Aaaarrrrggghh! Welp, got it narrowed down to three possible characters. They're below in order of preference if anyone would like to offer suggestions.
Zeltron Spy - Undercover cop turned rebel spy, she uses the skills and underworld contacts she picked up on the job to support the rebellion. A criminal among cops, a cop among criminals, and a rebel in Imperial space; she's playing a deadly game and loving every minute of it.
Pacifist Protocol Droid - PA-X (PeeAay-Ten, or just Pax) is an Ithorian Protocol Droid who was traded by his herd ship to pay for repair parts after there was some irreparable damage. Since then he's changed hands between a few owners before finally ending up in the possession of [other PC]. Additional programming will be in botany (because Ithorians) and Medicine (because he needs a useful skill).
Chiss Warrior - Honestly don't have much on this one yet. Some kind of martial type who joined the Rebellion. This is mostly just because Chiss does the most to minimize my bad rolls and every group need at least one tank.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I'd love to play in this game. I'm a huge Star Wars nerd and am particularly a fan of the dawn of defiance age. It's a hot take, but I though Andor was one of the better SW TV programs.
I've played pretty much every version of SWRP out there. The 5E version is of particular interest, so I'd love the chance to give it a go. I have over 30 years of gaming experience and have done a lot of PBP over the last decade and a half.
My concept is a shattered Wookiee slicer.
Name: Tarroch
Race: Wookiee
Class: I think he'd be an Operative - I'll have to dig into that a little more.
Appearance: Tarroch is a towering Wookiee, standing nearly seven feet tall. His fur, once a deep chestnut brown, is marred by patches of mechanical plating across his face, and a cybernetic arm has replaced his right limb. The mechanized additions serve as constant reminders of the traumatic events he endured. Tarroch's normally expressive blue eyes have dulled with a haunted look, reflecting the pain and loss he's experienced.
Personality: Tarroch is a malcontent and a loner, carrying the weight of a traumatic past. He harbors a deep-seated anger against the Empire, and he wants nothing more than to see it toppled. His experiences have left him emotionally scarred, resulting in a tendency to isolate himself from others. Tarroch is a skilled slicer, using his technological expertise as a form of rebellion against the Empire. He's resourceful and intelligent, capable of infiltrating systems, disabling security, and uncovering valuable information.
Backstory: Tarroch's life was shattered when the Empire descended upon his home planet, Kashyyyk. In a violent raid, they killed his family, including his beloved wife and child, right in front of him. He was captured and subjected to brutal experiments and interrogations, leading to the loss of his arm and disfigurement of his face.
Despite the physical and emotional scars, Tarroch managed to escape from captivity with the help of other prisoners, but he was the sole survivor. He roamed the galaxy, seeking solace in solitude and honing his skills as a slicer. His obsession with unraveling the Empire's secrets, crippling its systems, and revealing its darkest deeds became a singular purpose in his life.
Now, Tarroch has become a haunted and broken Wookiee, harboring an unquenchable desire for revenge against the Empire. His cybernetic arm and partially mechanized face serve as reminders of the torment he endured. As he joins the fight against the Empire in the Dawn of Defiance campaign, he's ready to channel his pain and skills into the rebellion, driven by an unwavering determination to see the Empire's reign come to a fiery end.
Description: The stark white hair, silver eyes, and porcelain skin suggest that he is a near-human species. Dark bags under his haunted eyes and a too big, battered combat suit suggest a war refugee. He wears a chakram on his belt for protection and shoulders a pack with all his possessions and a small, transparent shield strapped to it.
Personality: Celsior is hunted. He barely escaped Order 66 and has been on the run ever since. While he has not completely digested the trauma, he has forced it into a box in his heart. He is a pale shadow of the exuberant child who celebrated his recruitment into the Jedi Order.
Backstory: Celsior was recruited into the Jedi Order from the Echani academy at an early age. He had already been indoctrinated into the Echani martial culture that would be the foundation on which the Jedi would build. His Jedi training was nothing extraordinary until the Clone Wars broke out. Training Jedi became less of a priority, so class sizes became bigger, and some teachers did not return having died in battle. His class had a couple of near misses but largely kept safe. A year ago, he finally graduated becoming a Padawan. His master was Arrol Din a Duros Jedi knight. They were on their first mission together when Order 66 was executed. Arrol sacrificed his life to keep Celsior safe and secret. Celsior has been on the run ever since.
Appearance: [-Their Skin is a rusted silver, a large black X on their back that protrudes onto their shoulders and thighs. their Left and Right forearm and Hand itself seem to be replaced with a Combat droids arms.-]
Personality: [-PA-X's personality was originally programmed to be a stern and straight forward medicine droid, but during one of his owners drunken fits, he had gained an advanced AI chip within them. Soon after gaining this he had gained his own personality; A calm and caring droid who at times can act like a nagging mother. They sadly cannot deter the difference between literal and non-literal meaning.-]
Backstory: [-MEMORY DISK RESTORED PLAYING AUDIO (Brief summary of PA-X's life so far. PA-X was created on Ithor by Ithorian Herders. He was created to heal their wounds and create crops for food and sustenance. Sadly however, while trading and growing crops, or attempting too, on Ilum. The Ithorians ship was damaged to irreparable standards and they needed a new ship. The rest is quite fuzzy for the droid but they do remember going with different owners over and over until landing in |-PC'S NAME-| finally.-]

I'm rusty on SW lore, is there a Rebellion yet? Or any other group like it?
Same here, but I gather it's going to be more in the phase of separate rebellions before they came together into one cohesive alliance.
Dawn of defiance is the period before the rebellion forms. It is the origin of the rebellion. If you’ve seen Andor, that’s in the Dawn of defiance age. As is kenobi. I’d say the first season or two of Rebels is the tale end of this era.

playing Jin Wei, human (Kara-tur) way of the Four Elements Monk in the Princes of the Apocalypse
The Dawn of Defiance campaign opens shortly after the fall of the the Republic and rise of the Empire (the ending of Revenge of the Sith), with the Clone Wars a very recent and vivid memory for most beings in the galaxy. The new Empire has begun tightening its grip on star systems throughout the galaxy, and Darth Vader stands at the newly declared Emperor's right hand, crushing any opposition and hunting down the last remnants of The Jedi Order. In these short months since the fall of the Republic, many have joined the Empire willingly, including The Core World Nobles who stand to benefit a great deal from its tyranny. Conversely, many others have begun rebelling (almost always ineffectually) against Imperial oppression upon finding themselves driven out of their homes (or worse) and being forced to live in a galaxy that tolerates no opposition to the Empire. Throughout the Dawn of Defiance campaign, the heroes must deal with the reality that the Empire is a monolithic threat without any kind of organized opposition of notable size.
The story of the Dawn of Defiance campaign opens over the Core World of Brentaal, on a little space station called Sel Zonn Station. Brentaal is notable for one thing: it is where the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route, two of the galaxy's major Hyperlanes, meet. Brentaal's population is largely devoted to servicing (or exploiting) the many travelers that pass through it, and has little of interest besides service and trade. Your character is, like the majority of people on Brentaal, most likely a transient. Do not expect to stay long, as you will leave the system forever not too far into the first module.
The year the campaign starts in will eventually be known as 18 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin), though your character will know it as Year 982 under the Ruusan Reformation or Year 18 under the Great ReSynchronization.
