Dravos nods, "It would not be the easiest of tasks to steal something from their pocket. I suspect that they will be keeping a close eye on this watch of theirs."
Then he turns to Dirlagraun, "Perhaps, if you could create a distraction or something?"

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
"I do walk with Mister Witch from his caravan to the big top for the crowing of the Witchlight Monarch, and back again after. I can try cause a distraction if you will be able to have someone in the staff area. You will probably need something to break the chain quickly and quietly to achieve it though. Just let me know what you would like and I will give it a go. I do have one request though. If your discoveries help you find what happened to my cub Star, please try bring them back to me, or at least let me know what has happened."
Thieves tools would contain a way to break the chain. And a dagger will work too but might be a bit less subtle. There will likely be other options too so feel free to make suggestions.
Moneo nods and looks at the others, “Any of you got quick hands? I’ve also been better with my words really… Distractions are one thing, but we’ve got to make the most of it. Maybe Barr could ‘fall’ into them and try to snap the chain? He’s quite strong. If he could then hand it off to me I might be able get it under my coat. Though really… once we’ve got it the whole point is it use it for ransom for information yeah? Maybe we don’t need to be so subtle. Distract them to get close enough, grab it and play 'keep away’ like kids do.”
Barreknar searches his pack and pockets. Finds nothing more then what the others mentioned. "Uhh, well perhaps the voice stealer has something to assist us? Maybe we could get some of that small fairy dust to help get in and out undetected." He walks over picks up his morning star back up.
"You said Burley suggested this. If that is the case, I am sure he will let you into the staff area to be waiting. Other than Thaco who stays to watch their caravan, all other staff will be at the show."
"The Kenku is a good idea. He should be around."Moneo says, adding, "Let's go check in with the mermaid too. All the help we can get will be needed here I think."
Dravos shakes his head, "Alas, I do not have the tools of a thief. If you are not interested in one of my daggers, then the best I could do would be to blast it with one of my chains."

"Uhhh let's see if the mermaid can provide any help and see if we need to find that bird fella. Thank you Dirlagraun for watching my star. Uhhh we will make a point to see if we can find the cub in our journey."
You all head back to find the mermaid. She has not returned to her lake, but a short trip up the river finds her upset and out of the way. She seemed to do a good job of hiding it at the big top extravaganza but she is definitely still upset.
Dravos looks at the mermaid, and whispers to the others, "Do we know why she is crying? With all this business of attempting to steal that pocket watch, I'm losing track of what we know."

Moneo walks up towards the mermaid and says, "Palasha right? We met Candlefoot, nice guy you got there,"with a slight reassuring smile, "Sorry about the crowd a bit ago. Some people are just ********. Try not to let it get to you. Anyway, your bugbear and disappearing tiger friend sent us to you to see we if we could help in any way."
"I wish you could help me but I am not sure if it is possible. I would love it if Candlefoot could talk again. Ever since he lost his voice, I am finding it harder to use mine. Not physically mind you, just emotionally. I feel like if he can't talk, then I shouldn't either. You know how it is, show him that I love him and accept him no matter what. Only problem is, I have no idea if it is possible to restore a voice especially as I didn't know it was possible to take one." Based on where you have walked to along the river, you are right behind the hall of illusions so Candlefoot is about 1 minute away from you.
"We actually ran into the thief,"Moneo says somberly, "He's a bit of an ass, but agreed to give the voice back if we could get some information from the Misters, which is what we're working on now. Should we go grab Candlefoot while we're here?" Assuming a slightly positive, or at least not negative, response, Moneo will dash over, gesture for the mime to follow, and once back together explain that they need their help distracting the Misters since something strange is going on, and they need answers. "Oh, and one more thing... do either of you have any thieve's tools by chance?"
After asking his questions Moneo suddenly remembers something in his pocket. Pulling out a small doll, that looks remarkably like the mime, he says, "Actually... the culprit isn't as bad as you think. I hope you can forgive him. As I said, if we help him he agreed to give your voice back, but he actually gave us a bit of trust once we agreed."He then pulls a small cord on the doll and pauses a second to see how the mime responds. Moneo then says, "We can find him over at the teacups. And with this much help we should be able to get some answers from the Misters..."
Candlefoot suddenty shouts "It's back! I can talk!!!!!! I can finally do this."and he gets on one knee and pulls out a ring"Palasha, will you marry me?" "Of course. I hope you know you didn't actually need a voice to propose, I loved you all the same without it." they turn back to Moneo"Unfortunately neither of us have any thieves tools. But as thanks I would love to give a quick acting lesson." "And I will equally be happy to give a quick singing lesson"
You may each pick none, one or both of the lessons to receive. Doing both will take us up to Time 6 which will be 2 whole hours before the start of the Witchlight Monarch ceremony.
Moneo perks up, but quickly looks at the time before answering. "I prefer to listen to the beautiful voices while I speak on stage. Acting would be useful in conveying my messages I think, and we have little time."He then looks to the others and says, "After this we should go find the kenku at the tea cups. Then we can all plan to meet just after the ceremony to get the watch."
"Uhhh, I don't think you're supposed to talk as a mime. 2 seconds after you get yours back, well, a talking mime is a hard act."
Hearing the offer of teachings Barreknar thinks for a sec, he really wasn't much of a actor or a singer, so he could benefit from either training but he wasn't really interested that much in either at the same time.
"I guess I could learn to sing a bit better."

"Hmm," Dravos thinks. "Something to break the chain quickly. I have a couple of daggers, but I don't think they would work."

“Who do you think would steal a voice out of someone?” Revelry wonders.
“Somekind of magic thief perhaps but in this carnival that can be anyone.”
