"Maybe make good rope," Num suggests about the wires. Then puzzles over her question a little longer. "Maybe someone really like them. Maybe they taste good."
Taking the wires and moving away from the chamber where the spiders were, the party soon emerges in the chicken coop. Birds shuffle and stir as the party comes up out of a hole in the floor under a series of nesting boxes. There are a few unhappy clucks overhead from chickens on roosts, but otherwise there is nothing else that happens.
The coop is big, huge by the standards of the little creatures of the party, and there are at least 25 chickens sleeping high above. Their gentle clucks are all that punctuates the otherwise silent coop. Everything smells of chicken droppings and musty hay, and it's starting to cool off in there, though it's clear that during the day it had been pretty hot in there; residual heat still hangs in the air, though is quickly fading.
Clive will look for a quiet spot away from nesting hens, preferably close to the tunnel entrance, that the party can take a sleep in, and discuss plans for the morning.
Num's nose starts twitching as he tries to suss out which of the chickens might have the nicest eggs. Then he remembers the group is probably spending the night here until the farmer calms down about his barn.
"Oh... no thank you," Jerad says when Num asks if anyone would like an egg. He looks up at the chickens, wondering if there were even any eggs left at this time, since the farmer should have taken the eggs by now.
To Peanut he says, "I suppose so. I need to get Theodore back to his parents... mmmmh... they aren't going to be very pleased with me after all this." His whiskers twitch as he thinks about the younger rats folks. "Hopefully they'll understand the situation, this really was the safest option we could think of..." He blinks, his eyes looking glassy for a moment. "For now... I need rest." He moves to the corner of the coop, where the hay has piled up from chickens scratching here and there towards the center. He starts making a nest... but his weariness gets the better of him and he ends up falling asleep before he finishes.
With the general lack of interest in getting an egg, Num just looks at the chickens deciding which one might have one. He can always get it before the farmer comes in the morning.
"Maybe the farm's not safe any more," Num says. "Fires. Machines. Maybe we should get everyone and look for a new home."
Num spots a clean fresh egg in a box by itself and it proves too much temptation for the large rat. He scurries over and scoops it up and runs back to the group.
"We might get hungry later," Num says as the group appears to be settling down.
He then wonders why this egg is cleaner than the others. Does it appear to be from a different bird or perhaps a different egg laying creature all together? (Survival? Animal Handling? Same modifier on both: (7+2=9))
Theodore is clearly a bit dazed from everything that's happened to the poor sheltered young rat today. He would have gone for an egg, but he's to out of it to respond when Num asks. He shakes himself back to the present when Jared starts speaking. He does hope his parents understand. This isn't Jared's fault, and by the sounds of it even the rosebush might not be safe at this point. The thought of that makes him sad and scared all at once. "I do want to go home. I want to let my family know what's going on."

But still he needs to ask "Anyone want an egg?"
As they all settle in, Peanut asks, "What is the plan in the morning? Get Theo and Jerad back to their rosebush and check on the mice in the barn?"
"Oh... no thank you," Jerad says when Num asks if anyone would like an egg. He looks up at the chickens, wondering if there were even any eggs left at this time, since the farmer should have taken the eggs by now.

"I am not sure many of them will want to leave. People tend to try and ignore danger if it isn't happening right now."

Clive will direct the party to a clean empty nest box
