(Yep, I saw Laine's post, but the ink was not changed yet)
The fire calms down back to a cheery fire and the illusion is dispelled. Inside the folder you see biographical information on the citizens of Hupperdook, from their age to their occupation. You even find your own names underlined by red ink. More concerning is that you also see Bram Gulchswattle's name underlined as well.
Gavyn is distracted by the book about the magical prodigy as the others try different things around the fire. As they react to their discovery, he finally looks up from the book and wanders over to see what they have.
"Why,"he says, clearly uncomfortable, "Uh...why are we noted like that?"
"Why indeed..."The pale tiefling says, continuing to look through the lists of names. "...the only thing I can think of that the five of us have in common is our connection to the Watchmaster, so if we are unlucky this is a hit list to be used by whoever is left to continue the work of this assassin's guild to assassinate those who would oppose its coming resurgance."
"Well, isn't this a nice drawing," Nisha remarks as the illusion fades away. Eager to uncover the purpose behind this hidden information, she begins scanning the documents..
"Someone did quite the homework..." she mutters as she keeps reading, but then her words suddenly get caught in her throat as she glances over a peculiar entry.
Nisha (22) Thief. Place of origin: ???
Her eyes widen in disbelief, her thoughts racing faster than her ability to process them. How can this be? She has been so meticulous in concealing her identity, so careful, how could these guild assassins or whatever know?
A cold sweat prickles at the back of her neck as the blood drains from her face. Someone has unearthed her closely guarded secret. Paranoia grips her as she cast wary glances at her companions, her mind darting through possible suspects. Do they have a traitor in the group? But no, this can't be right. She hasn't even disclosed her real name to anyone among the group. Yet, here it is, staring right back at her, underlined with the stark red ink to make it stand out even more.
Thinkthinkthinkthink. Breathe in, breathe out. Focus. Perhaps nobody will notice, it is one letter after all and they are probably all in shock after finding out their own names written in the paper, not to mention Bram's.
"I think we are done here, " Nisha finally says, more confidently than she expects, and she makes her way out of the room.

"Well.. it seems we've been being watched closely. We should report our findings, let Bram know he has eyes on him.."Laine says, looking unperturbed at the findings. In fact he almost looks impressed.
Kaelen just sighs gripping his weapon and shield tighter "So our name is on a hit list and we walked right into their den...any chance there's a bunch of people waiting for us as we leave?" he asks looking at his companions and then walking back to the door of the room and sticking his head out for a peek "Pelor help us." he says asking for guidance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Once in the grand hall, Nisha spends a few moments recollecting herself and trying to focus on any sounds or presence on the upper floor (Perception: 20 with guidance? 4). Didn't Bram say last night that there was a leak somewhere? Of course he did. Probably this person took hold of the gnome's documents or something which would explain everything. No need to point daggers at the rest of the party... yet. Still, her fingers grip the hilt of one of her blades, as if to find some reassurance. At least one less mysteries to solve now. That would leave the carpet, the vials, and the braziers. And whatever is in the last two rooms on this floor.
With that, Nisha decides she can quickly check out the dining/meeting room, in case Gavyn might have missed something (C3, Investigation: 4 + guidance if it is still working 3). If there isn't anything particularly intriguing, she will just wait for a bit in the great hall with Kaelen.

Aeran Dormaris - L2 Paladin on his way to Phandelver
Laine is the last person out of the office. Out of his cloak he produces a small bat that is black in coloration with purple eyes that match his own. "You stay here. Be watchful of the witch's return, and most importantly, stay hidden."he says quietly to the creature.
The familiar stares up at him, understanding his meaning and flying off into a corner of the room to mingle with the shadows.
Laine then exists the room with his hands in his pockets, he takes a long look at Nisha. He wonders what the elf is hiding. She's not doing it well apparently. He stays in the hall for now as she wanders into another room.
Nisha's eyes fall on the prominent seat in the meeting room and for a brief moment, her worries give way to other thoughts. Glancing behind her to make sure nobody has followed her so far, she sighs and sits down, fingers tapping absent-mindedly on the table. It is much easier to be fidgety when there is nobody around to judge you. What is more, this seat in particular seems pretty good for judging others.
The half-elf leans back in the chair, her gaze shifting lower, when she notices a peculiar little detail. A small, almost imperceptible red button under the table, right next to her. Her hand reaches forward, halting mid-air as she considers it. Worst case scenario, a giant axe appears out of nowhere and decapitates her. What else could happen? From her position, the possibilities seem endless.
"Only one way to find out"
Another glance at the door as if to ensure nobody will catch her red-handed... and she presses the button.
There was something wrong with the list of names. The names underlined in red ink would almost make sense if it wasn't for the name Nisha instead of the name Nasha. After thoroughly checking the lists for any mistakes, the pale tiefling finally looks up and finds the half-elf gone. With a small smirk, Nathaniel brings the lists and follows over to the dining/meeting room only to see Nisha about to do something...
The door to C3 slams shut and locks and the light in the room lowers into darkness. From the center of the table rises skull formed from light. It slowly turns to Nisha "Who are you and where is Vantoss?" the voice is deep and distorted somehow. There is a commanding presence in this skull with dark eyes that seem to stare into Nisha's soul.

Stepping inside the room just before the door slams shut and locks and the light in the room lowers into darkness, the pale winged tiefling tries to avoid beeing seen by the ominous skull. If they only had a chance to trick the the skull to reveal something, but how would they impersonate Marym Vantoss?

Nisha sees a small red push button right under the table next to the most prominent seat at the head of the table.
Kaelen does not see anyone outside as he peeks out.
Kaelen moves with Nisha to the grand hall, keeping his weapon ready if she moves out of the room.

Gavyn hears the door slam shut and runs into the hallway, turning the knob on the locked door.
"Where is Vantoss?," he hears.
The tortle thinks quickly.
"You locked the door on me," Gavyn says, muffling his words a little with his own hand. "I'm still in the hall."
