Korba is looking forward to picking off cultists who are stuck in Tamphalic's web when the cavern lights up with Gorash's fireball. He curses under his breath when he sees that the fire burned away the webbing.
If Korba can close to melee distance with any of the cultists, he'll rush forward to attack with his Moonblade. He prefers to target the cult leader, but if he cannot reach the cult leader, he'll target the nearest cultist. If he cannot make it into melee range, let me know. In that case, he'll be using Eldritch Blast this round instead.
Movement: Up to 30 ft to close to melee range with the cult leader or one of the cultists Action: Moonblade: 20, Damage: 18 (magical slashing)
Their ambush didn't work as well as Hewelathan had hoped, but now that the battle is joined, he knows that they need to finish off these cultists before the others join in the fight. Since the cultists haven't tried to rush the party yet, Hewelathan leaps out from his hiding spot, leaving Gorash behind. The cult leader cast some horrible spell on Nickeline. She survived it, but the leader is clearly the most dangerous. Hewelathan wild shapes into a large bear (still wearing his cloak, belt, and pouch) and rushes to Korba's side to fight the cult leader.
Bonus Action: Wild Shape into a Brown Bear. Movement: 40 ft. of movement to enter melee with the cult leader Action: Multiattack against the cult leader (one bite and one with claws) Bite: 12 Damage: 16 (piercing) Claws: 16 Damage: 17 (slashing)
Attack 1 hits on the second roll, but you don't need to spend the luck point because, as I just pointed out, you were hidden at the start of the round.
Attack 1 hits on the second roll, but you don't need to spend the luck point because, as I just pointed out, you were hidden at the start of the round.
(OOC: Ah. Good point. In that case, can I use the Luck Point for the second attack? RAW, I'm supposed to do that before I know the result of the attack, but I was inclined to spend a luck point here on any attack roll that was < 10 to try to ensure that we take down the leader this round. I don't want to find out what other 4th level spells he knows!)
Alright, using the luck point Hew-bear manages to land two hits on the cultist leader. Looks like Ruby is up! Remember, she's currently hidden and her first attack has advantage!

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Jodie channels her focus, draws and nocks an arrow and lets it fly at the cult leader. The arrow seems to flash with a brilliant light at it strikes true.
Longbow: 21, 11 radiant
Jodie offers encouragement (bardic inspiration) to Nickeline, knowing once again the cleric will attract much of the ire of the dark clerics. "Hold on Nick, we'd got your back!"
Ruby's first blast of magic glances off the cultist leader's armor. But her second beam hits the badly injured cultist squarely in the forehead, killing him instantly (OOC: has anyone else noticed that Ruby is racking up a pretty substantial body count...?)
Meanwhile, Jodie's radiant arrow flies true. It strikes the cultist leader in the neck, finishing him off.

A dark shape seems to peel off the cavern wall and follow Korba into battle like a second shadow. Unseen at first, it heads for the remaining cultist and tries to wrap its arms around them.
Movement: Move up to 40 ft. into melee with the remaining cultist. Action: Strength Drain Attack: 7, Damage: 11 (necrotic). The target's STR score is also reduced by 4, falling unconscious if this reduces its Strength to 0. Attacking with advantage because it was hidden at the start of the round.
One cultist remains, and it's the TOP OF ROUND 2!!!
You can hear the other three rushing towards you... and it sounds like Zolgu is chanting spells as he moves towards the action (likely some kind of buff spells to make sure he's at his absolute peak when fighting you... word of OOC advice: this kobold might just be the most dangerous enemy you've faced so far, more because he's cunning than due to raw stats. He was also apparently clever enough to orchestrate the murders of three dragons, probably claiming several potent magic items from their hordes in the process...)
Tamphalic sees the final cultist left and decides Zolgu is a much bigger thread. He therefore prepares a casting of maximillians eaethen grasp to get Zolgu as soon as he is in sight.

Nickeline feels the cultist's spell take root in her body. An horrible, dull tightness spreads from her core to her extremities as she quickly feels like she hadn't had anything to eat or drink for days. Her steel helm bobs as she nods to Jodie in thanks for her concern and her shining arrow of vengeance. With Nickeline's throat dried up, she can barely speak aloud the incantations of her spells.

Somehow, both attacks miss... that said, your first attack should have had advantage because your were hidden at the start of the round.

(OOC: A 7 even with advantage?! 😣)
Since the elf shadow is hard to see, it is apparently jostled by Hewelathan-bear and Perdita and can only flail uselessly as it misses the cultist.
