Eyes focused on the injured man, Holg swings back across with his shortsword. Then follows up with his dagger to finish the man off quickly and prepare for whatever lies ahead in the next room.

Determined to stay far from Holg's shortsword the bandit throws himself to the side, staying out of its reach. The blade swipes the air next to him and as he turns to square off against his large opponent, he seems to realize the dagger in his side for the first time. Be it out of pain, or loss of blood, his eyes roll back and he collapses to the floor in a heap. From the next room orders ring out in the common tongue with a gutteral accent, "Collapse the tunnel! Block that door! Cut the wench loose!" Several voices can be heard acknowledging this mysterious leader. 

Holg takes a deep breath and composes himself for the next room. His eyes fixed on Jodon awaiting the next move.

Dathyra was already muttering a quick prayer for the two dead rogues at their feet. She had been taught to fight evil forces, but all life still deserved honor. Lathander gave everyone life, even if everyone didn’t use it wisely. Still, she was quick. After hearing the shouts from the next room, she knew they didn’t have much time.

Jodon nods at the big man, and whispers "gods help me, misdirection may not be enough this time."  He cocks his crossbow, and comes up to the doorway.  If he has a view of any person without going through, he will take a shot with his crossbow.  If not, but he can see the pulley mechanism, he will use Minor Illusion to create the sound of rapid, violent wood and metal fatigue emanating from it.

 Jodon slides over to the door, careful to make a show of the illusioned oil, just in case anyone is watching. With a quick peek around the corner, he identifies three men racing around the room. Two have axes and are swinging wildly at the sturdy rope connecting the lift. A third man with a shortsword is on his way to assist when he notices Jodon. Jodon lets a crossbow bolt fly at the man, but it finds a place in the wall behind the man. He seems intent on the intruder now, which causes Jodon to duck out of sight.

Dathyra saw Jodon move quickly to get out of the way after releasing the bolt. She knew this wasn't a good sign and that they could be facing serious trouble. Whoever was on the other side of that door knew they were in there now. She went to be ready for whoever was about to come after them, and to protect her companions.

Holg takes a deep breath, exhales, and charges toward the main room. Turning and seeing the man across the room, Holg rushes toward him. "Bring it on tough guy, this will be your last night with your head attached to your body."
