Nisha's hands freeze, as she notices the gears inside the suit of armor. The half-elf hesitates, suddenly overcome by an unpleasant, dreadful feeling. "You know, Laine, I have a bad feeling about this."
She points at the cogs inside the body armor. "This looks sus..."

Nisha figures each suit of armor are machine guardians. There is a question etched onto the metal shoulder guard. What is this made of? The plans offer options but no definitive answer,
"Most likely some sort of security device..."The pale winged tiefling says, coming up after Laine and Nisha to the second floor. "...let me take a look at it and assist you Ms Nasha, if we would need to disable it before we proceed."

"Well, Mr Nathaniel, how is your metal knowledge, because we need to figure out what these things are made of from the looks of it, " Nisha responds, as she carefully examines the suits of armor.

"Doesn't look good, yeah. I can't say I'm familiar with metals, more of a.. plants guy."He looks at the armors with interest before stepping back once more.

Gavynis in awe of all the gizmos and gadgets they encounter as they make their way through the place. He is tempted briefly to start tidying and sorting the books but fights the impulse and trails behind the others, peering at open books and documents laying about. Once they stop at the mechanical armor, he looks on over Nathanieland Nasha'sshoulders.
The pale winged tiefling gives Laine a quick smile. "As much as I would like to help, metals are not quite my area of expertise and my only interest in it would be to afford me a continued pleasant life. I'd much rather deal with people than constructs when I can." Nathaniel answers Nisha with a friendly smile. "What about you Gavyn? Any idea what this impressive armour would be made of?" He then asks the more scholarly tortle behind them.
"Well, it's definitely not copper or mithril, because the color and sheen, you see"Gavyn says with a confidence that he usually betrays with nervous tics on less academic topics. "Similarly, I would rule out iron, because of not just the appearance but also that it wasn't really used to build suits of armor like this, at least not historically. Why would you when you could just use the iron to make steel."
He gives a little laugh-snort.
"Copper, for that matter, wouldn't be used in this fashion either, even if it has been used artistically to create statues with full armor pieces. Adamantine is a possibility but highly unlikely, given that the amount of adamantine it would take to make a full clockwork suit of armor would be ridiculously expensive and take maybe 10 times as long to work with as steel. On top of all that, steel is the most common metal for suits of armor such as this, though not with the clockwork mechanisms inside. I'd definitely bet on steel. Which isn't to say that..."
The tortle trails off to a low mutter as he continues to weigh the pros and cons of the metals involved.
"Well thank you for the captivating lecture professor. It's good that we can take our time with this fascinating subject as time is not a factor at all."The pale tiefling says with a quick smirk. "So the short of it is the construct is made of steel then?" He says, looking to Nisha to see what she needed the answer for.
As Gavyn utters the word steel the clockwork suit of armor on the left opens the door and goes back into sentry mode. The room contains a collection of different metals and detailed notes on their properties such as tensile strength and durability under different conditions. There is so sign of Huron here, but her customary teacups are also here.

Nisha shrugs as the door opens and enters the room. After seeing the sentry move about, she is very glad they don't have to get into any altercation with it. Hopefully, it will still be in peaceful mood after they get out too.
As she walks inside, the rogue scans her surroundings carefully (perception: 3), before focusing in more detail on the drawers. (investigation: 6)

The pale tiefling gives the tortle a quick nod of acknowledgement for opening the door before following the half-elf into the room beyond, quickly checking the cups for warmth, you never know, then quickly checking the room for any apparent dangerous designs worth stealing.
The teacup is warm, but empty. Huron must have been here recently. Nisha, Laine and Nathanel find a small cat head sculpture made of metal with a topaz gem in its left eye in one of the drawers. It easily fits in the palm of your hand. Though you don't see any clockwork keys in this room.
Nisha tilts her head to one side, observing the doors. "Shall we start with the first one then?"
After she checks that there are no obvious traps around (Perception: 12), she will get to work.

You cannot tell what metal it is by just looking at the suit of armor. Do you scrape some of the metal?
Those who are familiar with metals please roll History DC 15.
