Akyan decides not to respond to Anthony as Kora interrupts their "chitchatting". He hadn't really expected anyone to let the thing bite them outright, but he also didn't really waltzing up to a bloodthirsty undead with a fresh wound would be a great idea either. Luckily it seems like Anthony has dropped the idea anyways.
He follows directly behind Zathon and Kora as the group files into the dark basement. He can see in the dark, so he had intended to make sure those who couldn't got around just fine, though this ends up being pointless since Anthony can grant darkvision. Such a convenient trick. Then Kora transforms into a spider. Also a convenient trick. Bringing his thoughts back to the task at hand, he fixes his attention on Doru. Gritting his teeth as the vampires words sink in. Gah! That blasted priest! And he'd even felt bad for that man.
He glances back at the door for a moment, hearing the lock turn and seeing the faint glow of candle light. Well, at least the vampire won't be escaping. So long as they manage to kill it Kora could probably squeeze through the floor and open the door after the fight...or maybe someone has a spell that could open it. Either way that's not the current problem.
He continues to watch Doru warily as Zathon and Anthony start asking questions. However, he's not holding out hope that they'll get much out of him in his current state. For now, he'll wait and see what happens, but if that thing makes any move to attack his siblings, he'll send a psychic blade flying strait at it's head.
Doru watches Zathon approach with and eager wariness. You see his one of his eyes begin to twitch as he stares hungrily at you. At Zathon's question, you see a look of confusion cross his face before his eyes go wide with horror. He brings both clawed hands up to the sides of his head as he quietly gasps, "By the Morninglord, I've killed so many people!" You see a brief moment of lucidity in his eyes, a shadow of who he used to be. He looks up at Zathon, his face twisted in a pleading expression as he whispers, "Please, you need to kill me." That moment of lucidity fades quickly, a primal hunger taking its place.
When Anthony mentions Strahd, Doru snaps his focus over to the man, grinning too widely to be natural. "Yes, the Master. He will be pleased with my work here," he croons. The mention of Aoelwyn doesn't seem to register with him.
At Jared's outburst, insanity glimmers in Doru's eyes once more as he, with a maniacal giggle, lunges towards Zathon with fangs and claws outstretched.
Hard to be that surprised by the feral lunge under the circumstancesr, but as he's about to join the fray, the joint in his leg brace seizes up and the hesitation puts him on his back foot. Maybe for the best. Give him a chance to see what the others are doing.
Kora cringes as Doru proclaims that he has killed so many people. This was a situation definitely needed to be handled and it wasn't going to be by that weak Father.
Briefly distracted by whoever has apparently locked them into the storage room, Kora is brought back quickly to the situation at hand when Doru lunges towards Zathon.
Kora-spider makes a quick decision and with advantage from her hidden location, shoots out a web to attempt and restrain the man (attack: 17 - DC STR of 12 to break out if it hits)
Ever wary, Kora manages to fire off a mass of silken threads that bind Doru in place from her place withing the shadows. Doru grunts in surprise at his gossamer encasing, and he struggles to break free from the webs as Aoufie targets him with insidious mind magic. Surprisingly, Aoufie feels his mental intrusions rebuffed by Doru's iron will. Even if he is insane, his mind still retains some measure of keenness.
Akyan's blades are next. They slice silently through the air towards the vampire, and Doru drops to the ground instinctively at their approach. One of the blades zips over his head and the other strikes a glancing blow upon his stony hide, but it dissipates before it can do any damage.
Jared wades into melee range and swings his mace* in a heavy downward arc. The flanged weapon's head smashes into Doru's thin frame, drawing a yelp of pain.
Enlivened by the pain of his wound, Doru struggles and flails against his bindings, and with a grunt of concentration, he manages to burst free of the webs. As he struggles, you see the wound Jared inflicted begin to fade away, leaving perfect unmarred flesh in its place. Doru takes a few steps back and then stands his ground, a feral hiss escaping his fanged maw.
Suddenly, you begin to hear snatches of distant whispers. A fell wind begins to swirl about the church, extinguishing the candles above as it grows in strength. As it grows to a howl, the whispers fill your mind and ears with darkness, poisoning the world around you with its necromantic phrases. You sense an evil presence within the wind and whispers, the presence of an ancient terror. The wind converges upon the patch of disturbed earth, and the damp earth begins to shake as a rotting hand bursts forth from the soil. The wind and whispers are sucked into the corpse as it begins to pull itself from it earthen grave. You see that it is the corpse of a young man who appears to have been dead for about a month now. Patches of skin and muscle have sluffed away as the corpse was decomposing in the earth, revealing patches of bone and pale organs. The zombie rises to its full height, and you see thousands upon thousands of maggots and grubs pulsating with life within the corpse, spilling out of wounds.
Doru's smile widens with the rise of the zombie. "My master sent me a gift," he says as he giggles once more.
*((I assume he is using his mace. Correct me if I'm wrong))
Zathon swings widely, Doru's flailing making him hard to target. ----------------------------- To Hit: 11 Damage if hits: 7 Smite if hits: 22 radiant damage

As Zathon engages with Doru, the zombie raises and maggot-bloated, rotting fist and and attempts to slam Jared into submission
SlamAttack: 21 Damage: 7 bludgeoning damage. If it hits, you must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 5 piercing damage on a failed saving throw as maggots burrow into you. In addition, on a failed saving throw, you will take 1d6 piercing damage on the beginning of your turn. On a successful saving throw, you take no additional damage, and you can repeat this saving throw at the end of your turn.
Things weren't going great already, the vampire seemed to be in less misery than it had seemed, but no one was hurt yet, "Alright big guy, let's do this." He takes hold of his holy symbol and summons a glittering beam of moonlight down onto Doru. It might not do a lot on its own, but he's hoping it will keep him on his toes and easy for the others to see. Shield up he moves in front of those less well armored, that's going to have to do it for now.

Kora-spider seeing the disgusting creature emerge from the earth she decides to steer clear of getting maggots in her mandibles and crawls down to the floor and flanks herself with Zathon. She goes in for the bite...
Attack: 16 Damage: 7
If her fangs sink into the palid flesh of Doru, make a DC CON 11 save or 6 poison damage (half if saved)
Narrowly dodging Duro's attack, Jared will strike with his mace again. "Ok." he says as he swings the mace. "I've been hit, cut, and burnt but never has anyone tried to throw maggots on me."

Anthony’s spell blazes to life in the church undercroft, searing Doru’s flesh. He cries out in pain, but his unholy nature seems to resist the light. He grimaces through the pain of being flayed by diving power. The pain seems to bring him some mental clarity as he once again resists Aoufie’s magic.
Seeing an opportunity to strike, Kora scampers across the ground and sinks her fangs into Doru’s flailing arm. His flesh is cold and hard, and she has a hard time getting in a solid bite. Regardless, she pumps venom into his undead veins.
Turning his attention to the zombie, Akyan throws his blades towards the zombie. His blades cut clean through the shambling corpse, and maggots and bits of decayed flesh’s spray from the wounds. It stumbles and almost falls to the floor, but it remains on its feet.
Jared delivers another solid hit against Doru, his mace vibrating in his hands with arcane energy.
Screaming in agony and blind rage, the vampire springs forward and tackles Zathon, bringing his claws and fangs to bear.
Claw attack: 9
