in Cormyr. Reading in the Ravenshield journal as well as testimony of the Purple Dragon, Garrent, serving as an Observer and revealed much information. Some new, some old and forgotten as unimportant.” He stops to look at all assembled and then continues, “I do believe that Hartstone was unfairly maligned and wrongfully accused of misdeed. It was not he who attempted poisoning of my forebear, but in fact the drow Alamnal Deepwalker in disguise. The false reward then provided to House Ravenshield now comes into question. Given the influence held over your house,” he states looking at Trolkarl, “I am loathe to continue the position your House enjoys. However, your actions through all of this, Trolkarl, have brought this injustice by your own forebear to light. That mitigates some of the offense. Gaius Hartstone has been equally involved and seems to be the initial energy of this revelation.” Again he stops to consider all of you, “My options are limited by the agreements with the great houses. My cousin, the Regent Alusair has her attentions tied elsewhere with the threats from without Cormyr. I do not wish to tax her any more than is necessary. So,” he sits up straighter and proclaims, “my decision is thus: House Hartstone will be reinstated as vassal lords of the lands previously managed by them. They will be returned to Harthall. This will occur in ten days time. House Ravenshield, though deserving loss of all title and status, will be remanded to the status of Sherriff of the Way. Ravenshield will be in charge of safety along the King’s roadway to eastern Cormyr. You will be appointed a garrison of troops to accomplish this.” He looks to Trolkarl, “Your brother Handers will be the new Sherriff. Gammal should find some place else to spend his time and energy.” He sits back in his seat a bit more comfortably, and continues, “The rest of you known as The Company have participated in a great service to Cormyr and to my family. I am forever grateful for such service. Each of your names shall be entered into the Roll as Honorary Knights of the Realm. I also give to each of you my seal upon this scroll,” a servant approaches with a covered platter and removes the cover to reveal six small scrolls tied with silk ribbon. “This letter names each of you individually as a hero of Cormyr and entitled to fair passage through our lands as well as the hospitality of the noble houses.” These are handed out to each of you.
The Duke rises to depart, “I thank each of you for what you have accomplished here. Please travel in peace and know you are always welcome here in the lands of the Dragon.”
For those with a voting interest: waiting 2-3 weeks for Mallinora would seem to still be a faster and/or less risky journey. By my estimation, our best travel time via mundane methods is on the order of 4 weeks, and that assumes we are able to find passage on a ship and nothing goes wrong. Do we take a 2-3 week break or are we all type A that cannot sit around doing nothing for that long? Or is there another option?

Thank you, Brother. We have found the mine. We are in dire need. Lost three lives to the Darkness in the mine. Please come help!
Kragen reports the message to The Company and prepares to send another.
”we need their location or they will have to meet us in Shalecliff?”
Kragen sends another message
“Cleggor. Need your location or directions from a set point such as Shalecliff or Granitestead. We are working on expedited transport as we speak.”
Cleggor responds again:
Best to meet in Shalecliff. All of us here now. Mine too dangerous. Please hurry.
(Back to the present.)

Hoid needs to go shopping. Is it safe to purchase any mundane items in the PHB at listed cost?
Yes. PHB prices

/Plans?
1. Send a message via Kragengram to the spelljammer captain to see if she is in the vicinity and can give us a ride to Shalecliff or thereabouts.
2. When the captain is not available, head for the coast and once there look for a mundane ship on which we can book passage.
Tyrogram sent to Mallinora. She responds:
Rogue’s Respite is in dock for repairs. Attacked by pirates. Need two to three weeks. Can you wait until then? Where are you?
