Nisha scoffs and rolls her eyes, unable to suppress her reaction completely. Leaning casually against the door frame, she keeps a careful eye on Laine as he moves across the hall to investigate the next room. His demeanour and the fact she hasn't managed to put him in one of her categories so far unnerves her at times. Unlike Nathaniel who seems to approach all things mysterious with some curiosity, Nisha does so with caution bordering on the extreme, not being a fan of the unknown.
"Found anything interesting with those weird braziers?" the half-elf calls out to the tiefling, glancing back in the first room, kind of wondering if there is anything else keeping the rest of the party inside.

Kaelen just follows in after his companions taking caution of the open floor area. He just draws his weapon and shield as the ominous silence and emptiness hits him as odd. He chooses to just stand in the center as his companions go about searching the various rooms in case any of them encounter trouble and need assistance.
The pale winged tiefling makes a mental note about the peculiar braziers, then glancing over at the half-elf with an amused smile over the brief exchange with Mr. Laine. "Perhaps, some sort of invisible flame I believe but I'm not sure of it's purpose yet. Don't think it will be pertinent to our mission though." He answers Nisha with a shrug, then joining her by the door, waiting for the tortle to join them too before following Mr. Laine into the room across the main hall. "I hope this investigation is not boring you already Ms. Nasha, we have barely started I'm afraid. Keep your chin up and I'm sure we will find something rewarding for your backpack." He says quietly with a sly smile as he passes the half-elf by the door.
The rug in C8 does not budge as Laine tries to lift it, Maybe the dirt and grime has cemented to rug to the floor. It is odd though that not even the corner of the rug would even lift up a little. Laine surmises something amiss is going on here.

Gavyn finds a meeting room with a long, beautiful table emblazoned with the Dying Viel emblem. Gavyne does not notice anything strange, but he may have been distracted.
"I knew there was something weird about them, "Nisha mutters under her breath somewhat unconvinced. Despite her uncertainty, she manages to return a small smile to the tiefling. She doesn't mention how the whole place is giving her the creeps, but her eyes dart around warily. The sight of Kaelen drawing his weapon and standing guard provides a slight reassurance. Maybe the cleric senses something is off in here as well. The thought furrows her brow, leading her mind to wander momentarily as she wonders whether the minotaur is having some divine premonition that things are about to go south, or maybe he just decided he'd like to keep himself out of the dust and cobwebs of the rooms.
Observing Laine examining the carpet and Gavyn exploring what seems to be a dining room or something similar to it, Nisha contemplates her next move. Perhaps exploring another room might yield more intriguing discoveries. Her mind doesn't find any particularly good reason to stand around bickering with people. Not that she doesn't relish it, but discovering what hides behind the other doors seems a more enticing prospect at the moment. Or at least she can check if the next room is unlocked?

"Mmm... not originally a carpet.. "he says to himself. He isn't strong enough to dispel the magic, unfortunately. He gives it a few prods with his dagger. "Might be a door." He then turns to the tiefling. "There's braziers in the other room, weird thing to be inside, right?"
He scrambles up, going back to look at the braziers, settling his gaze and his detect magic on them.
"Evocation, great. Magic braziers, magic rug, alright." He moves closer to them to see if there is any writing on them, or near where they are stationed in the room. There's four of them?
Meanwhile the pale winged tiefling follows over to the half-elf. "Need any assistance Ms. Nasha?" He says with a confident smile, holding up a slender tool for picking locks.

While wondering what to do, Nisha observes Laine walking around the braziers with a slightly bemused expression. 'So much for the magic carpet ride,' she quietly quips to herself, relishing the fleeting moment of self-satisfaction before she needs to remind herself yet again that this is supposed to be a team effort. Perhaps she should focus on her own problems, currently represented by the locked door behind her, instead of gloating about other people's.
As if reading her mind, Nathaniel approaches, offering some help. The half-elf nods in agreement and starts working on the lock. "This is the only one locked so far, so maybe it hides the best secrets," she remarks with a small grin.

Kaelen will move towards his companions and just nod looking at Nisha "Pelor guide you in this endeavor." he says in a small prayer to provide her Guidance.
Laine examines the braziers, but there seems to be no writing or inscription that could be found.
The door to C7 is quickly unlocked by Nisha.
Upon opening the door, you see a study that is clean with a wooden desk and bookshelves full of books. There is no signs of abandonment as there is not a single speck of dust or cobwebs. The desk has an ink well and inkpen with 2 drawers. The carpet looks almost brand new. A fire blossoms in the large fireplace as you enter the room, slowly warming this study. Even the stale air is gone in this room. There is a comfy reading chair in the corner of the room.
Laine proceeds to talk quietly to himself as he messes with the braziers, doing small tests. Notably cutting off a bit of the carpet and throwing it into a brazier to see if it lights on fire due to the magic of them. Four braziers, four vials... He groans, pulling out his kit to begin testing the contents of the vials.

This seems to be a sitting room as well with less comfortable chairs and covering a good section of the room is red rug.
Laine begins searching the room, lifting up the rug for good measure.
