Trolkarl glances toward Xymox- he doesn't like it- any of it. But he also recalls the way people looked at him simply for the crimes of his family and for having the Ravenshield name. Besides, Starker is right- with Gneuman leaving, we will be weaker. Gritting his teeth, he speaks up.
Xymox, your arrival is timely, your skill apparent, and—for now—your conduct untroubling. I see no reason to turn you away outright.
He folds his arms, tone firm.
But understand this: The Company is not a gathering of convenience. We are bound by trust, not contract
My voice says, you may travel with us—as a prospect, not yet as one of our number. Your steps will tell us who you are. But should you go into business for yourself, if your path strays from ours to chase your own ends, know this: you will quickly walk it alone.
He then softens slightly, and looks around the table.
But that is only my voice. All of the companions should speak before we take this further. If there is doubt in their hearts, I will not be your advocate. If you wish to remain among us, I suggest you ensure your presence causes no fracture. The Company moves as one—or not at all.”
I'm assuming that Gneuman's goodbye happened before the MonstorDrink went bad..."Gneuman, I'm going to miss you and Ajax deeply. You both have fought along my side in so many battles I feel like I'm losing a family member (is it the light or are his eyes misty?) Hopefully we'll meet again soon, and hopefully Ajax is back to his old self soon." He grasps him firmly by the shoulder. "Farewell brother and safe travels."
When Chadwick returns from his walk about.
"Friends I feel is is a dark cloud circling over my village. I received a letter from home which had an ill omen, and now the ale getting tainted by necrotic energy. I don't think this is something that can wait, so I'm heading there in the morning. While your companionship would be appreciated, I'll understand if you don't want to journey so far into the interior of the of Faerun. It's near Everlund (between The Nether Mountains and the High Forest) so the journey will be long."
Chadwick looks around The Company with worry in his eyes, all the previous marriment gone.
"I'll be gathering supplies for the journey as soon as the shops open, but I'll wait until we can have one last meal together. Good night friends"
Starker:”Xymox is welcome as far as I am concerned. One destination is as good as another, so all else being equal I suggest we accompany Chadwick. Is all else equal?”
“Brothers of Tyr stand by each other, I will not allow Chadwick to face this concern alone!” Looks sternly at all as if expecting others to argue, then remembers this is The Company. Smiles at his comrades.
”as for this slick tongued, jabberwocky. His kind have been known for nefarious deeds and intentions. Tyr is not fond of his kin however if he proves himself true to word, I have no qualms with his company.” Shrugs
”A word of caution though, Brother Hoid isn’t fond of slack jawed panty wastes so you may want to choose your words wisely around him.” Looks at this Xymox sternly
kragen moves off to ensure Chadwick knows The Company stands with him.
The Company sees Kragen catch up to Chadwick and exchange a few words. Chadwick looks down at Kragen with relief and moves to hug him, then catches himself remembering dwarven displays of affection, and gives him a firm handshake and claps him on the back. When they return "Apologies friends, I should have never doubted you hearts to follow me into ill winds. Gneuman's departure and the uncertainty of my family has me twisted about. I am forever grateful for all your support."
He looks about beaming at each of you. His smiles falters when it reaches the drow, but then he regains it. "Xymox, I'm sure you'll make a fine addition to The Company. I look forward to hearing more of your songs and stories. Have you ever met a bard named Iolo?" Iolo's name brings about a wistful smile.

“Sir Chadwick... that sounded suspiciously like an invitation. Not official, of course — no radiant declarations or holy trumpets — but close enough.
I get the hesitation. Drow don’t exactly inspire trust, and paladins aren’t known for blind optimism. But I’m not here to charm my way in — well, not only. I’ll earn my place where it matters: in the fight, where words can’t hide and loyalty shows true.
And I want to see The Company for myself — not the embellished nonsense echoing through taverns. Everyone keeps quoting a bard named Lolo... never met him, but judging by the stories, I suspect he’s allergic to accuracy.
I’ll give the world the truth — what you actually do out there. If you’ll have me, I’ll stand with you. And when it’s all over, the tale they hear won’t need exaggeration.” (He offers a respectful bow with a knowing smirk.)
Starker:”If I may have few moments in the morning I need to get some special materials so I can spend time making a backup copy of my spell book and transfer the scroll of construct summoning. I will see if Arnak will sell me the materials.”
The night draws to an end as travelers stagger out of Jotrun's to their inns and residents wander home. Plans are made for departures the next day. Gneuman is off to the fey realm. Gohumbee is to head to Granitestead. They can travel together for a while as their paths are the same. Gohumbee would like to stop at the Barder's to see if anyone is traveling north as well so he is not alone on his journey.
Chadwick and the company plan to depart for Everlund and Monstordrink on the morrow as well.
Follow the road from Mirabar south to Longsaddle and Triboar. Turn left to Yartar and then continue east to Everlund. Monstordrink is west of Everlund on the forest border.
Kragen visits the Temple of Tyr and the Priestess, spends time in prayer and contemplation. Tithe’s 56pp and thanks the Priestess for her service and asks if there is anything she needs assistance with?
(depending on our stay length to the point of leaving, I would like to spend the day/s procuring Herbalism kits and making Potions of Healing. 8 hours of production time and 25gp each. Let me know how many I am able to create. Once I have a count, will distribute to Company Members and deduct the coinage)

That will depend upon your departure date. If leaving the day after Jotrun’s then you will not be able to craft any potions. Otherwise, one per day you wait to leave.
Bessia keeps a supply on hand, for emergencies. She gives you six, saying “Kragen, you and Chadwick have been tremendously generous, and, helpful. Please take these. I will instruct the acolytes in fashioning new ones. Be safe and walk with Tyr’s blessing.”

Nods in thanks to Bessia. "Tyr's blessing. Priestess" Then heads to meet the group.

So was it just the MonstorDrink that went bad?
It has electrolytes!
Correct

He walks off looking like his dog just died.
Starker:”Xymox is welcome as far as I am concerned. One destination is as good as another, so all else being equal I suggest we accompany Chadwick. Is all else equal?”
I totally agree with you, Starker.
This is unlike Chadwick. He has come off a bit grumpy when I tease him. But this is serious.
He’s always been there for us. If this is as urgent as he says, we should be there for him
Starker:”Kragen, perhaps you could let the good paladin know that we will accompany him.
”Should we use the offer off a free airship flight to hasten our trip and perhaps to impress Chadwick’s kith and kin at journey’s end?”
“Brothers of Tyr stand by each other, I will not allow Chadwick to face this concern alone!” Looks sternly at all as if expecting others to argue, then remembers this is The Company. Smiles at his comrades.

Chadwick sells his military saddle the regular splint mail (is possible). He'll also see if any barding is available for Freya.
Go ahead and take 1/2 price for those things.
Any other actions before departing Shalecliff?
