Holg, not feeling the best. Offers to stay behind while the others went to visit Kelbin. "I am not feeling so well what if you all went to seek out Kelbin. I shall wait here for Wendall should he return."
"I suppose that could work," Dathyra said. "Are you sure you didn't want something for your illness? Perhaps if I could find a little ginger root, I could make you a tea that helps settle the stomach. It's always helped me."

For brevity and because Holg is busy with some very exciting events right now, I'm going to move the story along to Kelbin's here.
Holgnods to Dathyra and makes a gesture with his hand to visually say Why not? Thinking to check the bar first out of convenience and practicality, Dathyra inquires about ginger root with Hugo. The big man confirms that he does indeed have some ginger root, and better yet, he's got a concoction that fits Holg's condition. "I've got plenty here - had more than a few drink too much the night before and need something to settle them down the morning after, so I keep it around. I'll send some right over." Now that Holg was attended to, Dathyra, Jodon and Mijira set out across the city heading back to the Blacklake district.
Is there anything anyone wants to do along the way? Your route would take you near the market if anyone needed to look for anything along the way.
Jodon does not have anything specific to buy at the market, but, assuming that the market is where Wendel went, and not the Blacklake district, he might insist on at checking the stalls there for any sign of him on the way through, at least.
Walking along the main stretches of the city bring the trio near the bustling market. Shouts from vendors ring out louder and louder the closer they get to the large square. A small sea of tents are set up within the barrier of buildings that form a massive, loose rectangular shape. Dominating the center side of the longest run of buildings is a larger, well kept building that serves as the market's business directive. Most of the buildings that make up the boundary have tents attached to the market side, adding a place for advertising their wares outside of their shops proper. A myriad of tents form long rows in many different directions around a central pond. One could easily spend all day shopping here and not see everything.
Jodon looks back and forth between his two companions. "We need to see Kelbin, but Wendel could be here. Do we stay and look, or trust he will find Holg and go on?"
Dathyra's ears had started to pin down slightly, feeling just a bit overwhelmed with all the sound. It was nothing like the still quiet at the temple. "A quick glance around can't hurt, but this is a big place. If he is here, it would be incredibly difficult to find him in all these people."

And he does not disappoint! Must be all that halfling luck. I had intended this to be later, but rolls like that deserve some notice.
The market is crowded to be sure, but weaving through the central tents near the pond proves to be more nuisance than productive. Multiple guards dot the area here and there to keep would be buyers honest. Shouts pour out from all different directions from vendors trying to sell this or that - most of it some kind of food. Taking the widest path around the market seemed the most sensible option to the three companions since this was supposed to be a quick look anyhow. Out in front of a curious shop the party, all in unison, spot Wendel standing easily with some other men. He doesn't look like he is in trouble, but there is an uneasy look on his face. The men near him are laughing and talking normally as if they didn't have a care in the world. The tent in front of the shop is a brilliant orange color, that flaps lazily against the chilly wind. In orange letters on a black background the words Pete's Pavilion of Plenty.
Wendel casually looks around occasionally, appearing bored. On one such occasion, he makes eye contact with Jodon, giving him an intense look and a quick shake of his head. The man eases a hand into his coat pocket and pulls out a folded bit of parchment. A few seconds go by and the men around him bursts into laughter. Wendel joins in, letting the parchment fall to the ground. Caught in the wind, it lazily tumbles down the market street a bit before a man steps on it walking by.
In case they missed the shake, Jodon quicklyMessages to his companions in succession "He does not wish to be found, not here, not now. He dropped a parchment for us. That man just stepped on it," while moving discreetly in the direction of the trod upon paper, hoping to pick it up.
I have done as you told me and stored the bodies as you've asked. I have acquired much silver and bottles for you, though not knowing why, but you still haven't released my brother. I haven't told anyone about your fortress tunnel that leads out into the forest, even though there are many men down there that could implicate you. I would do anything to save my brother, so please let him go.
Wendel
Dathyra and Mijira:
The men are just going about their business with no indication of anything out of place here until a pale humanoid ducks out of the shop. His face is stern and tattooed with tribal designs that wrap around his bald head. There is an angry look about his face and all of the men around, including Wendel, stiffen up as he emerges. The man had to be every bit of eight feet tall and over 3oo pounds, corded with muscles. A black breastplate is strapped to his chest bearing a red symbol eerily similar to the one found inside the zombie over his left breast. With a gesture to four of the men, including Wendel, he turns heading away from the shop, his greataxe bobbing on his back. The other three men left behind give an audible sigh as the large man lumbers off.
I imagine Jodon would have at least seen the man leaving with the others and the palpable tension from his being there.
Dathyra's stomach sank like a rock when she saw him. That man had to be twice, even three times her own size. He could break her in half, if he so desired. And the fact that he brought a sense of dread to his own companions didn't make anything better. She leaned over and whispered to Mijira, "I have a feeling he is going to be a threat we will have to deal with when we return later. We need to tell Holg about this as soon as we get back." She hoped that his military background could provide some useful advice. What had happened yesterday had really only happened because of pure luck. She and Jodon had absolutely no experience fighting, and they had absolutely no strategy. They may have barely gotten by before, but that wouldn't happen now, not if there were people like this hulking giant.

Jodon made his way back to Dathyra and Majira, pulling his head out of the note long enough to note the passing of a very large individual. Everybody around him seemed a bit...intimidated? Shocked? by his size, but a halfling is used to craning up at people, so he quickly went back to reading. "I think," he said to his companions, "we can continue on, but you two are going to want to read this when we get a safe distance."
