Aurora approaches her, surprised to see the girl. "Oh good morning, Maths! This is Archimedes, my familiar. Feel free to pet him if you want, he loves scratches!" She says, while scratching the little owl's head.
Mira smiles at the little girl, "Greetings Maths. How are you today?" *Is Granny Nauseas still with us or did she go off to do something else?*
*Granny Nauseas is clearly listening intently, but quite confident to let you do the leading, she doesn't want to steal your thunder*
Maths smiles back. "Me? I'm doing super well! Problems to solve, places to stake out! I heard that one of the servers at the tavern, Fyll's mom, is being rather jumpy, maybe she knows something we don't!" You would know Fyll as one of the younger students at the local school.

Maths gingerly puts a finger out and boops his head, then giggles with glee. "So fuzzy!"

"Is that so? We should go have a little chat with her then! Would you like to come along, Maths?"
You walk up to the Yapping Dog Tavern, so named because of the small, fluffy white dog that the owner allows to patrol to keep mice and rats out. You walk in, and the very strong, ugly smell of spilt beer and spirits pierces your nostrils, causing a low-key sting. The owner and barkeep, Jasmin, is mopping the floor in one corner. As soon as you walk in, a short man with a strange curled moustache dashes up to Granny Nauseus, looking concerned. "You realize the tavern is closed right now, no?"
Granny Nauseus nods. "Yep! I'm just helping my fellow detectives to work out who stole the pumpkins. Knopper, Aurora, Mira, ask away!" The waiter sighs, then turns to look at you all.
Aurora nods at Granny Nauseas' words. "Good morning, Jasmine! We are actually investigating the events of this morning with Farmer Gourd. Do you happen to know anything about it?"

Knopper slams his little claws down on the bar, despite the bartender not being there at the moment. "Where are the pumpkins?!" He's been eating some of the candy he brought with him, and he's getting excited.
As the man opens his mouth to respond to Jasmine, Knopper slams his claws down, making the man jump. "Oh dear, you think we have the pumpkins? Do you know how many customers we're going to lose if they're not found? This village will be overridden with spirits, overridden I say! No-one will come here for food, no-one, we'll be out of business!" The man seems to be in almost Shakespeare in the Park-levels of hammy, but even without an insight check you can see the lines of tension on his forehead. He doesn't find the situation funny at all, he's just trying to not terrify you all.
"Fyll's mother? You mean Masha? No, she won't be in until later this afternoon, she works the first evening shift. She lives at the end of Blacksmith Road."

Do you guys continue on to the tavern?

I think so, yes
Yes, sounds good to me.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
May each word that I speak be backed by each of my teeth.

"May I ask whether you are missing anything from this establishment?"
The man frowns. "Why, no... but Sally the baker didn't arrive with her customary dough delivery this morning, so the chef's working overtime today."

Do we see anywhere around Fyll's mom?
You don't seem to see anyone that matches their description in the tavern right now, but you could ask

"Anyway, we are also looking for Fyll's mother. Is she here?" Aurora asks, still looking around.

"Has Sally ever been late on her delivery? Does she have her own shop here in the village? Has anyone seen her today?"
