Oh right, the others would probably appreciate help. Well, here’s where those supplies he dropped some coin on should come in handy.
Wulcrath takes a moment from looking around to dig into his pack, producing his length of hempen rope. He’ll look around for a moment for something to tie it to before feeding some to the others.. Maybe something on the other side or perhaps a jutting branch? Safety first…
if he doesn’t find anything to tie it to though, he’ll just tie it around his waist like a mountain climber. He’s a big, strong Dragon boy! It’ll probably be fine.
There is a tree growing right next to the decaying giant that the dragonborn can tie the rope around. Its bark shows signs of damage, likely from the collision with the fallen trunk, but despite this, the tree appears robust and firm enough to support his comrades while climbing.

That should do the trick. Wulcrath heads on over to it, tying the rope around the base of the slightly damaged looking tree, hopping off the big one if he has to.
Once he’s confirmed it’s sturdy enough with a tug or two, he’ll toss the rope back over to the others. “Alright! That should do it then!”
Once Ella and Dracor have made it over the tree, Preston will climb using the rope provided by Wulcrath. Hopefully, that branch can bear his and his armor’s weight.
With such a display of teamwork, all of you have successfully climbed onto the trunk. The foliage and brush on the other side appear quiet and undisturbed.

"Alright. All in one piece then." Wulcrath nods as the others make their way up. Once everyone is together again and up the tree, he retrieves his rope and bundles it back up into his pack. Turned out to be a good purchase! Woulda thunk? "How are we all holding up?" The Red Dragonborn says, looking over his companions. "I hope we're on the right track..."

"Don't worry Wulcrath,I'm sure we will find Hal any moment!" The dragonborm would reply with a grin as he continued to look around and push down the path.

Preston looks over at the path ahead past the fallen tree. Some semblance of doubt creeps into his mind regarding if they’re on the right path. The map seemed to lead this way, but it wasn’t the most accurate map. A mistake could be possible.
The young soldier takes the lead again, keeping a lookout for anything out of the ordinary.
Wulcrath grins back down at Dracor. "Right, we'll handle it won't we?" though his forced smile quickly fades as he falls behind the other Dragonborn a bit and lets him move ahead. He's finding himself a little worried if he's being honest. Frankly, he's a little scared. For Hal and his family, for the Party that's unexpectedly formed, and for himself. He doesn't think the forest should be especially dangerous, but... He simply has a bad feeling. Those manic writings of the Farmer have put him on edge.
His gloved left hand gently drums at his scabbard in an uneasy rhythm as he follows his new companions. "How are you feeling Preston? We on the right track?" He asks the human. The Red Dragonborn can't completely hide the worry in his voice.
Preston is focused on the path forward. He’s barely paying attention to the rest of the party, when suddenly Wulcrath calls out his name. He is shaken out of his thoughts by this and turns abruptly to the red Dragonborn.
"What?…Yes. It’s fine. We’re on the right path.", he says dryly. He then goes back to trying to focus on the road ahead.
It’s clear that he’s worried. About Hal, but also about the group. There’s something about the forest making him uncomfortable.
As you continue walking, Dracor notices a torn piece of green fabric entangled in the brush nearby. Meanwhile, Ella suddenly senses an ominous presence. Just then, something brushes against her boot, causing her to feel a creeping sensation.

"Hey look! I found a clue! leave it to me to spot the first signs of our missing farmer! I'll have him saved in no time." He would say with a wide toothy grin as he plucked the cloth from the brush. then looking to the group he would add.. "With your help.. of course."
Wulcrath blinks down at Preston as he blows him off a bit. He finds himself strangely bothered by the Paladin's sudden shortness with him. The Dragonborn doesn't really know him, it shouldn't matter to him at all. But he lets out a little scoff. "Oookay...?" Though, he doesn't have too much time to be too upset about it before he's distracted by Ella and Dracor. "H-Hang on Dracor. What's going on Ella?" He says, stopping and tilting his head down at the Dwarf.

As soon as the commotion within the group begins, Preston grabs the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it should need be. He starts looking around for signs of movement.
"Whoever you are, show yourself! Now!", shouts the young paladin in a commanding voice.

"Are you sure it wasn't just a leaf or something?" Dracor replies as he casually glances around for anything that may have touched Ella. "I'm sure any creatures around here have been long scared off by the four of us stomping around on our way to find Hal." he would add with a grin.
As the group looks around cautiously, their vigilance pays off. Two massive centipedes, each nearly four feet long, emerge suddenly from the thick undergrowth. Their elongated, segmented bodies glisten in the dappled light filtering through the dense canopy above. Sinister clicks emanate from their menacing mandibles as they rear up, sensing the presence of the adventurers.
Despite their attempt at surprise, the creatures' strategy is thwarted by the party's vigilance. However, their aggressive stance makes their intentions clear. Roll for initiative as the threatening creatures advance, closing the distance to about 15 feet.
