You are greeted by a middle-aged human man after entering town. He walks out of the barn to your right. “Greetings, travelers. Can I offer you assistance with your ox team?,” he asks. “I am Alomah. My wife Yerrid and I run the livery here in Shalecliff.”
”Alomah, it is a pleasure to meet you. These oxen, the wagon, and most of the contents thereof belong to Cleggor Stonejaw. We are making a delivery for him. Let us remove our belongings from the wagon and then we would be most appreciative if you would take of the oxen and wagon until Cleggor comes for them.”
Hoid will hold out a a few silver coins (collected from the goblins) in his open hand
”Alomah, I apologize, but I have no idea what is customary compensation for your services. Or if there is something else, please say so. My courtesy is generally lacking as it is not well practiced in my line of work.”
Alomah pockets the silver and laughs. "Dwarves can be very courteous, I find," he continues. "You just have to know what is courtesy to dwarves." He walks over the the oxen to begin moving the wagon and team over to the small barn. "I will keep them in the barn tonight and feed and water them. They need brushed down too, it seems," he says looking over them. "Who should I ask for at Jotrun's, you are headed there I am assuming, if I have need of you?"
“The oxen, wagon, and contents belong to Cleggor Stonejaw. You can ask for him. If he is unavailable, you can ask for Hoid, which is my name, or any of my company: Kragen, Trolkarl, Gneuman, Chadwick or Erbert.”
Jotrun’s is easy to find. On the center square of town it is to your left and has a large oaken mug hanging over the door. You pass one of the inns in town to your right. Beyond the inn is the temple of Tyr, Torm and Ilmater.
Jotrun’s is exactly how you would imagine a dwarf’s tavern would look. Long tables with benches sit in the center of the common room. Benches line the walls. A counter is in the corner with barrels tapped behind it. The walls are lined with shields, battered helmets, pole arms, skins and hides, antlers and a great skull dominates over the hearth. It appears to be cracked. There are several people in the common room. Two Half-orcs sit with three humans in one group. There is a dwarf sitting with two humans and a well-dressed gnome in another. Several other groups of humans are around as well. All have mugs. There are plates of bread, cheeses and bowls of stew being eaten as well.
“Miss, thank you for the food and drink. We are supposed to meet Cleggor Stonejaw here today. Do you know if he is here? We expected him to arrive before us.”
The serving girl listens to Hoid, “Nae, I do not know of him. I’m sorry,” And moves on to the other patrons.
The dwarf sitting down the table from you looks up and stands. He walks over to you. His gnome companion pulls out an intricate pipe, fills it from a pouch and lights it with a candle from the table. He gently puffs on it, observing your talk with the dwarf,
”I am Magnar Stonejaw. Brother of Cleggor. What is your business with Cleggor?”
“Magnar, I am Hoid. My compatriots, who are unusually quiet this evening, and I were hired by Cleggor to bring supplies. The supplies and oxen are with Alomah. We were to meet Cleggor here, today.”
Well met Magnar Stonejaw! Cleggor hired us to deliver some goods for him, as he was wary of the bandits. And so right he was. We saw evidence of one group that had been attacked, and we were set up ourselves in the middle of the night. Tyr strengthened our arms and we smashed them soundly though.
We fear for his safety, as we found a cloak clasp that we remembered him wearing. It was found amongst the debris of the attack we came across.
“I have been expecting Cleggor to arrive with equipment we needed from Luskan. He hired you to bring it?” He looks around at your group. “Was he ahead of you or coming after you?”
Hearing Chadwick’s tale of the cloak clasp, Magnar’s face is grim. “Show me the clasp,” he says.
Magnar sees the clasp and his face hardens. He pulls aside his over shirt displaying another matching clasp. "That is Cleggor's. There are only three of these, one for each brother." Getting a hold of himself he asks, "How did you find this? Where? Did you look for him?"
We found a couple of slain horses from what appeared to have been an ambush. When we searched the area we found the clasp. None of our party have much knowledge of tracking so we weren't able to find any meaningful tracks. We were reluctant to stray too far in case we were ambushed and might lose Cleggor's goods. We had hoped he managed to escape and make his way here, but that doesn't seem the case.
We need a nights rest to recover from our injuries from our own skirmish, but we could take you back to where we found it. It's about two days from here I believe.

Concur with plan.

"Happy to take care of this for you......," Aloha seems to be waiting for some response.......

Let’s go find Cleggor.
There are several people in the common room. Two Half-orcs sit with three humans in one group. There is a dwarf sitting with two humans and a well-dressed gnome in another. Several other groups of humans are around as well. All have mugs. There are plates of bread, cheeses and bowls of stew being eaten as well.
Let’s grab a table, get some food and inquire about Cleggor.
Mugs of ale show up. The serving girl asks if you want stew, or just bread and cheese. She then returns shortly with plates of food as well.
Hoid, to the serving girl.
“Miss, thank you for the food and drink. We are supposed to meet Cleggor Stonejaw here today. Do you know if he is here? We expected him to arrive before us.”

OOC/ I'm not sure who actually ended up with it, just that Kragen remembered it. So let's assume whoever has it is willing to show the clasp.
Magnar sees the clasp and his face hardens. He pulls aside his over shirt displaying another matching clasp. "That is Cleggor's. There are only three of these, one for each brother." Getting a hold of himself he asks, "How did you find this? Where? Did you look for him?"
