"Thank you, maybee something to lighten the mood a little bit. Would you happen to have a good wine?" He then turns to the gnome introducing herself as gita. "I guess that kinda depends on who's asking." , he answers in a skeptical tone.
"That'll get ridda that problem"Nodrus said to himself, patting down the flames and leaning against his warhammer, with it's head on the ground. Looking around the now charred and panicked area, Nodrus noticed a small flicker of flame remaining on the ground, before quickly stomping it out before it caught onto his boot.
Liafial, Nean, Bram, Ospos: The bartender pours two glasses of red wine, and hands them to Liafial and Nean. Gita somehow manages to look even more excited as Ospos, Liafial and Bram respond. "Well hopefully your friends will return quickly! I have a proposition. A job. A QUEST!" almost shouting the last word. She turns to Nean and his more skeptical remark. "Oh! Yes! My apologies. Yes, I am Gita. Gita Troublehound! I'm certainly a little adventurous, but more so I'm a collector. A seeker! People lose things, and I find them. Sometimes I keep them, sometimes I sell them, sometimes people pay me to find things for them. Other collectors, with a little more coin than I, if you catch my drift. Sometimes I get a commission that's a bit too much to handle, and so I recruit some younger, hardier help." She says, with an eager smile, leaning towards you ever so slightly.
(You can all take a short rest now! Go ahead and roll hit dice if you'd like)
Taking one last look around the area as people slowly returned to their daily business, Nodrus looked down to where the Fire Elemental was, staring at the charred wood beneath his feet. He clutched a small silver necklace in his hand tightly before stuffing it back into his backpack, and making his way back to the tavern. The dwarf took a seat at the bar front once again, placing 1 gold piece on the counter, "Fill 'er up again for me will ya ?" Nodrus asked the barkeep as he slid a large mug across with the gold piece. He briefly took a gander across the people in the tavern, recognising a couple of faces who helped in that fight, before turning back around waiting for his drink.
Nean tastes the whine and shighs quietly. He's still unhappy about his performance and a bit rattled from the fight, so he decideds to let the others talk to that gnome and focus on listening.
Rolling a Hit Dice: 4 (Damn thats some magical whine)
Liafial, Nean, Bram, Ospos: "Quick you are! Yes, yes I do. A client of mine has asked me to track down a mirror. Allegedly it once belonged to a wood elf princess, a gift from her lover. Now I'm not sure why exactly the buyer wants this particular decoration, but she's willing to pay quite a bit! I've tracked the mirror down to an abandoned mine shaft at the foot of the Sunridge mountains to the north. It's uh.... seen some dragon activity. In the past! I think it was used as a back-up treasure stash, but my sources say the drake hasn't been back in ages. Shouldn't be anything too gnarly in there, probably some traps and kobolds. Honestly I'd go myself, but I have business across Uvalli, in New Primetra. It's urgent. And while I'm still more than capable of a good delve, at my age I'd have to pace myself. You dashing heroes could get the loot in no time! So? You're interested, yes?!"
Nodrus: "Ah ah, this one's on the house. You've earned it" she says as she fills your mug with ale, and passes it back along with your gold. As you drink, you overhear the conversation an older gnome woman is having with a few of the others that had fought the elemental. As she finishes speaking, she catches your eye "You're invited too! You big, burly, hunk-a-dwarf. Oh if I was just a few years younger..." she trails off for a moment, still staring at you, before snapping back and addressing the whole group. "Where are your other friends? Might they be interested as well? The dashing warrior, and that mage! Get them over here! Ah what a fine crew, makes me miss my glory days"
Ospos was quick to take the lead, replying, "Yes yes, the crew could get the job done. But lets talk payment? There's 7 of us here and that sounds like a good hike outside of the city, plus whatever challenges the mine shaft will throw at us. Your client willing to make it worth all of our whiles? And how do you intend to pay? When the mirror is delivered?"
"Fair enough then, good on ya" Nodrus raises his mug slightly, nodding towards the barkeep before downing the whole thing in one go, collecting his gold piece and walking over to stand at the table where he was called from, "Whaddaya got for me then?" Nodrus spoke as he had overheard some of the conversation already, He sounded genuine in asking, despite his arrogant natural tone. After weeks of wandering alone through the forest, perhaps this could be a start of weaving back into a society for Nodrus.
"Of course! My buyer has already given me some coin up front, of which I can offer you a hundred gold each. There's another hundred and fifty for each of you once the mirror is delivered back here. Plus, whatever other goodies you find in the hoard are yours! The mine is only a few days away from Solacus, so the whole journey shouldn't take more than a week or so. Easy peasy! Good money!"
Nean: You get the sense that Gita has experience with this sort of thing. The way she approached you, the way she talks about the job, this clearly isn't the first time she's propositioned a group of adventurers. You don't get the sense that she's withholding information, but you do get the feeling that she is downplaying certain aspects, particularly the mirror itself, in an effort to make this seem as lucrative as possible. She's being honest, but it is a pitch, she's trying to sell you on this job.
"Aye Clermar and good fighting yourself. I think the townfolk have the clean up covered from here. Let's go inside and rest with our new friends."
Dril enters the Tavern "Never too soon to take a drink after battle!" he exclaims to his new friend. "And I see we have made a new friend!, who is this young lady?" Dril smiles.
Nean joins in on Ospos's interrogation. "That is indeed a good question. M'lady, even if you supposedly do not know your employers reasoning behind getting that mirror, you as a well experienced collector of things would most certainly know a thing or two about that mirror, don't you? Just take a wild guess, what motivation could drive someone to spend as much money on such decorative futilities? What potential risks, even if absolutely unlikely, may be awaiting us? While i would embrace the chance to leave this godforsaken city, i'd prefer to know what exactly we're dealing with. Oh, and what are those sources you mentionened? Any chance we could meet them along the way to get some updated information?" Nean tries his best not to be rude in any way, he just doesnt want to be taken for a fool.
Clermar follows Dril back into the tavern, wiping the soot and sweat from himself the best he can. He makes his way over to Ospos, "Thank you for the help and healing back there. What's going on here now? I think I heard something about a free drink."
"Adventuring!? Tried it once, don't care to repeat that affair at all!" Dril turns toward the bartender and signals for a double, the smile fading suddenly.
Ospos turned to Clermar and replied, "When I was a lad, my Da used to say 'If you can't support your soldiers from behind, then you should stand in front of them.' Never really undesrtood what he meant or why he would say this to us, but today it made sense. You are more than welcome and in fact, I thank you for standing in front of us and the people of this city.
As for what is going on... we have been offered free drinks for saving the tavern and now this lovely Gnome Gita here, is offering our 'party' a job to retrieve a mirror that was rumored to be in a mine shaft up north in the Sunridge mountains."
Turning to Dril, Ospos shrugged and pointedly told him, "If you had a bad experience adventuring, then you didn't have luck on your side. Today, you have Ospos the Lucky sitting right next to you. A 250 gold job, 100 of that gold up front, landed in our lap, just like that. Unless you have a hoard of your own somewhere, I'd say you'd be a fool to turn your back on luck."
"The halfling's right yaknow, if ya got a job offered, takit while ya can." Nodrus speaks up from behind the group, who he recognised had helped out in the elemental fight. "Mind if i join ya on this task? Been lookin' for somethin' to spend my time on."
"For that amount of gold I'd retrieve a cow from a mine shaft. A mirror should be easy enough, I'm in. Clermar goes to the bar and retrieves an ale, drinking half of it down strait away to dull his burnt nerves. Seeing Nodrus again he slaps the dwarf on the shoulder and exclaims, "Yes! I want this one along, he's fearless. Glad you woke up for the fight."

Hoard. Ospos's ear tips were vibrating. "Do you have exact directions to this mine shaft? And a clear description of the mirror?"
"Aye Clermar and good fighting yourself. I think the townfolk have the clean up covered from here. Let's go inside and rest with our new friends."

Brams eyes light up at the story and description of the job from Gita. When she mentions the payment he says,
"I'm in! The payment sounds great and the job sounds like great fun."
Bram looks at everyone else with an expression of excitement. Hearing Nean and Ospos' pertinent questions, Bram turns back to Gita,
"Oh yes, those are good questions."
Bram wait expectantly for Gita to answer.
