Ospos, Nean, Dril, Clermar: The barkeep nods, "Alright." and pours four drinks. "8 copper." They seem to be a basic cocktail of a strong, clear liquor and tonic water. Rat pipes up at your response. "I.. uh no I guess- yeah I guess it's fine," he says as he glances around. "People mind their business here. That's why I like it. You're all just... well you stand out round this part of town. Like... like a sore thumb. Uhmmm, so, uh yeah what, uh... h-how can I help you?" He has the physical demeanor of a small, anxious dog, though he seems to actually be fairly tall.
"Please, have one for yourself. Cheers! Share a drink among new friends, as we all have just met this very day." And leaning in, speaking a bit more discreetly, "Not that I care to meet one, but know of any dragon caves around? Particularly due north of here and preferably unoccupied?"
After Dril speaks, Ospos elaborates, "We need a guide to bring us to the entrance of an abandoned mine shaft in the Sunridge mountains. Gita would like for you to be that guide."
"Oh uh, ok" he says as he awkwardly clinks glasses with you all. "Uhm, y-yeah I know what you're talking about. Not far, hard to miss. If it clears my debt to Gita then I can easily take you there. Uhm..." He pauses and looks over each of you. "You guys... uhm you guys can uh... fight, right? You look to be... adventurous. I'm a good shot and I'm good.... uh I'm a good runner. But, I can't exactly... well... protect you if we run into anything on the way there. I'm not that kind of guide."
Ospos grins and sticks his hand out, "Great! We leave tomorrow from the northern gate, say mid-morning. See you then." Ospos listens and looks around while finishing his drink, before heading off for one last meal and a good rest.
"Most of us will be comin from the Red Gallows though. We'll come and pick you up." Quite amazed at how easy the undertaking turned out to be, and just as happy to leave the Kuz'Ra area of the slums, Nean will head home to prepare for the next day and get some sleep.
Raising an eyebrow at Rat's response, Dril attempts to use Hypnotic Gaze on Rat (Wis save against DC 13) "I care to know more about your friend Gita and the debt you owe her. Any details that could better help us prepare would be beneficial for all parties involved. She was off in a hurry after recruiting us for this adventure"

Still unsatisfied with Rat's response to his questioning, Dril wishes Rat a good night and heads back to the Red Gallows to rest in preparation for the morning.
Nodrus followed to get some rest for the night, still having not spoken much with the group, it was mutually agreed he'd go along with them on this task. Maybe it would work out well after all.

Nean and Ospos: "Oh uhm... ok yeah." he responds, a little surprised at how abrupt your exits are.
Dril: As you stare into his eyes and speak softly, his eyes begin to glaze over. "I.... uh.... she's.... not really my friend.... I mean.... I don't know her... very well. She was tracking down an artifact..... in the possession of a demonic cult and.... the cult was also after me. She.... saved me. Now I help her find information... scout locations..." The effects of the enchantment bring his already labored speech to a crawl. It's almost harder to analyze his words and expressions as he stares blankly, incapacitated. At best, you feel like he is being forthright, and the spell does seem to make him give more information than he would have otherwise. As you leave, he seems to come to, and you can see him shaking his head clear as you exit the door.
You all awake the next morning, refreshed and ready for this new quest. After a delicious breakfast at the Red Gallows, you make your way through the city. The streets are currently being cleaned, decorations taken down, and stages deconstructed. The festivities of the Arcanum Festival are over, and people are wasting no time in getting back to work. Tiefling Town is much busier than it was the previous night, and the sounds of commerce fill your ears as you walk through the narrow streets. Rat is waiting outside the Stumble Inn, wearing a black cloak with a longbow slung over his shoulder. He drops his hood as he notices you all, and you get a better look at him. His skin is ash grey, broken up by jet black freckles. His delicate features are marked by a scar that cuts vertically across his lips, and his silver eyes appear slightly sunken in. A mess of steel colored curls top his head, and he cracks a small smile as you approach. "Morning! Ah, so... are you all ready?"
Dril looks around at his companions, "Here we go again" he mutters before turning a smile towards Rat and exlcaims "Eager to get started, I see you got your beauty sleep!"
Toward the party: "We all accounted for? Between all the excitement and libations I may have lost track. For the sake of redundancy, I am Dril, a student at an esteemed wizard's college on the mainland. I'm in Solaccus doing research and uhhh...revising my thesis... I guess I needed the gold so I took up this adventure. Hopefully more real world experience will prove more useful than my time spent in a library, even one as beautiful as the one here in Solaccus. Anyone else care to share, how about you there Dwarf?"

(Solacus is on the mainland, Uvalli is the only known mainland)
Rat shifts uncomfortably "Uhm... I'm Rat. I'm uh...I guess a freelance scout. Annnnd well, I don't uh, enjoy being insulted by my clients." his reflective eyes shoot back at Liafial, his feelings clearly hurt.
Ospos looked at Liafal after his remark, nose and upper lip scrunched up in distaste. Turning to Rat, he reassured him, "Don't take it personal. We should head out before Liafal's parents show up and drag him away by the ear and ground him for a decade for associating with us unsavory types. A good voyage outside of his chateau where he has to pull his own weight will knock a few inches off his pedestal. Lets get going, yeah?"
"Hi, I'm Bram, we haven't meet yet. I was off shopping and filling in my two companions on the new job, last night."
Bram looks around for his two companions,
"Hmm, they seem to have walked off again. Never mind, they know to catch up with us. We seem to have a sixth sense about each others whereabouts. It's never been hard to find each other when we need too."
Getting back to the introduction,
"Anyway, I'm a bard of sorts, I know a little magic I learned from Franz. Franz is one of my companions, he is a wizard in training, he has been teaching Frank and myself some magic. Frank is my other companion, he's more of a sneaky type. We have managed to teach him how to let off blasts of magic, but he keeps going back to his sling when ranged attacks are called for. He complains that he understands the physical weapon better than the magic, and that he cant rely on the magic when things get intense."
"We have adventured a little here and there, in the last year or so since our friend Thallan died. He used to organise our group back then."
Bram looks sadly off into the distance, remembering his lost friend.
After Bram's introduction, Dril rubs his eyes trying to remember Bram's companions. He is wondering what was in those drinks at the Red Gallows as he can only remember Bram being alone.
Rat smiles a little as Ospos sticks up for him, but still has an overall air of anxiety and discomfort. "No, I.. I uh, I picked it. Rats are good at staying alive. Good at hiding. Fast. Resourceful. I didn't have a name for a long time...." he pauses, clearly remembering something. "T-tieflings, they uh... they often choose their own names and so I thought.... well I just liked Rat." He looks around at the assembled party, nodding as each person introduces themself. "Well uh, now that we're all here, we should... probably get going. Your friends better be crafty Bram, we're not gonna go slow for them. Uhm... follow me." he says before flipping his hood back up and setting off towards the mountain ridge in the distance.
Even with his darkvision, Dril is anxious of his surroundings.
"I'm in favor of carrying on this conversation elsewhere, but if we must remain here, I will need a drink good sir"
