Death in-game will follow general rules in 5th edition, death saves start on the next turn. Some might make a medicine check to stabilize Violet. But if you're in the middle of fighting, you can't concentrate (unless you've warpriest or something) so you roll with disadvantage. DC will be 13 for now.

Pict watches Violet's body hit the mossy earth with a soft thud. Enraged, he concentrates again on his connection to the beam of moonlight, sweeping it again on top of the Bandit Captain to sear his flesh. But afterwards, his eyes are all on Violet.
"Not yet lass, not today.. Time to get back up now.." He whispers to himself, drawing upon an energy within him that he could feel pooled inside. It was his connection to not just the forest, but something more. He recognized it as the Fey, lending him strength. He directed that energy towards Violet, and a glowing mist formed around her body, sealing her most serious slash wounds.

I draw another arrow. From my vantage the archer appears to be almost finished. Such a formatable foe. But now,it’s time for him to take his rest. The arrow flies, cutting through the air. A loud thud as the arrow sticks deep into the archers chest as we falls back and becomes motionless.
"Wait! I yield! I yield!" screams the Captain and drops his weapon, seeing that now he is left alone. "Please don't kill me! I... I know things!"
Captains reinforcements, which is larger bulk of the group are on the other side of the barn that is almost finished burning by now. Whatever it is you need to decide and do, you should do it quickly, before they realize their captain is missing. Alternatively, you could keep his as hostage to make sure they stay away.
I leap from the tree after shouldering my bow. I retrieve my quarterstaff in midair before striking the ground behind the captain. I make my way over to the archer to retrieve the arrow and any items he may have on him.
Pict dissipates his moonbeam and gives a sigh of relief when the Captain surrenders. He spares a glance at Violet and Crassus and is relieved to find they are also stable.
"Alright lad, spit out what you know, quickly now, and we'll be on our way, no more bloodshed. But if you or yer fellows follow us there'll be blood for sure." Pict shouts to the Captain, eyeing the burning barn warily for any signs of the others from his band.

Violetslowly comes closer and gently touches the captains head putting her hands on his temples.
She looks him straight in the eyes for some time then whispers "You better tell us everything"
Inside the captains mind a now familiar alien voice starts talking "You nearly killed her. Don't ever try that again and pray for her well-being foolish mortal. Part of me is in your head now and if she dies I'll need a new vessel. I have no use for a such a mundane body as yours but be assured if necessary these talks are just the beginning and won't be pleasant going forward. My voice won't go away until you've found me a new suitable body and I can dispose of your filthy form."
Guess Violet will try her luck at Intimation now: 21
"Please don't do that! I have a wife! I'll tell you, I'll tell you!" Captain whines. He seems genuinely frightened. "Look, there's a path through the forest right to the port of Nyit. The city is hard to get to at the moment, they're only letting merchants in, but if you go through the forest you will end up in one of the smaller side gates. The guards at them are... our guys, they will let you in. Just show them this."
He produced a small scrap of parchment from his pocket with a crude depiction of... well, it was either genitals or the hairy eye.
"They will get you in, if the port is where you're headed." He turns to Violet and throws a pouch on the ground. "I have money! It isn't much, but that's all! Take it!"
The pouch contains 40 GP. If anyone decides to pick it up, kindly add 40 GP to your inventory.
As the others begin to leave, I remove two of my daggers and plunge them into the back of the captain, trying to finish him off. Then I will head off behind the others.
The following will have happened before Erlan takes his action as he waits for us to leave.
Violetvisibly relaxes as the situation de-escalates. She will pick up two downtrotten dandelions. As she touches them and whispers softly they begin to bloom again. She picks them up and hands one of them to the captain keeping one for herself. Speaking aloud
"I'm sorry for your comrades and that it had to come to this. We nearly died today. Keep this as a reminder for the fleetingness of life and the second chance you were given. Make the best out of your new life and fare ye well."
The company followed the path the Captain told them about, leaving site of fire behind them. If the rest of the company already found out what happened, they did not follow, at least so far.
The road was unapparent, to say the least. Not a road, even, more of a foot-path. Everyone realized the danger has not yet passed and they needed to get as far away as humanly possible. Still tired and wounded from the battle, the company only stopped for a rest when sun was starting to rise. The Captain did not lie, the forest was ending rather quickly. They were still in Witchwood, but the trees became more and more scarce with every mile until they abruptly ended.
The port Nyit could be seen in the distance, but it was a days walk from them still. From what they were told, they'd be better off entering the city in the night anyway, so the company decided a rest was due.
This is one of the social, get to know each other better, argue and decide-what-to-do-next moments. I will need some time to plan the city, create a marketplace and shops, some NPCs. A time I don't have at the moment, but will later today. Possibly tomorrow morning, but I think I'll be done sooner.
"You should have LISTENED" the voice inside the captains head softly continues.
Violet gets closer and just out of melee reach puffs a spray of metallic dust into the captains lungs.

Once again a swirl of wind takes Violet out of melee range, bleeding profoundly she tries to escape the captain.
