Chadwick pushes on the door. After a strong push the block of stone moves into the wall. As it comes to clear the stone wall it easily pivots to the side, all silently.
Beyond the doorway is a room that is illuminated. You can see a large topaz sitting on the bare floor across the room. The floor and walls are of the same construction as the rest of this place. You can see the ceiling is domed up to 15-20’ high.
I'll step to the left hugging the wall. I'll check the ceiling for any nasties that might be lurking. If clear I'll continue to hug the wall until I get to the gem.
Chadwick moves into the room. As he does so, he notices air movement in the room. There is a gentle, almost unnoticeable movement of air. It seems to swirl about, coming from changing directions each time he perceives it. He walks along the wall and is standing beside the topaz. The ceiling is made of the same stone as the rest of this area. It domes up to a softly glowing disc at the apex. This fills the room with a soft illumination.
Chadwick reaches down to grab the topaz and run to the door to exit the room. As he does so the intermittent breezes he had been noticing become a swirling wind and an amorphous, vaguely bipedal creature made of swirling air forms in the room. It moves to follow Chadwick through the door.
Chadwick has the topaz.
Gneuman has the coins from the mimic room as well as the emerald.
Chadwick stops at the secret door and turns to face the creature. It stops about 10’ away from him and hovers there. Using Divine Sense, Chadwick learns the creature is neither good nor evil and is not celestial, fiend or undead.
Yay, nobody died!
Let's head back to the dead end and search for secret doors.
I took the liberty of moving everyone down with squishes in the middle.
Chadwick leads the way down the hall. A search is made at the dead end. He finds nothing.
All the rest search as well. Finally, Hoid notices Gneuman pointing to the wall. He traces the outline of a seam that is rectangular, about 4’ x 3’.
I'm just glad that I did something useful and didn't die.
So we know the door is there. How do we open it?
There are no operating instructions posted that you can see.
I try pushing it in. Could be a trap, so I'll wait for the others to back up first (10 feet seems good)

A few options I can think of
1. Continuing my obsession with shibari, we tie rope around gnome and have him grab it, then we can yank him back if something bad happens
2. I try and Indiana Jones it.
C. LeRoy Jenkins it, and just pick it up and hass ass back to hall before bad things happen.
IV. Put a backpack over it with rope tied to pack. Slowly pull it back to the hall.
(( Someone really mistreated you as a DM in the past… ))
I’m all for paranoia, but the solution here seems more like LeRoy Jenkins than any of the other solutions.
more like OJ in the Hertz commercial with a glove that fits!
Point to the character sheet where the mean old DM hurt you.

Chadwick has the topaz.
Gneuman has the coins from the mimic room as well as the emerald.
Hoid has the diamond and sapphire.
I'm not going to go through the door, but stay outside it so we have the option of surrounding it.
I'll use Divine sense and see if I can get a read off this thing.

Greetings apparition, are you who we are supposed to give the gems to?
No response.
