Nean: You scan the crowd, most of whom seem to be enraptured by the show. The Arcanum festival is one of the few times in the city where the different demographics mix and gather in one place, so the group is very diverse. One tiefling man sitting in the middle of the audience catches your eye, and though you've never interacted with him, you have a vague recollection of him having ties to Kuz'Ra. Focusing on him now, he seems to be alone and just here to enjoy the festival.
Neans eyes rest on the tiefling for a little longer, but he ultimately does not appear to be worried by his observations. He, nevertheless, he adjusts his chair to an angle that allows him to keep an eye on both the tiefling as well as the conjuration show ahead. No reason for him not to stay alerted to any potential trouble.
OOC: btw i forgot to do that whole psychic focus thing that comes with the mystics. He'll just focus on the Nomadic Step.
With the show now underway, the Tiefling steps down, just a moment before a glowing purple ring appears out of thin air, spilling silvery mist onto the stage. The crowd gasps, and there is silence as tension build for a few seconds before a jet black tabaxi saunters out of the portal. Applause erupts from the crowd. The mage is followed by two assistants, each carrying targets which they begin arranging around the stage. The cat-like humanoid then produces a small blade made of crystalline ice, which he lobs at one of the targets. It strikes with practiced accuracy, and explodes into smaller shards. He does this for each of the targets, some with a spinning flourish and one behind his back without looking. The crowd cheers as he bows and leaves the stage. The next performer, an androgynous high elf, conjures a large sphere of swirling water. Assistants create floating lights in tones of blues and greens that hover next to the sphere, casting the entire area in soothing ripples like the bottom of the ocean floor. Another conjurer joins them, a human female, and with a wave of her hand she brings forth a school of multicolored fish, which swim around the floating body of water. With a sweeping gesture, the sphere dissolves into a spray of seafoam, the fish dissipating into tiny glittering scales. Again, the audience applauds.
Nean weighs up whether he should get another wine. He doesnt seem mispleased, but not that impressed either. "Well, they surely do know how to introduce themselfes."
"I'm guessing they're setting the mood. Setting fire to braziers, throwing daggers, ice or not, and big floating balls of water that could just be illusions... there's nothing there that can't be seen elsewhere already. I'm not sure if they're getting the crowd complacent in order to surprise them, or if this is all it is. Either way, what it needs is music. Music would help... umm... set the stage."
Ospos could be seen looking intently at the stage for signs of greater things to come.
At hearing Liafial, Dril and Ospos' exchange, Bram turns and comments,
"While I always like to encourage anyone willing to preform for others pleasure, the halfling is right, they haven't done anything I couldn't just do with illusion magic. I want to see something substantial, something that says I'm real and I'm dangerous. But hey, the shows not over yet, we may still get something good before the end."
Finally, the man some of you had picked out of the group as Silas steps up to the stage. His expression is stoic as he moves front and center, while a hush of anticipation falls over the crowd. Raising his arms in unison, Silas' eyes suddenly dart open; staring past the audience. His head snaps to the left, and his hand clenches into a fist. In response, the brazier he now seems to focus on flickers and grows, the fire nearly spilling out. With another sudden movement, his head snaps to the right, and that flame now also begins to grow. Both hands clenched, he raises them together above his head, and the twin blazes stream up into the air, combining into a shifting orange mass. Sweat now beads down the man's face, as he turns, his back to the crowd, and throws his hands down and back behind him with a sweeping motion. For the briefest second, the ball of fire seems to stretch in all directions, tearing open like a great flaming eye. A cloud of black smoke bellows out as something large streams out of the opening. The object crashes into the stage with a roar of flame, and the portal closes instantly in a spray of sparks. Licking fire begins to crawl across the stage, but seems to be stopped more or less by the soaked wood from the last act. Still, the fiery form rises, like someone sitting up after hunching over, and everyone watching can just make out the vague shapes of glowing eyes and a grimacing mouth. The entity now looms over its summoner, heat rolling off of it and into the crowd. While the earlier acts hinted at their tangibility, there was no question that this being is real. The banner above it begins to blacken with soot, and steam rises next to it as it's form dries out the wood. The original Tiefling now jumps up again, standing to one side of the stage. "Behold! The Great Silas Elendorn, Master Conjurer! Plucked from the blazing plane of elemental fire, Silas has bound this being to his will! Watch as he demonstrates how the ele... m-mental..." She begins to trail off as she seems to notice Silas still facing the elemental, his body now shaking under the magical strain. The flaming creature seems equally stressed, as it forces its way inches closer to the mage. Silas' knees shake, and he raises a quaking hand up before falling, body slumping to the floor. The elemental roars with a great fury, and surges forward as Silas' control of the thing fades. The creature glides across the mage, his body becoming lost in the inferno. It's at this point that chaos explodes across the crowd. Hysteric screams rise up as the audience jumps from their seats, panicking and fleeing in every direction. The elemental lets loose another roar, though it sounds more like a deafening burst of flame. Masses of red-hot fire form in each of its hands, and it lobs one into the fleeing crowd and another into the tavern next door, immediately setting the exterior of the building alight. The stage also begins to catch at a rapid pace now, and several of the audience members that had been trying to escape are now wracked with flame, either burning motionless on the ground or flailing desperately, trying to extinguish the blaze.
INITIATIVE NOW BEGINS (as a reminder, please post in any order, but wait until I post before posting again. The stage is about 25 ft X 25 ft, and is about 10 feet from the wall of the burning tavern next door. Pretty sure all of you except Nodrus are sitting just outside the tavern, about 30 ft from the elemental who is on the stage, near the front edge and towards the center. The drunk dwarf is still inside the tavern. At the moment the entire street is difficult terrain because of the panicking mob of people (unless you're a gnome or halfling)

Bram jumps to his feet as the elemental brakes loose and begins to wreak havoc on the area.
"Well it looks like we got the excitement we desired, hey Dril?"
Bram slaps Dril on the shoulder,
"Time to join in the fun."
Bram begins casting spells at the elemental, first an invisible hex, followed by a green beam of magical force.
Bonus Action: Hex: Void deals an extra 1d6 necrotic damage to the target whenever he hits it with an attack. The target also has disadvantage on Strength ability checks. Requires Void's concentration.
Action: Eldritch Blast: to hit: 11; (if hit: 3 force damage + 2 necrotic damage)

Clermar's eyes go wide, he pulls out his crossbow and loads a bolt. "Damn magic, this ain't what I wanna do today." He launches a bolt at the elemental.
Ospos looked on in horror as the ball of flame thrown by the elemental landed amidst the spectators. For all he knows, his own family or friends could be in that crowd!
Looking at Liafial, Ospos speaks, "I hope you're the right kind of bookish type to be able to do something against that thing, because I got nothing and I'm not going near it." Ospos began beating on his drum, not a tune for entertainment, but a deep rhythmic booming akin to a beating heart on an adrenaline kick. Using the rhythm to focus his thoughts, Ospos casts Faerie Fire such that the elemental is caught right on the edge of the effect and will travel through it with it's current course.
Faerie Fire: Dex save, DC 13. If it fails, attacks have advantage against it.
Again, speaking to Liafial, "Listen to the beat of my drum, let it give you clarity!"
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration (1d6) to Liafial.
Movement: I'm going to move away from the Elemental (no difficult terrain) and keep it at a comfortable 50 feet from me.

Nean slowly rises up from his chair as the catastrohpy begins to unfold. He is standing still for a moment, intensely staring at the elemental.
Mind Thrust: Int save, DC 13. Dmg: 1
He puts on his mask to cover mouth and nose and then clenches his fists in a dramatic gesture. Right at the end of his hands, brilliant blue blades appear out of thin air and fill the area around Nean with a sapphire gleaming.
"We need someone to extinguish the fire while we take care of that thing." , he roars over the chaos, while slowly making his way through the crowd and towards the elemental, effectively reducing the distance to it down to 20 ft.
Nodrus hears the commotion from outside the Tavern, "Now that's more like it, something to beat around 'ere". He stumbles off his seat at the bar, clutching the warhammer by his side and walking out of the Tavern towards to location of commotion. Noticing the blazing fire elemental in the middle of some kind of stage, "Outta my way ya blubbering idiots" Nodrus shouts as he pushed his way to the front of the crowd of people, using his full movement (with difficult terrain) to get within 15ft of the elemental. As the relatively large dwarf stood at the front of the panicking croud of people, adjusting his fingers on the handle of his warhammer, he spits to his left onto the ground, locking eyes with the blazing creature, waiting for the right moment to strike, looking for a weak spot.

Bram: The shadows leap up and coalesce around the elemental, looking almost like wisps of black smoke. You release a blast of arcane energy which careens into the side of the flaming creature, punching through it's form before the fire solidifies again.
Clermar: Your bolt sails towards the creature, but at this point it's hard to tell what is the being and what is the blaze swirling around it, igniting everything in it's path. You're pretty sure your shot goes wide and sails into the burning wall of the tavern.
Ospos: As your steady rhythm rolls out, a smattering of bright purple flames becomes visible through the reddish orange inferno, staying distinct like oil on top of water. 23(failed save) the purple flames stick to the elemental like a corona, making it easier to pick him out from the surrounding inferno. Liafialyou have 1d6 inspiration.
Nean: Concentrating, you send a lance of psychic force towards the creature. 5(successful save) you feel the attack fail as it twists it's face towards you, a low fiery growl rolling out from it.
Dril: Your arcane barrage batters the elemental, punching small holes through it's chest. At this point, it seems that the entity is only growing angrier under this assault.
As the skirmish breaks out, the remaining bystanders flee the scene, some stopping to drag off those that had fallen. The two Conclave members seem ready to jump in to attack the creature, but seeing the group of you fending off the entity, they instead go for damage control. One raises his arms, eyes glowing blue as a dark, swirling cloud begins to form over the tavern. A cold icy rain begins to fall, starting to douse the burning building. Flicking his wand about, the other mage begins to magically extinguish the flames licking at the fallen pedestrians, and then checking to see whether or not they can be saved.
The elemental being surges forward, looking like he's about to tackle Nean but instead charges right through him, briefly surrounding the man in flame. He stops about 10 feet behind him, then rears back and launches an arc of fire towards Bram.
Touch Attack against Nean: 21 Damage: 5 fire
Firebolt against Bram: 11 Damage: 13 fire
(if either attack hits, you catch fire and take 1d10 fire dmg at the start of your turn until you're extinguished, which you can take an action to do)
Ospos unleashes a scathing insult at the fire elemental to distract it away from Nean, "Hey! Your momma says your heatless sputtering flame is 'OK' because she secretly loves water elementals!"
Cutting Words against the attack roll: 2
Edit: Rerolling that using Halfling Lucky trait (assuming Cutting words counts as either an Attack roll, Ability check or Saving throw?): 1
Edit2: Doesn't matter. But I would still like to know if I can use Halfling Lucky for cutting words?
Nean watches the elemental aim for him and decides to take action. He is intensely focussing, bundeling his psychic powers and suddenly vanishes at the last second, still feeling the burn left by the heatwave that crushed into him. He sniffs at a small that is suddenly emerging and carefully touches the piteous remains of what should have been his eyebrows. "Oh come on, you gotta be kidding me." , his tone being both angry but also amused. "It's gonna take ages to grow these back."
OOC: Reacting with Defensive Step from the Nomadic Step discipline, Nean teleports 10 ft to the front, reestablishing the 20 ft distance between him and the elemental.
