By the time the party rushes down the remaining few guards, Castellan, and even Governor Nighhill is fighting a losing battle. The townsfolk are doing whatever they can to get out of the way as they scream in panic.
All of a sudden, the invading forces stop.
From the darkness, a creature strides into the dim light of the dying fires around the keep. Although it is shaped roughly like a human, it is at least seven feet tall, its skin is covered in blue scales, its fingers bear wicked claws, and its face has the muzzle and reptilian eyes of a dragon. The creature stops about eighty yards from the main gate of the keep and scans the walls. A line of kobolds fans out behind it. With their spears, they prod four human prisoners into the dim light. You can make out a woman, a teenage boy in a blood-soaked tunic, and two children. Then the half-dragon creature hails the keep.
“Defenders of Greenest! This has been a successful night, and I am feeling generous. Do you see these four pitiful, useless prisoners? We have no need for them, so I will trade them back to you. Send out your best warrior to fight me, and you can have these four in exchange.”
One of the wounded guards' cries out "That's my family no. I''ll fight." He is already bleeding heavily and can barely stand.
Zeds looks over those closest to him, Krackle and Sterling and Ironthar, then turns to this… creature,,, and let’s out a loud, sharp whistle to get his attention.
“I’m your huckleberry,” Zeds calls out with a grin.
(I don’t think any of us have a chance but dunno if magic would be allowed or not? And Ironthar is out of rages it seems? Just.., save a heal for me?)
(No as the challenger is standing near the shattered gate. The angle is too steep for the ballista as its designed to damage far off targets. It worked on the dragon since it was so large)
“Not really that brave,” Zeds admits as he approaches. “I’d much rather prefer we settle this over a game of cards… or chess… like civilized men. But, Langdedrosa Cyanwrath… Mind if I just call you Langdy? You are threatening children. So brave or not, I have to step up. Just as win or not, you’ll always be a coward.”
With a few twirls and slashes of his rapier, Zeds steps into his starting position.
“I win you and all your friends drop every damn thing and leave here forever. You win you keep what you have but still leave here forever. Except the hostages. You release them… all of them. Fair enough, Langdy?” Zeds asks.
He lets out a laugh "Yes I agree I will leave and all those under my command win or lose and hand over the hostages, but not the loot. Now let's see what you are made of."
Krackle would throw Zeds his healing potion. "Drink this before the fight starts! It isn't a fair fight if your already half dead!" he would shout before ducking into the crowd. He would take a position where he could peak out and see the battle but was not easily seen by the imposing dragonborn. Right as the fight is about to start, Krackle would cast message as the dragonborn prepared to swing... whispering to the enemy "You are weak... You cannot win... You are no champion of mine..." in draconic.. trying his best to rattle the enemy
Performance / intimidation check to try to make him have disadvantage? Maybe? 5
As Langdy says “Yes I agree,” Zeds rushes in and attacks, ignoring whatever else he has to say, hoping to catch him off guard. Stepping in, Zeds drops his rapier and instead draws a dagger in either hand!
Dagger: Nat 1
Bonus Action Dagger Attack: 12 to hit for 1 damage

Zeds eating dirt…
If he got to take the healing potion before the fight he rolled for 5 points of healing so would have been at 14 hp. The first blow puts Zeds down. Mandy’s second swing would be at advantage if he takes it…

Cyanwrath strikes at Zeds to quickly dispatch him.
Attack: 9 Damage: 9
"As promised I will leave. Release the prisoners and move out!" says Cyanwrath.
The invaders leave including the dragon. There is a moment of silence as the townsfolk and governor are in disbelief that they would just leave as promised. Honor among thieves? some think.
Zeds is not dead, but unconscious with 2 failed death saves from the attack, but with 1 success. He is bleeding out though unless someone stabilizes him with a medicine check.

Krackle would race towards the fallen Zeds. "Anyone have a spare potion?" He would shout as he shoves his small clawed hands over his bleeding wounds... trying to stop the bleeding..
Medicine 12 plus 4 if given guidance
I should just stop rolling... I will just RP failures non-stop
(Yes opportunity, but that missed)

Ironthar stand behind about 30ft from Zed and the dragonborn. He watches as the rogue play what he does best.
