Seeing their dire wolf ally attack the skeletal snake, the orc brutes charge forward to help. They call out their clan's battle cry and both make reckless attacks with their greataxes against the snake.
Korba worries that Hewelathan and the orcs will be attacked from behind by the other snake creature. He says, "Hildegard, help me keep this thing away from the others." He moves gracefully forward toward the metal snake construct, his moonblade held two-handed. He calls on his patron to curse this thing for him.
Movement: Up to 30 ft. to close to melee with the snake construct around the chest Action: Attack, Moonblade: 15, Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. (magical slashing) Bonus Action: Place his Hexblade's Curse on the snake construct. The target is cursed for 1 minute. Until the curse ends, Korba has the following benefits: He gets a +2 bonus to damage rolls against the target. If the target dies while it is cursed, Korba regains +7 HP. Free Action: Talking
Jodie weighs her targets and sees Korba may have a greater need for support. Jodie sees the drow's moonblade against the metal snake and thinks the magic in her blade might penetrate. She counts her four magic arrows and thinks hopefully three will be enough. Jodie shouts to the Orog "Join your brothers. We'll handle the metal snake."
The bard advances towards the metal snake but does not yet engage in melee. She is hopeful Korba's mail is tougher than the snake's fangs. "I will aid in the magic of my arrow..."
Longbow: 9
Or not, at least the arrow can be recovered!
The Orog lets out a war cry as it joins the brutes. If the first blow takes down the undead snake, his aggressive talent should enable him to move and attack the metal snake.
The snakes both take the full damage from Temphalic's breath weapon. And... that poor skeletal snake just got its skull crushed by the Orog's second strike. But the iron snake is up... Temphalic may notice that, even though his breath hit the snake solidly, it didn't seem to do as much damage as he would have expected.
The iron snake's head darts towards Korba, and it tries to sink metal fangs into the half-Drow's throat!
Bite vs. Korba: Attack: 24 Damage: 6
On a hit, Korba will need to make a DC 13 Con save.
Looks like a hit... time to find out what happens if Korba fails that Con save: 4
1–2: Confusion. On its next turn, the target must use its action to make one weapon attack against a random creature it can see within 30 feet of it, using whatever weapon it has in hand and moving beforehand if necessary to get in range. If it’s holding no weapon, it makes an unarmed strike. If no creature is visible within 30 feet, it takes the Dash action, moving toward the nearest creature.
3–4 Paralysis. The target is paralyzed until the end of its next turn.
5–6: Poison. The target takes 13 (3d8) poison damage.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Looks like a hit....what happens if Korba fails that Con save....The target is paralyzed until the end of its next turn.
(OOC: Yes. I took an 80/20 gamble and let Korba make himself a target for the metal snake this round. I figured that he could use his last spell slot on shield if the attack roll was between 17 and 21.)
Looks like a hit....what happens if Korba fails that Con save....The target is paralyzed until the end of its next turn.
Korba CON saving throw: 20
Korba: round 1 (results)
With only one opponent to focus on, the metal snake bites through Korba's armor. Perhaps the construct has sat too long in the dry crypt, and its poison reservoir has become somewhat stale. Or perhaps Korba built up some resistance to the types of poisons used by the Drow during his years spent among them in the Underdark. In any case, Korba gets a bloody wound from the metal snake, but he is not affected by its poison.
With only one snake remaining Tamphalic feels he should be fine with going for his weaker spells, but as Lightning didn't do much he uses a fire bolt this time:
gamelog: 16 to hit and 4 damage.
