Yasmina commits the information found on genies to memory but is quickly running out of patience for this boring bookish place, asking every so often if it isn't time to have a glass of wine at that tavern now. She does understand the importance of the information found but she figures it will be easier simply asking that Lich about what to do even if it means doing it some service in return.
Delvindra, facing the double disappointment of finding the temple is basically just a library AND that it's another dead end in her quest, is more than happy to head to the tavern.
After scouring the temple's collection for a few hours, and being politely but firmly told by the Clerics to please put the ancient tomes back, you make your way towards the tavern.
It is nearly nightfall as you arrive at the tavern. Like most everything else in this place, the building is nothing particularly fancy, but it serves its purpose. From inside you can hear a slow tune playing on some kind of stringed instrument (likely a lyre). Opening the door, you see several people drinking. They mostly seem a bit suspicious when they see a group of newcomers.
Well, except for one... sitting at the bar is a half-orc woman who smiles at you good-naturedly when she notices you enter into the room. She is extremely slender for an individual of orcish descent, with long black hair tied in a ponytail.
"Greetings, strangers!" she says. "I heard that some strangers were in town. What might have brought you folks all the way out here?"
"We came to seek an audience with Lord Akkron. A cleric at the Temple of Ilmater suggested that he might be able to help with some questions of an arcane nature."
"I don't suppose you're Bridgette by any chance? I was told she might be here."
The half-orc's smile gets even wider when Didi states that a cleric from the Temple of Ilmater sent them.
"Yes, that's me,"she says with a twinkle in her eye. "You must be talking about Sister Eila! How is she? I hope she didn't say anything too crazy about me..."
She pauses as something else occurs to her.
"...but wait, she told you to see my Master about some arcane stuff? It must be pretty important to send you all the way out here! Come on over... now you've got me curious what's going on. Drinks are on me!"
The Ilmateri smiles at the memory of the lowly cleric speaking up to the High Priest. It had seemed so shocking at the time. Now she found herself taking a warm comfort in the audacity.
"She wanted me to deliver a message. She said that you are one of the most loving and compassionate people she ever met. That you risked your life many times over to protect the innocent."
"She asked me to tell you that, when she needed it the most, when she had become jaded with her duties and watching the passing of those who could not be saved, YOU gave her hope."
"Thank you, Bridgette, honey!" Duwamilly smiles friendly at the kind half-orc "Pleasure to meet you! I'm Duwamilly 'Planerunner' of clan Gerinell!" she then looks for a stool high enough to allow her to be approximately at the same level as the other once seated at the table, she brings it into position and climbs onto it, helping herself with the long and (in this case) convenient Wyvern's Staff.
In the time it took the ex-Preceptor to sit down, the tiefling monk has already spoken and is carrying on a pleasant conversation, so she is content to relax and let her gaze run over the room, those present and Bridgette, curious to everything - obviously, however, multitasking as every gnome is during a conversation, she simultaneously pays great attention to what is being said at the table.
"Would you have some tea, by any chance?" the gnome cleric tries to ask those who come to take their orders "Lapacho would be perfect... But Rooibos is also excellent, if you have it..." faced with the perplexed look, she tries "Maybe a Sencha green tea?" the other's wide eyes demonstrate how clueless he is about the best types of tea, so she sighs "Oh, ok, it doesn't matter kid; if you just have something that you usually call 'tea' here, just bring it to me, okay? With a bit of honey and a drop of milk, if possible".
Bridgette's gray-green cheeks turn red at the string of compliments.
"I had no idea I made THAT good an impression," she giggles. "Anyway, good to hear she's doing well. Still... you haven't told me yet what arcane questions could be so important that you would come to our haunted rock to seek an audience with my Master... the last time someone came begging for his aid it was to stop some dark god from returning to enslave the world."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Bridgette pauses... as does the bartender who is pouring Milly's tea.
"Curses too powerful for the Ilmitari to break?" she says uneasily. "That is... concerning. I'm sure my Master has the power to do what you want, but the fact that such curses even exist is troubling... I wonder if this has anything to do with his expedition last year..."
She shakes her head quickly, as if trying to banish some unpleasant thought by force.

"Oh, in fact, Bridgette, honey," Duwamilly feels compelled to point out "the kids here are really worried by their curses - with reason, mind me - that's why they spoke of the curses first. But we bring also news that will prove interesting for Lord Matic Akkron".
"You know, dear," the ex-Preceptor sighs "while coming here we found out that our curses, both the kids' and mine, are bound to powerful magic items. These items are probably related to a very powerful she-dragon and to the bonds that keep her from roaming free, causing havoc and, maybe, ascend to godhood. Someone wants to unleash this dragon - and hunts us to get our cursed items and use them to that end".
"I don't think that anybody else wants a god-like powerful evil dragon rampaging..." the gnome cleric concludes "Your patron even less than most others, Bridgette, honey, for Lord Matic Akkron was one of the heroes that imprisoned this dragon - probably saving the world. He would surely not be pleased at the idea of that creature being set free; so, you see, we'll probably help each other, we by notifying him of this threat - and maybe even helping him in preventing this, if possible - and he by helping us getting rid of our curses".
Delvindra can't even begin to hide her wince as the others begin to unload all of their baggage in the village gathering place. "A secret among Gnomes"...the figure of speech for common knowledge rises in her mind and for the first time she thinks there may be some truth to it...
"Don't be like that," she chides herself mentally, "Cal spoke up first."
"perhaps this might not be the time or place..." Delvindra whispers as she glances furtively at the suspicious faces of the other patrons.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yasmina would gladly come along with the others to the tavern, having no interest in reading any more old dusty tomes anyway. She gladly accepts the slender Half-Orc's offer of drinks, ordering wine for herself as the others start to converse the woman, giving the Tiefling a curious glance as she mentions sister Eila. She also listens with some interest to the history lecture from the ex-preceptor, realizing the gnome had really done her homework on this Lich, perhaps that would even impress it. As Milly keeps talking, the red-haired Half-Elf instead discreetly scans the tavern for those who would seem interested in the conversation.
Scanning the room, Yasmina realizes that the group immediately got the nearly undivided attention of every patron in the tavern as soon as it came out that you all are seeking an audience with Lord Akkron himself.... they seem more curious than hostile.
"Okay... it does sound like things are pretty bad when you put it like that..." Bridgette says uneasily. "And my Master definitely will want to know what's going on... if he hasn't found out already, which he might have, seeing how good at magic stuff he is... I really hope that he has a way to fix this mess. I know he's great and powerful... but it sounds like whoever's after you must be a pretty tough customer as well if they think they can unleash dragon gods on the world."

Yasmina shrugs to herself and sighs at the attention the team apparently already had. It was unlikely at least that Firion had managed to place a spy this close to the Lich, and even if he had, he already knew all that had been said. "So will you be able to get us an audience with Lord Akkron then?" She asks the slender Half-Orc woman, taking a sip of her wine, also trying to order something to eat, and a room for the night.

(Note: the clerics of Boccob probably won't let you take priceless arcane tomes with you when you're ready to move on).
So, do you all want to go to the tavern and meet Bridgette now, or is there anything you still want to do at the temple?

Cal is happy to go to the tavern since he is not much of a bookworm.

"Yes, she seemed well."

"And for that," the Tiefling says, gesturing to her companions, "I suppose we all owe you a debt of gratitude as well."
"Thank you, Bridgette, honey!" Duwamilly smiles friendly at the kind half-orc "Pleasure to meet you!
