(sorry, was waiting on Akyan to go before I posted) After taking a hit, Jared dropped his mace. His breathing becomes rapid and is about to act when Zathon takes the vampire out. It takes a moment for Jared to calm back down. "Good Shot!: he tells Zathon.
Seeing the threat is over for now, Kora-spider scuttles back up the stairs, directly to the now locked door and taps on it incessantly. Looking back towards her companions, impatiently waiting for one of them to try and open it.
Anthony relaxes as, with the maggots no longer actively attacking, he's able to quickly brush the remainder off. While the others sort themselves out, he does a quick search of the place, trying to get a sense of how many people Father Donovan fed to his son and looking for anything else of note.
((Passive Perception is 14, roll of 6 for doing a scan))
Taking a moment to stomp the maggots out of his boots, Akyan follows Kora back to the door. Once there, he checks the lock for traps if he finds non, he pulls out his lock picks and gets to work.
He was no expert in vampires, but knew well enough that many types of undead were difficult to destroy and continued to spread foulness afterward. "We should burn these bodies before we bring anyone back here. This whole room is befouled." Though he knew to would do next to nothing to truly cleanse anything. He summoned a few gouts of holy fire onto some of the worst areas.
As Anthony searches the room for more bodies, he doesn't see any with a quick scan. When he takes little bit more time and roots around in the mixture of maggots and soil, he discovers a shallow grave where the zombie rose. He finds another corpse lying facedown in the grime, its body in a more advanced stage of decay than the zombie you just defeated. You might be able to find more if you take the time to do some digging.
Akyan doesn’t find any traps on the door, and he picks the simple lock with ease. A good shove would have probably broken the lock more quickly than picking it would have.
Kora-spider breathes a sigh of relief when one of her brothers finally comes and opens the door for her. Though she shakes her head when she sees how easily she probably could have shoved it open. As soon as he opens it, she bursts through the doorway, looking around for anyone still in the church. A worried feeling for Ireena starting to creep in to her thoughts...
"We should burn the who efing thing down." He looked to Zathon, suspecting he's the one most likely to understand. "What ever this once was, It hasn't been a church in a long time. If we leave this mess, it will fester, and if we have to come back this way.. we could find a whole village of these things. Looking out for the people who live here or saving ourselves worse trouble later..."
"Before we burn down this church, we should at least ask Ireena. She probably knows this village best. I too feel like this place will need a good cleansing, but this is not our home to do whatever we want" says Aoufie as he opens the front door of the church to see if he can see Ireena nearby or Father Donovan

Perception 14
As Kora scampers about the church, it appears much as it had before, except that the many feeble candles scattered throughout the edifice are extinguished. In addition, as she skitters across one of the walls in the chapel, one of her legs pushes on a secret door that swings open to the outside. It appears to have been opened a crack, and just a little bit of pressure was all it needed to open up.
She sees that it is raining outside. Looking out, she spots a few muddy footprints set into the damp earth leading to and from the secret door. They look fresh, probably made sometime in the past few minutes. The ones leading to the door come from the small cemetery behind the church, while the ones leading away from the church head towards town. Both sets look to be made by the same person.

I too feel like this place will need a good cleansing, but this is not our home to do whatever we want" says Aoufie as he opens the front door of the church to see if he can see Ireena nearby or Father Donovan
Raising the bar holding the church doors shut, Aoufie pushes open the door and is greeted the the drab sight of Barovia. Rain pours out from the solemn sky overhead, rinsing the town of some of its grime.
You see Ismark approaching the church from the town. As he nears, a chagrined smile forms on his face as he says in an embarrassed tone, “Sorry about that. Always had a hard time controlling my temper.”
His smile fades as he sees the grime and wounds upon your legs and feet. Looking concerned, he asks, “What happened to you? Is Ireena ok?” His hand drops to his blade, worry for his sister clearly etched on his face.
Whatever he thought should be done. Anthony wasn't near enough of a loose cannon to torch a building in a foreign land on a whim. He was, however, a loose enough canon to begin hauling corpses out of the cellar, with or without help, to build a pyre in the back.
He gives Ismark a somber look, but leaves it to the others to explain what happened.
"Ireena stepped outside with Father Donvan as we had to deal with his vampire spawn of a son Doru and a zombie. I do not know where she went after I closed the church doors. Since you are here, I need to ask what we should do with this church. I doubt it is a holy site for quite some time as you can see the state of this place" says Aoufie to Ismark
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Between the rain and the gnawing curiosity as to why someone would lock them in with the ghoul, Kora looks behind her hoping that Akyan is still with her, and then heads out into the rain to try and follow the tracks that head into town.
Anthony quietly wonders to himself, as he hauls and prepared to dispose of bodies with a mass pyre, why the others are looking for footprints when Ireena told them she was taking Donovan to the tavern. Maybe they missed her saying that in the hubhub. "Ismkark, she said they were headed to the pub, and, I think it goes without saying," as he'd hefting another corpse, "Father Donovan probably shouldn't be trusted."
Akyan seems a bit annoyed that he wasted time picking the lock, but is also a bit confused as to how the frail door kept the vampire at from escaping. Perhaps the boy did still have a sliver of humanity left keeping him in check? Putting his lock picks away, he follows Kora into the rain. He doesn't know about the others, but he certainly would like to know who tried to lock them down there.
Knowing Kora can't speak in that form, he reaches out to her with his mind. "Let me know if you find anything."He pauses for a moment, realizing he's never spoken to her in this way before. He hadn't explored this ability until joining the guild after all. "You should be able to respond to me though your thoughts." He adds.
Then he calls to Anthony, "You are certainly right about Donovan, but I have a hunch that it wasn't him who locked us down there. I doubt Ireena let him wander alone."

Once he gets outside Jared starts looking for tracks. Specifically, a pair walking together.
