Nisha spends the time while they wait for Nathaniel to return looking at the door. She considers the sign in front, wondering if it sounds anyway familiar (History: 13), then checks if it is locked. Of course, it is.
Upon hearing the report of the tiefling once he is back, she scoffs. "No way I am going down a chimney." Thief or not, she still has some dignity left, besides, what would happen if at the other end of the chimney there is an actual fire burning or a soup brewing or anything like that.
His second suggestion, she seems to accept. "Let's look for traps then."

"Maybe this will help."The pale tiefling offers, using one of his own tools that hopefully would be able to deal with the annoying old lock, leaning in by the half-elf to get a better look.
Thieves Tools: 19 Another roll if help action is provided: 7
The lockpick meets more resistance than Nisha initially anticipated. Despite applying additional pressure, the lock remains steadfast, no matter how much effort the half-elf puts into unlocking it. Grimacing in frustration, she straightens with mild annoyance. The thought of the bubbling cauldron on the other side of the chimney feels closer than ever, sending a shiver down her spine.
As Nathaniel steps in to inspect the lock, Nisha gives him some space. Curious to observe his technique, this being her first time witnessing the tiefling in action, she stays nearby, ready to compare methods and offer assistance if needed.

Kaelen just stays quiet as they walk the streets. This was not the territory he was used to walking in the city and as such he just scans the road and rooftops. As they reach where they are going he stands guard looking over everyone and the alleyways.
Nathaniel also struggles with the lock as the tumblers seem not to want to move. With Nisha's help Nathanielf is able to finally unlock the door. Though trying to open the door results in the door not budging. Due to the door size and weight a bit of strength is needed to open the door.
Anyone can roll athletics to heave the door open. DC 15
The door squeals as it is pulled open by Kaelen. Revealing the Dying Viel guild hall in disrepair and there is a leak coming from the ceiling with green mold wherever the water pools. The hall floor is made of sandstone tiles and before you is a grand staircase replete with red faded carpeting that leads to the second floor. Ignore the back door as that does not exist. There are unlit braziers at each corner of the hall. Perhaps the assassins like the look of flames versus the more common light bulb. On each side of the hall are several wooden chairs half eaten by termites.
The all too curious tiefling slowly opens the door and peers inside, after motioning to the others in the team to be ready for the assassins to jump out and attack.
Nathaniel sees a sitting room with 2 couches and a black wooden cabinet on the northern wall. There are unlit braziers in each corner of the room. On the once beautiful blue carpet there is dried blood spatter. It looks like someone tried to scrub it clean, but their efforts just ended up smearing the blood even more across the carpet.

Nodding to the others, the pale winged tiefling motions for the tortle and the rest of the team to head inside. Once they all are in the room, Nathaniel would start searching it for any clues to what is going on here currently, checking the black wooden cabinet for traps, the inside it, then the carpet, what's under it and if the stain is fairly recent.

Through her expert eyes Nisha does not detect any traps.
Since she doesn't notice anything too alarming, Nisha will then start working the lock, accepting Nathaniel's help.

The lock pick snags on a bit of rust and the tumblers remain locked.
Nisha failed in her attempt to unlock the door.
Perhaps Nathaniel can give it a try.
Gavyn will attempt to recall anything he knows about the assassin's guild, its peculiarities, and anything with the name Mawthorn in it.
History: 12
Gavyn vaguely remembers Mawthorn was a brand name for a manufacturer for something. As to what Gavyn is not sure as it was.

Nathaniel does not hear anything at the door to C2 and there seems to be no traps on the door. The door is not locked.
Do you open it?

The black cabinet is trapped with tiny pin holes that could release poison gas.
The blood has been there for no longer than a day.
Lifting the rug, you see more blood that must have seeped through the carpet.
Anyone can try to disarm the trap.
The pale tiefling motions over the half-elf to the black cabinet, showing her the tiny pin holes, ready to assist her if she would try to disarm it.
