Bram: The question seems to energize Sirocci even more. You get the impression that the man doesn’t get many opportunities to host travelers. “Of course! Perhaps a field trip to my study after this round.” He says, gesturing with his glass.
Liafial: “It’s surprisingly easy here, where every mortal expects to be taken away in the night by some specter or shadow, never to be seen again. A charming gentleman slipping into a town and leaving a few villagers faint or near death doesn’t cause much of a stir at all. On the material plane where the sun shines bright, my brethren are a touch more... ravenous. Hence, the antipathy between my kind and the living.”
After receiving any other drinks you all request, Lord Sirocci eventually leads you back inside the castle. Through halls, now darker as the sky has turned obsidian, and up a narrow flight of stairs, he brings you into his study. Unlike the rest of the immaculate castle, this space looks truly lived in. A desk full of scattered papers, paint and other various supplies lying about, several canvases and pieces of parchment with unfinished paintings, mostly landscapes and still lifes, and sketches here and there, and a work in progress sculpted bust of one of Sirocci's thralls, thought it's hard to determine which one as they all look quite alike. Sirocci, clearly an avid conversationalist, hasn't stopped talking since you left the terrace. Must be easy when you don't have to take a breath.
"...so finally I just had to tell her, it didn't matter what outfit she picked or how she changed her hair, she would still be a decrepit, withered corpse and I wasn't going to start the painting over for a fifth time. Take my advice, never agree to paint a portrait of a lich." he pauses finally at the end of this tale, taking a look at your faces. "Ah, my apologies friends. It's dangerous to give me your ears, I'll talk you into oblivion. I'm sure you're all tired, please get some rest. My sister will be here in the morning, and I'm sure she'll be able to help you on your mission."
Ospos, after straining to be vigilant for so long, is exhausted. As soon as Lord Sirocci mentions taking time to rest, Ospos bows politely and returns to his chambers. On the way, if anyone is following and listening, Ospos tells them he'll cast a tiny hut in his room and all members of the party are free to enter for a safer rest.
Once in his room, he'll make sure all his gear is there and cast Tiny hut centered in the room, but making sure to encompass his bed.
Clermar returns to his room to remove his armor with the intention of heading back to Ospos's room; however, he quickly falls asleep after his armor is doffed and his eyes closed for a minute to "rest".
Ava will wish the Lord a good night, thanking him again for his help, then leave for the quarters. She will take Ospos up on the offer to sleep in the Tiny Hut, not having forgotten Sirocci's suggestive comment and sustained eye contact.
Now that everyone decides to call it a day, and Nean is still regenerating taste buds after his very first Belthezze, he will answer Sirocci with a nod and follow the rest of the group. He listens to the offer, but in the end decides to rest in the room (whoever exactly he is sharing it with). Only after making sure hes flasks of holy water are neatly placed close to him though, one under the bed, one on top of the night stand, and one under his pillow. He then takes a moment to clear any remaining dust off the covers and tries to find some sleep. Which takes a little while.
Bram: (yes I think we’ve officially lost Dril, he hasn’t responded to the dm I sent like a week ago. I’ll think of a way to write him out when it’s convenient but for now he is silent, filled with the malaise of the Shadowfell, and does not object to letting you copy the spell.) Please let me know whether you’re staying in the tiny hut or in the other room.
Liafial: You too, let me know where you’re sleeping.
(Hoping we didn’t lose Liafial as well, it’s been a while since his last post. Sent him a message but for now I’ll move things along assuming he slept in the hut)
Nean and Clermar I need you both to give me perception checks at disadvantage.
You all awake to another dreary morning in the relative comfort of the Pallid Keep.
Ava and Bram, as you begin to rejoin the conscious world you notice the faint sound of raised voices talking somewhere else in the castle.
Nean and Clermar, as both of you wake up in your room separate from the others your first moments are incredibly groggy. As you step off of the plush beds, your legs nearly buckle with exertion, and your heads swim as you get up. Both of you feel lightheaded and weak. (Clermar, your maximum hp is reduced by 5. Nean, your maximum hp is reduced by 8.)

Ava is going to ask for one more round of ambrosia, after finishing her first glass.
Bram saviours the rest of his drink, trying to commit to memory the wonderful flavours.
While waiting for others to finish their own drinks, Bram goes over and studies the beautiful plant growths and the flowers.
Bram cast Silent Image a few times trying to duplicate the flowers beauty.

Bram takes Dril aside when they get down to the rooms.
"Dril, I was thinking I might try to add that scroll of Tenser’s Floating Disk to my book before we bed down."
"Would that work for you or did you want to record it in your book first?"
"I have the ink I need, and this is a much preferable place to do the inscription, then anywhere else we have been so far on this plane."

As Dril doesn't object, Bram will take out his "Writing Equipment", his book of shadows and his special spell ink and scribe the spell into his book.
(That's 2 hours and 50gp of ink)
(If that's all good, I will add the spell to my book of shadows as a ritual)

Bram finishes recording the spell into his book, and admires his handy work.
Quietly Bram puts his things away and carefully enters the Tiny Hut.
Doing his best not to wake anyone who has already fallen asleep, Bram set's out his bed roll and turns in for the night.

Bram comments as he gets his gear packed up,
"Sounds like someone isn't the happiest this morning, anyone else hear that?"
As the group gets back together outside in the hallway, Bram asks Clermar and Nean,
"How are you two doing, were the beds good? You are certainly braver then me, I'm just not completely sure about our host."
Bram rubs the back of his neck, feeling a disturbing, and unfortunately familiar lump.
A wash of change goes down Bram, from top to bottom, leaving him the same, but the lump gone.
