I've got a couple of handaxes you can use. Not much, but better than nothing in melee.
If we're doing this at night, we'll have some time to prep. Let's build a small screen for cover. We can prop it up right after the fire starts and it should act like a tower shield.
Bronk stays crouched over is map as Chadwick speaks. He watches him talk and then looks to Erbert.
Bran adds, "I have only a shield for armor. My guess is that they took my armor and weapons with Cleggor's gear when they took him. I can support with the crossbow, but hand to hand or exposure to missile fire is a bad choice."
I took the bolts and bolt case from our ambush on the way to Shalecliff. Bran can use my light crossbow if we do not have a spare?

Bran responds to Chadwick's offer. "I have one of the scimitars the goblins were using back there." He looks down at the blade, "It is not a very good sword, but is more my style than the axes. Thank you."
Erbert provides translation services and jots some notes, copies the map from Bronk into his journal. “Look fellas, he’s getting all animated. This is what he said a moment ago.”
You and him (pointing at Gneuman)….be Yip-whine.” He points to the others, “Not Yip-whine. Cloak human ….. no see…. Yip-whine. Bronk guard cloak humans. Yes. Many cloak humans. Yip-whine (said with different inflection at end). Hobgoblins (holding up two fingers. This time you are confident he means hobgoblin. Same inflection at end) lead Yip-whine (same new inflection). Humans lead cloak humans.”
“He’s really alert now, like he’s looking for something. I don’t think rushing right in is a good idea. What if we, dress up ourselves like Gobbos, (he points to himself and Gneuman), and try to walk in there and get this party started. Sew some discord, cause some confusion and delay? What do you think?” Erbert casts mage armor on himself.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Bran listens to what Erbert has to say. He gives Bronk a puzzled look as Erbert recounts what Bronk said. “You are sure it cannot understand us?,” he asks the group. After several of you agree, he continues, “We need Cleggor back with his gear. If my sword can be retrieved, I would like that as well.” He looks you each in the eye, “Are we strong enough for a direct attack on this camp? If we are, then let’s do it. This crew has been wreaking havoc in the area. If not, then another way to free Cleggor is needed.”
If Bran could fire his crossbow from the cliff edge while prone (once the chaos ensues), that would probably mitigate his lack of armor and suitable melee weapon.
You have defeated a lair of goblins led by a bugbear. During this battle you discovered that Cleggor Stonejaw was a captive of these goblins and was taken away from the lair by a half-orc you assume to be Craddock the Bold, Servant of Azzariol, Procurer of Souls, Excelsior.
You have Bran, Cleggor's bodyguard (we can discuss his talent level later) and Bronk (goblin seemingly now allied to the party) along with you. Bronk has led you to this place. There is a language barrier in communicating with Bronk, but, you seem to glean from his descriptions that if you keep moving you will be at the "Cloak Human" camp at "dark sky." Bronk has drawn out a map in the dirt which Erbert has copied into his Book of Everything. Bronk describes many Cloak Humans plus leaders as well as goblins and a few hobgoblins present in the camp.
Erbert has cast Mage Armor on himself to help keep him warm.
I will watch for a Plan of Action to be presented from here. If you have further questions for Bronk or Bran I will respond to those as well.

Gneuman appears to be the best at stealth. Hoid is not stealthy but is dexterous. We could have Gneuman scout and Hoid stay at range to proved longbow cover if scouting goes pear shaped.
I am not confident that a frontal assault is the best option given the lack of information we have on the forces present.

And what directions does Bronk say we will approach from?
I took the bolts and bolt case from our ambush on the way to Shalecliff. Bran can use my light crossbow if we do not have a spare?
Bran responds to Chadwick's offer. "I have one of the scimitars the goblins were using back there." He looks down at the blade, "It is not a very good sword, but is more my style than the axes. Thank you."
Bronk has only described what he knows about the camp.
I have 16 DEX, but no real stealth skills. I'm really small, though. /shrug
Gneuman is proficient in the Stealth skill so has a +5 bonus. Not bad at all.
Sounds as if Gneuman gives us our best stealth capability
Since our well laid plans never seem to go the way we intend, I think we need to also plan for Gneuman getting spotted and us having to charge in.
Erbert provides translation services and jots some notes, copies the map from Bronk into his journal. “Look fellas, he’s getting all animated. This is what he said a moment ago.”

Hoid’s extraneous crossbow was transferred to Bran.
Can we tell how high the cliffs are?
If Bran could fire his crossbow from the cliff edge while prone (once the chaos ensues), that would probably mitigate his lack of armor and suitable melee weapon.
I'll scope it out, if that's the plan. What does Bronk recommend?
When questioned about the height of the cliffs Bronk replies, "(holds up two fingers) tower tall. Tower (holds up five fingers) Yip-whine tall."
I'll scope it out, if that's the plan. What does Bronk recommend?
Bronk has no ideas to share.
I added a pink X where it appears that Bran (or any other ranged type) could get on the upper part of the cliff with the least amount of danger.
Let's review.
It is late afternoon, Day 3 from Shalecliff.

Fixed.
Potential starting plan.
Gneuman appears to be the best at stealth. Hoid is not stealthy but is dexterous. We could have Gneuman scout and Hoid stay at range to proved longbow cover if scouting goes pear shaped.
