The illusion of Bram smiles, then looks around, before waving its arms around in a flourish and disappears.
Thallan whispers to the others,
"Well Bram didn't set off any ambushes."
At Ava's intended action, Thallan nods agreement and then whispers to Xandar.
"My little friend, I am again, in need of your talents. If you could fly around the area over the little girl and report anything out of the ordinary. Well as out of the ordinary as you can determine, given our location, and your origin."
Dril runs up to the girl with Clermar and Ava. Once in front of the child Dril will lock eyes with the girl. Dril's pupils grow wide until there is no color left, the child's own eyes being seen in the reflection, attempting to cast hypnotic gaze. (DC 14)
"Child, be calm and we will have you out of here in a moment. There could be trouble about"
Ava: You step forward through the trees, approaching the girl. Once within range, a glimmer appears above your head that quickly expands into a gleaming silver halo of light. The glowing crescent brightly illuminates the area, and as you look down at the girl, you notice that she is almost glowing herself now as if under UV light. It's unsettling, and as you look closer, a realization comes over you: this girl looks like she's already dead.
Thallan: You shield your eyes from the sudden brilliance of Ava. While your eyes adjust, Xander's telepathic screech fills your head like an alarm. Whatever had been following you before is back, and they're closing in on Ava and Dril.
Clermar: The trap pops open easily, several components crumbling to rust. The girl next to you giggles as you do this, and it becomes blatantly obvious that this is no normal girl, and that she wasn't even trapped.
Dril: You rush to the scene, but as you begin to utter the arcane words to your enchanting spell, you stop as you witness the strange girl begin to float up into the air, bloodied leg dangling beneath her. Gradually her form becomes translucent, and she continues to giggle as she rises up towards the branches.
Distracted by this disturbing sight, Dril and Ava don't notice the shadowy jaws manifesting next to them, open and filled with razor teeth ready to chomp down on limbs. The maws are attached to thickly muscled canine forms that materialize out of the darkness.

"STOP! ITS A TRAP!"
As the dogs appear and attack his friends Thallan casts Hex on the one attacking Ava and then blasts it with an Eldritch Blast.
Bonus Action: Cast Hex on Dog 1 - Hexing Strength for disadvantage on ability checks. Void gets an extra 1d6 necrotic damage, when he hits it with an attack
Action: Cast Eldritch Blast at Dog 1 - Attack: 15 - Damage: 8 force damage + 1 necrotic damage
Dril gets chomped hard, the jaws clamping tight across his back. shoulders and chest and giving him a violent shake. Unconscious, Ava's words awake a shaken Dril. Uttering an obscure gnomish phrase in an all but forgotten dialect, his form becomes enveloped in clouds as he transports himself back toward the road, a full thirty feet away from them dogs.
(If not standing at the end of misty step Dril will rise to his feet)
Nean charges in, summoning the two shimmering blades of psychic energy while running towards the hounds and simultaneously honing the blades to prepare for the fight to come (2 Psi Points). If he manages to get up close, he will try and take over the attention of dog 2 who lost his target and then try to thrust him with one of his blades.

Enemies Initiative: 17
Ava: With the hound's jaws still around your arm, you use your free hand to send a pulse of necrotic energy into the beast. It releases you with a yelp and staggers back. It looks quite hurt by the attack, but it growls and prepares for another bite. Ignoring it, your celestial voice calls out to Dril, sending much needed healing magic to him.
Liafial: You charge through the brush, readying your whip. As you close in on the one near Ava, you lash out, but the weapon falls short and snaps at the grey forest floor.
Ospos: (Dex Saves: 12 in order to get both of them you'd also hit Ava and Dril, so I'll resolve it against just one of the dogs) With a blaring note from your bagpipes, glittering purple flames spring up and cling to the beast assailing Dril, clearly outlining its shadowy form.
Shadow Mastiff 1 [INJURED]: The wounded hound leaps again at Ava, attempting to harry her to the ground. Attack: Miss
Shadow Mastiff 2 [FAERIE FIRE]: The dog snaps again at the downed Dril, black paws pinning him to the ground. Attack: hit, 8 damage
Clermar: Leaping into action, you swing your sword in a mighty arc. It cleaves right through the girl, but it has no effect, her form only slightly being distorted like mist. She sticks her tongue out at you in a childish teasing manner, and continues to float up until she appears to sit on one of the tree branches, spectating the battle.
Dril: You are brought back to consciousness by Ava's divine magic just in time to feel the shadowy jaws clench down around you again, brutalizing your small frame. You can feel the warmth of her light resist against some of this, and are thankful for it as it gives you just enough time to teleport right out of the hound's fangs.
Nean: The shimmering dog ahead of you looks confused as it's meal vanishes, and you manage to suckerpunch it, your psychic blade piercing it's thick skull and wracking it with pain. (you have advantage from the faerie fire, feel free to roll that attack again at the top of your next post in case you crit)
EDIT: Somehow the attacks against Ava and Dril got messed up so I changed them manually to what they were first. I may start rolling dice in the OOC thread to avoid them getting messed up while I'm resolving actions
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Frustrated, Clermar sneers at the 'girl' a bit before turning back and running to the glowing dog. He heaves his sword overhead and attempts a large strike.
Attack: 21 to hit, 14 slashing damage
(rolling 2d6 more for my critical since it didn't trigger for 19)
10 slashing damage
If he feels like his sword connected, he will take the opportunity to make a second quick slash against it. (Action Surge)
(Presuming there is a dog left) Dril is shaken badly from the injuries he received. Gathering himself, he launches three motes of energy toward the hound that is not glowing, the one near Ava.
(if both of the dogs are dead by the time my initiative rolls around) : Dril looks about and sees the little girl sitting high in a tree branch, in a fit of anger, he launches tree magic projectiles toward her.
(if the dogs and the girl are gone) : Looking about uneasily, Dril fears more danger to come. He cast Blade Ward upon himself.
Nean will keep slashing down the dog in front of him. If the mastif dies before he gets to slice it, he will instead target the other dog.
Attack vs Dog 2: 22 (Adv. role 26) DMG: 8
Off-Hand: 10 (Adv. role 27) DMG: 7
In case both dogs are dead before he gets to do anything, or if they die due to his attacks, Nean will turn around to the glowing girl and transfer a thought into her mind.
"Are you not a little too dead to fool around like this?"
Ava: You produce a bolt of silvery flame which grazes the dog's flank, searing it with holy fire. Some of the glowing divine energy from your following spell reflects onto Nean with a silver shimmer.
Lifial: The dog yelps and snaps in your direction as the whip lashes against its side.
Ospos: Arcane magic is channeled through the discordant notes you play, but it seems to fall on deaf ears, she doesn't even looks in your direction, much more interested in the melee below her.
Shadow Mastiffs: The dog assaulting Ava looks ravaged, and it lowers it's head and growls as it slowly backs away. (disengaged) The other hound is still quite vital, and it lunges at Nean with it's bite (hits for 12 damage)
Clermar: Your first swing falls like a hammer, slamming into the hound's back with an audible crack as it's spine is broken. Somehow its unnatural form still lives after your initial strike, but that changes quickly as your next lightning attack cleaves right through the mastiff. It's shadowy flesh flickers away from its dark, warped canine skeleton.
Dril: Three glowing bolts of arcane force rocket out, veering around Ava to pelt the retreating beast, sending it flying back a few feet into the ground, where its body begins to disintegrate.
Thallan: With the attacking beasts gone, you shift your focus to the strange child. You attempt to shift your malign hex to her, but find that the affliction doesn't hold, as if she wasn't even there. Similarly, your eldritch blast sails through her form.
Nean: You feel a strange sense of distortion as you try and communicate with her, like you're talking underwater, but she turns to you with a smile and seems to comprehend your message. "Silly, I'm the perfect amount of dead to fool around like this. What else am I supposed to do?"
Horseman: So distracted by the chaos around you, none of you notices the approaching form until it bursts through the treetops overhead with a loud crash. A mounted warrior, dressed in studded black leathers and obscured by a pointed hood that covers their face descends from the sky on a hellish steed. The horse is pitch black as the jagged hills, and it's hooves and mane billow with fire and trails of dark smoke. The horseman soars down, heading straight for the battered form of Dril, and launches a bolt from the massive crossbow in his hands. (hits for 13 damage) (also for reference he is about 30 ft up in the air and 60 ft away from Dril, who is 30 ft away from the melee that just happened)
