Captain Fox to Yasmina and Duwamilly:
"Rupert has been with the crew for almost a year, but I've never known him to act the way you've described. That is extremely concerning... would you like me to try to talk to him?"
If Yasmina would like to continue following the man discreetly:
The main thing that sticks out is that the man doesn't really seem to know much about sailing, especially for someone who has been doing the job for nearly a year.
When you get the chance to go through his trunk, you find that it's just full of cloths... though not just the type of functional working cloths you would expect a sailor to have. There are several different outfits in the chest, ranging from fine garments to beggar's rags, and you notice that several of the outfits are in vastly different sizes.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Yasmina's dance was spectacular. Many sailors stopped what they were doing to watch. Several of the sailors gave her a bit of silver for lightening their spirits. Yasmina, go ahead and add 21 silver to your inventory.

Cal will practice his new learned forms to try to focus on what he can control. Then he will practice his moves with the different forms of the Rod. He will not notice anything abnormal from the crew.
The red-haired Half-Elf accepts the silver with a graceful bow to her audience. She was quite used to men paying to watch her with appreciation after all.
After investigating the suspicious sailor, Yasmina would discreetly inform the others in the team that she believes that Rupert is a shapechanger. The fact that he has been with the crew for a year makes it less likely he is an agent for Firion though but he could still certainly be a threat. She suggests investigating him further, perhaps by simply confronting the man, but wants to hear what the others say first.
"Very well done, Yasmina, honey!" Duwamilly compliments the discoveries of the southern half-elf "Yes, he's probably a threat... And probably" she sighs "he must have mercilessly got rid of the poor real Rupert. But I'd like to try to get him to confide in us, so that we know for sure - and also find out why he infiltrated. I want to try to make him friends with magic, like I did with the leader of the brigands, when we saved Charlie. I will act from distance, while he does not look at me, and if I fail, he shouldn't notice anything... so I should be able to try again a few more times. Unless he's immune to this kind of influence, sooner or later he should fall under the spell and..." she winks "why shouldn't he ever confide in the gnome friend he hasn't seen for a long time?"
"Maybe, in the meantime, you kids, especially Cal," the gnome cleric advises "stay around... so that if something goes wrong and the fake Rupert attacks me, you can intervene".
After that, if no one objects, the ex-Preceptor does as she explained... from a distance, when Rupert isn't looking, she casts Charm Person[[ OOC: DC 13 Wisdom Saving Throw ]] and try to get closer to make him confide. If he reacts as usual and scurries away, she tries again after some time. [[Duwamilly has 3 spell slots that she can use this way...]]

[[ OOC: I, as a player, congratulate him on his incredible luck. He had less than 1% chance of rolling 17+ three times in a row like he did! Duwamilly tries three times, but always without success. She confesses to her companions: "No way, kids. Maybe he is immune to this kind of mental influence. At this point, do we want to confront him directly all together and openly ask him for explanations on what we have discovered about him?"
The man quickly realizes that the gnome has been following him and trying to do... something. After the third failed attempt he glares at her before disappearing below deck.

Since the man seems to have discovered her, if the kids accept her proposal to confront him openly, Duwamilly, in going below deck will send an illusory duplicate of herself in front of her (Channel Divinity: Invoke Duplicity), while she will remain further behind, so that the man sees the illusory duplicate first, if he intends to set a trap... and hopefully then he attacks that one.

"Thanks Milly, but I still would prefer if you didn't call me honey all the time." Yasmina says with a small sigh but then a friendly smile. "It's not that I don't appreciate your efforts to keep everyone happy Milly, it's just not for me. You go ahead and use that magic though, if not succesful we'll find other ways, it's not like he is leaving the ship anytime soon."
Yasmina would have tried to distract the suspicious sailor but is too late it seems as the Rupert impostor glares at Milly and disappears below deck. "Wait, let me go first..." She says to the ex-preceptor. "Maybe I can find something out, if he tries to contact Firion or something. I appreciate if you follow close behind of course." She says to the others with a wink and a smile.
The redhead then again pulls up the hood of her red cloak and disappears down the hatch after the mysterious sailor.

Realizing Rupert is indeed most likely an agent of Firion, Yasmina immmediately summons Lord Amir to deal with him. "Stop him, but we need him alive."She calls out quickly to the djinni who nods and quickly uses the butt of his scimitar to swiftly take the shapeshifter out while the Half-Elf keeps back hiding.
At the first sounds of a scuffle (assuming she's close enough to hear), Delvindra races from Duwamilly's side to aid Yasmina, removing the Ring of Mind Shielding as she does so...
If Duwamilly comes in time to spot Amir attacking the man, she sends her illusory duplicate ahead, to distract the enemy.
Then, if the enemy is still standing, Planerunner comes close and tries to send him to an extraplanar holiday.
Else, if the enemy is out cold already, the ex-Preceptor asks (since she is not aware of the conversation that was taking place): "Oh, did you think it better to knock him our and tieing him up before talking, Yasmina, kid? Good idea, I guess..." and she binds him with a rope.
(OOC: The man is not out cold... I assume Yasmina went ahead a bit which is why I didn't require everyone to make a Stealth check. Only Yasmina is getting a surprise round before the rest of you show up and I roll initiative)
