The young blonde innocent looking girl's eyes meets those of the massive red dragonborn. He would most certainly break her, quite literary too, snap her like a twig, but that didn't seem to faze her. "Fortunately I have no plans on standing with the Dragon Queen, in fact I think we have good reason to join forces mighty Thraxinthos." She says with a friendly smile as she looks up at her massively framed cell mate. "Now we just have to wait for an opportune moment to leave and explore the rest of this old castle."She says with a small mysterious smile. "In the meantime, forgive my ignorance and curiosity but I would have thought the red dragonborn would have sided with the Dragonqueen and not against her?" She asks with an innocent smile.
The failed attempt was this rounds action. To try again you need to wait for the next round.
Consider it done :)
(OOC: @Kaemgen - Thinking about the action economy, you might want to have Zeds attempt to lock the door and then move away from the door. I think that the guards in the Outer Ward will make it to the door by the end of round 9, and if it's not locked, they're going to be able to enter the room and take an action. Unless Zeds plans to try holding the door against the new guards, you'll probably want to move away from the door. It's up to you whether Zeds would move move up the stairs, following Ixsas, or simply move away from the door on the ground floor. For example, he could move and use Cunning Action to hide so that the cultists don't spot him if they get into the room.
Anyway, if Zeds uses his movement to move away from the door, Kracklecould at least cast Create Bonfire this round just inside the door before he moves to follow Zeds. If the cultists throw open the door next round, a bonfire might discourage them from entering the room. It would at least make it likely that most of the cultists take some fire damage before they can get to Zeds or Krackle.)
"These scales are mine. They belong to me... The colour of my scales is red. The red belongs to me." Thrax responds, his eyes glowering with heat. "I am free. Free from the Dragon Queen."
Despite being aware of the suspicion he engenders, it appears to rankle Thrax to be associated with an entity he evidently loathes. Once more, he grunts and strains against the chains that bind him. The dragonborn performs another scan of the environment, looking for something, anything, that might be used to escape the manacles.
((Perception: 19))
Finally, his gaze comes to rest on Seraphina once more.
The young blonde innocent looking girl nods and gives the massive red dragonborn an understanding smile as he resolutely delcares his independence from the evil queen of dragons. She had the impression he was also convincing himself he was in no way bound by blood or tradition to the evil godess. At his question she simply blinks twice, seemingly surprised at first. "Because I am a servant of Selûne." She says plainly, as that would explain it all. "It is my quest to end the evil plans of Tiamat and her followers beacuse it is the will of the Moonmaiden." She says after a while to further clarify. "I admit I know precious little about what those plans are but I've been informed that her followers have brought heavy laden wagons here and I intend to find out what they held and why."
The door opens inward and there you see more cultists dressed slightly differently than the masked ones
You see 3 of them with the Green Drake nearby. The lead one smiles as he sees the bonfire and walks into the tower. Then the rest of the new cultists walk in as well.

((@Ben_Evolent - Thanks for the advice but I do believe what Zeds does after attempting to lock the door depends upon whether he succeeds or not. Rather than outlining his actions depending on all possible outcomes I just figured I would wait for DM to let me know if it worked or not.))
(((Or... as apparently will be the case here... something entirely different altogether since Zeds won't even get the chance to make the attempt.)))
Zeds is... chagrined... when the door burst open and three cultists barge in. He had been hoping to have a second crack at the damnable lock but that plan is a bust. He opens his mouth and is about to start prattling off some line of bullcrap to try to talk their way out of this but before he gets a word out scimitars are swinging and drawing blood from Krackle. He himself was barely lucky enough to duck and dodge out of the way...
Blades it is, he thinks to himself as he draws his pair of shortswords and attacks the two closest to himself.
Shortsword vs Pink Cultist: 25 to hit for 6 piercing damage plus 11 Sneak Attack damage. (17 damage total) BA Shortsword vs Yellow Cultist: 10 to hit for 7 piercing damage...
IF Krackle retreats to the stairs then Zeds would follow him, trying to place himself between the cultists and Krackle. (But Krackle would open himself to opportunity attacks, I believe, so he may not want to...). IF this does happen, Pink and Yellow could not take opportunity attacks vs Zeds due to his fancy footwork feature since he attacked them both.
IF Krackle doesn't move then Zeds will stay where he is... With the exception of stepping into Pink's spot if they happen to fall.
"Listen, do you hear that Thraxinthos? Sounds like fighting to me, but you would probably be a better judge of that." The young blonde innocent looking girl says with a hint of excitement now in her tone. "This could be our moment." She adds and utters a word in celestial, making her disappear in a silvery mist before reappearing standing in front of the still chained massive red dragonborn. "Whatever shall we do to set you free then?"She says, tapping a slender finger against her cheek, glancing out into the guard room for anything that might help her with releasing her newfound but unlikely ally.
Cast Misty Step and then Guidance Perception if relevant: 8 + Guidance: 2
The blonde girl notices an enormous axe leaning againts a wall in the next room and quickly moves to drag it back to her mighty cell mate. "I suppose this is yours anyway, perhaps you can use it to break the chains of the Dragon Queen." She says with a mysterious smile, handing the shaft to the massive red dragonborn, then taking a couple of quick graceful steps back, curious to see just how powerful Thrax is.
Round 10 2nd floor attacks intent non- lethal- If Ixsas is down...
((OOC: Almost. Saved by the Warding Flare, but he's down to 5 HP now. He doesn't have a lot of great options, and I'll have to think about what it makes sense for him to do in round 10.))
Seeing the half-elf cast a spell, Ixsas realizes that he has found Dralmorrer, but he is caught in their ambush, flat-footed and without his companions. He prays that Zeds managed to lock the door below as he raises his shield. Just as Darlmorrer raises his sword, Ixsas makes a gesture, and a light flares in Dralmorrer's eyes. Ixsas steps out of the way of the attack, and the dazzled half-elf misses. But Dralmorrer is an experienced fighter and follows with another attack before Ixsas is ready. One of the bodyguards joins Dralmorrer, attacking with a fanatical frenzy. Ixsas is hit multiple times and shouts down the stairs (for help? as a warning?), "Dralmorrer!!! And three bodyguards!" He prays that Zeds succeeded in locking the door and that his companions are already racing to join him...

ooc: sorry work and life are crazy.
Krackle would have been working to help Zeds but if he didn'tneed help, the kobold would indeed create a bonfire to cover their exit
