(Holy smokes we had some poor Wis saves!)
Dril was in the process of readying a spell. truthfully, he didn't really know what he wanted to do. At the sight of the alien creature and being sick and tired of bugs, he shut his mouth and bolted back from where he had came. After a short while he realized there was no need for panic and stopped running to catch his breath. The sound of Ospos' voice told him that the party was not in danger so he slowly made his way back toward the party. sneaking back, he wishes to remain unseen by his friends, the new acquaintance, and definitely that bug.
Franz slows and stops as the fear effect wears off. Coming to realization that he has been manipulated, Franz becomes furious.
Turning, Franz starts to stride back to the others.
"What is the meaning of this?! How dare you manipulate me like that! This is unacceptable!"
As Franz closes in on everyone else and sees the villager, and how inhuman his appearance is, he looks around at the others who didn't run. Seeing they are calm, he tries to get a hold of himself.
"Yes, well, uh, never mind I suppose."
Franz walks along with everyone, but still looks sullen over what happened.
"Finch, huh? Nice to meet you. What happy hour though?" Nean is trying his best to dub his pathetic attempt to escape. He remains weary of the rather strange creature, his arms lifted and readied in case of any other unpleasantries.
attempting to sneak back to the group Dril stumbles and falls into plain view of the party. "Oho! there you guys are, uh...I got a little lost is all. Nice to meet you. I am Dril. I have never been to Amaranth, seems to be a mighty fine place!"
The sounds of revelry increase as Finch leads you towards the village. It's a small settlement, and with many of the structures incorporated into the trees it's hard to see exactly where Amaranth ends and the forest begins. The inhabitants are varied. Many of them look similar to Finch, with goat-like features. Others are completely wrapped in clothing, hoods and shawls covering their skin. You also notice a few incredibly tall humanoids, with broad features and tawny fur. Finch seems to be leading you to what looks like an open air tavern: tables and chairs are spread around in a small clearing, with a bar wrapping around the trunk of a large tree in the center.
Ospos: As you walk, you notice towards the far end of the village, there appears to be a mansion, somewhat dilapidated and overgrown but painted in bright colors. It's surrounded by an army of lawn ornaments: small statues, flags, pinwheels, windchimes and the like.
Seeing the open air tavern Franz seems to loose his bad mood and starts to walk quickly over the the tables, planning to sit down on a chair for the first time in days.
"Civilisation! My aching body will have relief at last."
"Nectar! Comes in different flavors: red, green, black, blue, which is me favorite. And original of course." he says as he continues to the bar. One of the taller residents is behind it, a woman with a long black braid down her back, and large deer-like ears that perk up as the group approaches. "Oh Finch! So good to see ya! And friends! My, what a motley bunch, welcome to Willow's Rest. What'll ya be havin?" Finch hops up on a trunk, a row of which acts as stools of varying heights around the bar. "Aye, as always it's my pleasure Eala. Found this lot gettin chased off by the meenies! Let's start em off with a couple flights of nectar, gotta give these tourists a proper taste of Amaranth." The woman leaves and returns with two slim wooden trays, each designed to hold six delicate stemmed glasses. They each contain a thin, bubbly liquid in an array of colors: gold, red, green, blue, black, and milky white. "Sooo, most of ye still 'aven't introduced yourselves. Let's hear some names! And what are ya doin 'round this neck of the woods?"
Nean is filled with amazement in face of all the new and so colorful impressions. For a moment he is torn between the blue and the black glass, but in a daring attempt decides to pick up the black liquid. As Finch adresses the group again, he tries to glance at everyone of the troupe inconspicuously, hoping they will answer with care. "My name's Nean. Nox for some weirdos. We're came here by accident, i gotta admit im not quite sure myself what happened. As my elfen companion mentioned, we were trapped in a cave only a few minutes ago. Would you mind telling us how far Solacus is from around here?" He than smirks at the drink and takes a carefull gulp.
Liafial: The gold drink is incredibly sweet, like honey, with a light floral note. The aftertaste is slightly bitter,.
Nean: Your drink is sweet, but with a rich and earthy flavor, like tea, with a mild taste of licorice as well.
Finch takes one of the cloudy white drinks and sips on it as he listens to both of you. "Suh-what? Never heard of it. A portal ye say? Sounds like you're quite a ways from home. So which way did ye come through? From the Endless Oceans? Oo that's it, yer pirates! Came through Nixie Loch then?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dril takes a careful sip of the blue drink. Before he can speak he hears Liafial and Nean's responses. His eyes nearly jump out of the sockets with surprise, before quaffing the rest of his drink.
"Pirates?! No, of course not. I would never set foot inna vessel destined to cross anything called "The Endless Oceans". No sir, but we are lost for certain. I'd like to know more about Amaranth. Is there a proper government? Where can we find lodging? How's the winter? uh... What's nectar...um, ahh....."
Dril cannot believe that the secret is out that they traveled by portal. He is nervously attempting to rush past their situation with a bombardment of questions, although he really is interested in the answers to the questions. He is also looking around the room at the inhabitants to notice whether or not attention is being drawn towards them.
Ospos is feeling very self conscious carrying pockets packed with gems and jewelry, in a strange land with strange creatures. He's staying uncharacteristically quiet.
Dril: Finch stammers, attempting to answer each question before being cut off by the next. “Oh- well- uhm so it’s- ah geez. Huh. Well ok so yer not from there, then maybe... ah I ‘ave no clue! Strange folks you are. Ye should probably go see The Lady. I’m sure she’d be able ta help ya get where yer goin. She also might be able ta help with lodgin. We don’t get many visiters ‘ere. Usually when we do, they’re guests of The Lady, and they stay at her house.” Glancing around as he talks, you see that your strange troupe is attracting occasional looks from the locals, but none of them seem malign. You also notice that many of them seem quite intoxicated, clutching empty nectar glasses. The blue nectar in your glass is sweet and tangy, like some vaguely tropical fruit
Franz: The white drink is truly strange. It’s sour, almost like a pickle, with a sweet but fermented tang on the back end. It’s an acquired taste, but kinda refreshing as well.
Franz: The green drink is much more palatable, with a bright, tart flavor like citrus.
Finch is about to answer Franz before Ospos, cuts in. he nods in response. "Yes! The Lady watches over us, those that don't much care for tha bickerin and posturin of either of tha grand courts. She's amazin! Incredibly powerful, and an absolute sweetheart. You'd do good to pay 'er a visit. I know she'd be interested in ya."
After taking his sip, Franz takes a good long drink.
"Ahh, that was wonderful, thank you."
Franz gives an appreciative nod to Eala.
Turning back to the conversation, Franz give the indicated house a quick once over before asking,
"So, when you call her a Lady you're not just talking about her gender are you? And these grand courts, you have nobility and royalty here in this world, don't you?"
"Where we come from, we haven't had royalty or nobility since, well since the Breach, more than 2000 years ago. Our nation is instead, ruled by a counsel or mages known as the Conclave."
Finch looks very intrigued at your words, and sips more of his drink as he becomes more enraptured in the conversation. "Well ah... yes yes we do have nobility 'ere. Tha courts of Summer and Winter rule most of the lands, from Noon to Twilight. But The Lady is no noble, though she ought to be. Thats probably the reason she got tha name. She's been around for quite a long time, always treatin people with fairness and dignity, not like those pretentious fey in tha courts. Ya mentioned the Breach did ya? I'dunnae much about it, but I've heard her mention it. Sumthin to do with tha Lost Lands, aye?" A look of realization comes across his face. "Is that where ye lot are from?! Unicorn's Arse we gotta get ye to 'er!" Finch jumps up from his stool and starts off in the direction of the mansion. he stops a few feet away, beckoning you with a hurried wave "Come, come!"

With no where else to go, Ospos has no choice but to follow Finch and the party. But he keeps an eye out nevertheless.
